    I just took delivery of my 2860M hydro about three weeks ago. Due to shortage of some components I don’t have the paid for third function on it yet. Grapple is on order from Everything Attachments, so I’m ok without for now. I’m an old clutch and transmission guy, and was wondering if I did right going to the hydro. I LIKE it! Found that Snail mode will really let the loader cut the dirt well! Turtle mode is just about right in the field work. Have not had it in Hare mode yet. Thanks for the tip on using the cruise control and using the hydro control pedal to “catch” the speed and then smoothly decrease speed rather than the abrupt stop that happens if you push the button or hit the brakes. Also a good tip on using the single brake and building back pressure on slopes to prevent rolling the wrong direction. I suspect that trick works well when going either forward or reverse? I’ll try it. Had the AC on today with outside temp of 90 and very comfy inside the standard cab. Have not found anything I dislike about this tractor. With its size and capability it is on the high end of a Compact tractor. It does a lot of things a traditional Utility tractor would do. Thanks for all your videos. Helped me buy Massey F. No buyers remorse here!

      Thanks for the AWESOME Review. That is good information and what we are hearing from our customers too. There is shortage on 3rd Function Kits...some guy did videos on them and with the high demand for Massey Ferguson Tractors in 2021 has created a supply issue. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on our video.

    I was looking at the 2600H series and noticed it didn’t use the DPF..I also noticed the H series was pretty much all mechanical, which in my opinion is more reliable in that long run. My question is why the are these tractors equipped with the DPF while other MF tractors similar HP are not.
    I currently run a 2018 Kioti 40 HP. In the future I’d consider the MF if I decide to upgrade. Great video, keep ‘em coming.

      2800M are Stage 5 Level Emission (Coming to North America soon already in enforcement in Europe). AGCO made the decision because the writing was already on the wall when they developed the 2800M to forgo meeting just Tier 4 and Got to Stage 5 when it invested in helping ISEKI bring their engine back to market. They decided on a DPF Filter and Regen as the means to Meet Stage 5 Emissions.
      2600H series Engine is clean enough to meet Tier 4 Emissions without REGEN, Diesel Particulate Filter or need for Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Uses EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Depends on the Engine and how much soot (particulate Matter) or NOx (Nitrous Oxide) Gases an engine produces if it needs After Treatment. The 2600H does not require any after treatment systems. Also there are several Tiers with the Tier 4 Level less than 25 Engine HP, 25 to 75 Engine HP, 75 to 150 Engine HP and 150 Engine HP and above each one of these levels have different levels of Particulate Matters and NOx Gas Levels the engine can omit.

    I have a 2860M hydro, and I love it. My only complaint is the auto throttle, specifically the fact that you can not disable it. Their are times when you don't want the tractor to change the RPM, you just want to adjust your ground speed. I can list at least 4 different scenarios. If you know a way to disable it, I would love to hear it. All other manufactures that offer auto throttle have a way to disable it, why wouldn't Massey?

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can set the Manual Throttle to Minimum RPM and auto throttle will only work above that. My personal tractor I own has AutoThrottle and I can't think of a time I would want it disabled.

    • @1989jwaldo
      @1989jwaldo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@VahrenbergImplement Well, I can give a couple, when tedding hay, you need to adjust ground speed separate from the PTO. when I'm tilling and I get to the end of a row and I am traveling across the end of the garden empty and want to hurry across. When you travel down the road and you want to put the hydro pedal to the max. but not run 2700 RPMs. When you store it inside a shop but want to pull it outside to warm up, the moment you touch the hydro pedal it revs the engine. I can go on, but you get the idea. Most of the time auto throttle is just fine, but there are times when it is a nuisance, and I would like the option to disable it. There is no doubt that it is possible for Massey to have a way to disable it. I wish they would offer it.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) Tiling Example that is where AutoThrottle shines it will help get you there faster because the higher the throttle the faster you will travel. 2) Road Travel: If your running that fast you need more throttle or you'll be stalling the hydrostat at low rpm. 3) Use a lower range and it will not put as much load and not raise the RPMs with Autothrottle. How much are you willing to pay to Turn On/Off Auto Throttle? It's going to add more expense to the manufacturing of the tractor and not sure most if not all my customers would find any value in turning it off, probably the second most loved feature behind ground leveling fueling we get comments about to customers that own tractors with autothrottle.

    • @1989jwaldo
      @1989jwaldo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@VahrenbergImplement I am not looking to debate you on how great autothrottle is. Massey Ferguson's Autothrottle is not load sensing, it is preset in relation to the pedal position it has no idea if the tractor is pulling a load or just rolling out of the shed that is why It is not the perfect solution every time, that is why all other manufactures ( I don't believe they have load sensing either) let you shut it off. 1) Tilling, I do want to move faster, but I'm not willing to rev the engine to the max to do it. (no load). 2) Road travel,(no load again) I don't stall the hydrostat, there is a happy medium between hydro position and throttle, experienced operators can hear, feel it. 3) pulling out of the shed to warm up. Using a lower range makes no difference, again not load sensing. I am not bashing Massey, I was raised on them. If I had the option to turn of Autothrottle it would be perfect, If I could disable it permanently, I would rather do that. Just let your Rep. know that giving an override option instead of dumbing it down to the masses may be a better answer. I have probably watched every video that you have posted on the Massey compacts, you do a great job and have great content. Please keep it up. I am just hoping someone can help me find a way to override this option. Or may sure another buyer understands fully how it works.

