Was one of the best podcasters, is one of the most generous people on world, but as a comedian he's embarrassing.
YES YES YES
Exactly “was” one of the best podcasters 😂
@@UltFemWarrior Wich are the current ones?
Embarrassing for who?
He's also a sell-out shill for the fake space program.
He flipped completely on the fake moon landing as he got super famous, now won't even speak of it, same way Alex Jones won't even talk about the towers now. and Joe never asks Neil ass tyson any real questions, plus admitted on video he would be a sell-out if they paid him enough. Water needs a container, and you can't have a ball of gases beside a vacuum, simple science. Sell out actors all over
He really didn’t “make a career in comedy” he was casted in a hit sitcom and played the dumb guy side character. He then was casted to host Fear Factor. That’s how he got famous. Not solely off of stand up
Good observation!
Not on stand up at all he was basically playing Tony Danza on Taxi in News Radio
And back then, all the *real* lame-asses were doing the opposite -- only bothering to do all the hard work involved in standup in hopes of being spotted and snagging that big money sitcom gig.
I worked with Bill Hicks' Sacred Cow Prods and then with Joe when he came to SCP to produce his first standup DVD. He's no Hicks, but he is himself which is central to being a good standup. I honestly haven't seen his standup of the last decade, but I always thought he was pretty solid and certainly never saw any fatal flaw in his comedy presentation.
Yeah, if his only career was stand up he would have never made it. Fear Factor, UFC and JRE were his 3 big breaks.
Tell me more please 🙏 what's his favorite submission lol getttttoutta here Wikipedia AI musk bot lol 😅
People hated Carlos Mencia so much that they accepted Joe Rogan as a Comedian.
Lmao
God bless you son
I think Carlos der der der joke was pretty funny
Neither one them are funny
Ppl can say what they want, but I watched Mencia's Comedy Central Presents special on cable TV as a kid, and I watched them all every day
Mencia's special went the hardest in terms of getting laughs while delivering an important message, he got a standing ovation with his closer and was offered Mind of Mencia after that
The most famous comedian who’s never told a single joke
Couldn't agree more!
hey you might know scott ian from anthrax
the s -ht st guitar player he has done more tv interviews than actually practicing guitar and he owns a lot of jackson guitars too bad he can't play f. k. all
You morons realize he has standup right
@@fredrezfield1629 Great analogy. Yeah, typically the most gifted people in any genre of art are too busy being prolific, to be good "ambassadors". Meanwhile, tf's a rhythm guitarist got to do with his time? Go talk to the kids about "rock music". Same with Rogan, the rhythm guitar of standup comedy - he's gotto tell sam harris about standup. If not for ppl like him, where would Neil deGrasse Tyson get elk meat?
He's great at explaining jokes.
If he didn't speak about the "art" of stand up all the time, people would've been more forgiving
The craft
So true… he talks about comedy like he’s some legendary comedian! If people don’t laugh at his jokes it’s because they’re “dumb and don’t understand comedy”. Like no bro you just suck!
Facts 🤣🤣🤣
That’s all he talks about nowadays that it became annoying af
he was in the trenches, carving his craft😂
Average drunk guy is 100% funnier than Joe Rogan
his comedic abilities are exposed in pretty much every theo von episode, joe is so literal
Yeah Theo is just casting spells and Joe misses every beat.
Literal Joe and Literal Jim
Jokes go over his head I wonder if he has autism
Macaulay caulkin was dropping reasonable zingers and so was Josh homme. That's how long ago I stopped watching. After that I watched a couple snips from one special he did and haven't watched his show since. Also, I'm pretty sure he's gay.
I'm right there with you, dude. Rogan is very bad at stand up comedy, crowds are easily manipulated by cadence, hence the laughter. It's not because it's funny it's because collectively, the audience feels compelled to laugh so they are participants of the show.
Yes! People saying “well everyone is laughing” yes they paid to be there ofc they’re gonna laugh
You're 💯 correct
People are either born funny or they're not. Joe was born a super serious, driven person. Funny people aren't like that at all. Funny people don't take life too seriously and they have a specific look about them. For an example jim carry and dave chappelle were born funny. Dave chappelle and Jim carry are naturally funny even off stage but Joe isn't like that. How Joe got the idea in his head that he is funny is beyond me. He built the greatest podcast in history so he has my respect in that regard but he sucks at being funny. That's my opinion..