    What type of hydraulic oil do these tractors use , Just bought a 2850M shuttle shift about a month ago what a great tractor i love it , got 18 hrs on a tank of fuel not even topped off i think that was pretty good , plenty of power for what i am doing , Waiting on the second & third remote kits hopefully i get them this year , There is one thing i think needs to be corrected on a 2800 series Massey Ferguson tractors with shuttle shift the brake pedal is too close to the foot throttle i got a big foot & when its on the foot throttle my foot is under the right brake pedal i guess if you had a size 6 shoe it wouldn't be so bad, other than that
    i really like it cold AC. good responsive hydraulics, The neighbors i haven't talked in over 2 years seen it & stopped by to check it out i think they went home to ask the wives if they were allowed to buy one too , I do like it so much to i might buy another one a little bigger next year I am one of those guys that needs two of everything Ha Ha.

    Another great video.. what disappoints me is they are putting those r4 tires on everything it seems. If you were new to tractors and didn't know any better you'd be disappointed with those slick r4's. I wish r4 tires were the optional ones not the r1. Keep up the good work.

    • @VahrenbergImplement

      You can choose which tires to order. Customer wanted R4 Tires and what we have requested the most is R4 Tires. You can have Turf, Industrial or Ag Tires. Are number #1 selling tire is the R4 Industrial Tires.

    • @farmall1farmall132
      @farmall1farmall132 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VahrenbergImplement oh yeah I mean what I generally see at most dealers when everyone had stock was the r4's unless it was 75+ hp. IMO you shouldn't have r4's on a tractor you plan to do something with other than cutting grass. I guess my years of farming and land clearing has just taught me say no to r4's if you plan on working with your tractor and not cruising on it like a Cadillac.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      R4 Industrial is the compromise between turf and ag. They are less aggressive on grass but still have traction & mud cleanout ability just not as much as Ag Tires. Ag Tires work off grass...the construction industry uses them on all their equipment and it is' off road. Ag Tires can be more aggressive than people want for their needs and they choose the tire that meets their needs. We sell very few AG Tires as they are over aggressive for most peoples needs in the smaller compacts and small utility tractors.

      I've been requesting for several years. It will come some day. Quicke use to have an add on system for Self Leveling and that would be the cats meow. Sell as aftermarket attachment and it was reasonable but I think even Quicke stopped that add on kit but they over Standard or Self Level Loaders. I know Australia requires all loaders to be self leveling. Maybe some day we can get them in the states.

    Does Massey Ferguson not let you fix your tractors like John Deere?

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anyone can work on there tractor. For 2021 Massey Ferguson has started rolling out programs for the customer to rent diagnostic equipment to perform their own repairs. Has started on the Global Series for 2021 Massey Ferguson Tractors. Doesn't tell you how to fix it that is what dealers pay for Service School Training for their mechanics but you can rent the diagnostic tool and try it yourself. Right to Repair is very misleading like many things the media has done, 99.9% of the customers are not going to mess with internal computer codes and that was what Deere wanted to protect is their Intellectual Property and the media twisted it out of context. IP is just like Microsoft Operating Systems you use on your computer.

      So your saying Massey Ferguson rents tools and programs to help fix your tractor?

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Massey Ferguson offers an Electronic Diagnostic Tool Rental Program that can be rented from them to help farmers who wish to attempt to do their own repairs. The Only Massey Ferguson Models currently available with the NEW Diagnostic Software capable of this program is the 4700 Global Series Tractors. As new models are introduced they will start incorporating the same opportunity for customers. I know sister brand Fendt Tractors 700 Gen 6 Tractors are also compatible. It will be rolling out to other models. The Person Performing the work is going to have to determine what and how to fix. Diagnostic Tools allow you to look at what is happening and error codes they don't tell you how to fix. That is what Dealers pay thousands and thousands of dollars annually to training their mechanics. Program is similar to going to auto parts store and getting code read on vehicles...doesn't tell you how to fix but the parts stores sells you components to try to resolve the problem.

      @@VahrenbergImplement I’d rather set my throttle and control my speed with the pedals. Every time I’ve used auto throttle,…I end up having to do to much shift with the range selector. The torque was never really in the sweet spot for where I needed it. To me,…it’s only good when doing work in tighter areas,…and that includes loader work. When mowing in thicker weeds/grass,…you can’t just back off of the pedal without being too far below your ideal rpm range. You have to put it in a lower range,…but when it thins out, then you can over-rev to get back up to speed,…or you can stop and select the next range up. To say what I’m trying to say,…It’s easier to keep the rpms matched for the constant varying conditions a lot easier than with the auto throttle.

      If you need minimum engine RPM set the hand throttle to that needs. Like Mowing with Rear PTO you set RPM with Throttle to produce the correct PTO Speed you need then when you get in tougher conditions or want to go faster AutoThrottle Kicks in to increase the RPM or ground speed and prevents the tractor from stalling. AutoThrottle works in conjunction with manual throttle but is there to help when you need more.