You nailed it.
Perfectly said...
I see Joe as the cool guy, not the funny guy. He’s the guy that says to the funny guy, “yooo you’re funny as f*ck!!”
The shane gillis joke about being fired from snl but he could still be on Rogans podcast went right over Joes head. That was the worst of them
Sometimes I wonder if Joe is autistic because he takes those jokes so literal and he says he doesn’t have interests in things, he obsesses other them. I’m in the guy has three different jobs and he definitely has a lot of hyper fixations
I completely agree. Rogan seems like a genuinely cool and kind person, but his stand-up has a corny desperation to it that makes it unfunny and hard to watch. I think the main reason it's off-putting is because when he talks about the great comedians of the world, he always includes himself in that category. He seems to truly believe he's on the same level as guys like Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle. My best guess is that those other comedians just go along with it because he's fun to hang out with and have as a friend.
I 100% agree.
And when he gets comedians on his podcast; by the way he talks, I think he considers himself one of the greats.
He only fills venues because he’s so famous …
Joe equates loudness with funny
And stool humping
Same with Sam Kinison. I don't understand how people can listen to someone yelling at them for an hour.
Majority of us knew him from Fear Factor or the UFC, but he did standup before all of that. That says a lot
stand up wasnt mainstream until Joe Rogan's podcast got big. He single handedly made stand up popular
@@bc1173If Joe made stand up mainstream then why isn’t he the highest selling stand up comic? Stand up comedians been mainstream from Eddie Murphy to Jim Carrey

I've tried hard to pretend that Joe Rogan is a comedian while listening to him go on and on about his long comedy career on his podcast.... and I just couldn't do it, man. I'd look like I'm struggling to hold my breath every time.
He's exceptionally good though at mimicking animal voices. I'll give him that.
Rogan is the definition of a dullard. As you pointed out, he doesn't seem to get jokes or be particularly well-versed on any topic besides combat sports. He has interesting guests, but his contributions to discussions are usually saying "no way", "wow", or "craaazy" and cutting off guests before they get to the meat of whatever story they're telling. I actually dread when there's a guest on whom I really want to see, because there's a good chance Rogan won't ask the right questions or let the guest talk.
Guest: A high-level CIA agent admitted to me that they killed JF....
Rogan: [Interrupting] Don't you think it's weird how some people are known by their initials? Jamie, pull up examples of famous people known by their initials....
Very good point - appreciate this observation mate
There is a clip of 50 cent shitting on Nick Canon's rap career on TH-cam. He says something like ' Nick Canon is corny, he sucks, i don't know why he is so passionate about it' 😂 exactly how i feel about Rogan being so into comedy. He maybe the best interviewer ever and a great mma analyst, commentator but comedy wise he is cringe.
His sense of humor and joke style is high school cafeteria level and the type of sense of humor teenage boys would have. It’s not professional comedian level like Ricky Gervais or Richard Pryor and it’s awkward to see a middle aged man making and enjoying such immature jokes…
His funniest joke is telling people that he's a comedian
Lmao 😂😂
Best podcaster around, takes care of his circle and makes sure everyone he cares about is winning, seems like a nice enough dude overall… but whenever I hear him go on rants about the “art of comedy” when his act consists of humping chairs and screaming, I die inside every time.
Yep - he definitely rates himself a top comic but he’s a hack lets be honest
Exactly. I’ve always loved his podcast, I love the variety of guests he has had over the years but I’ve never cared for his standup. He’s really not funny at all
Chair humping is his craft, man
When ever he says “as a comic” I cringe hard af
I can remember one joke of his that ive laughed at. I normally cringe and get embarrassed for him. After that i laugh hard about how NOT funny he is
Rogans always laughing at his own jokes on the pod
I think he’s horrible. Knew him from Fear Factor and UFC but he’s not a comedian really, or a good one anyway. He likes to talk about the art of comedy but he sucks so bad.
Great video, very fair and logical.
Anyone here after burn the boats? This video makes even more sense now.
It’s not about Rogan missing the joke, it’s about another comedian taking the shine away from Joe. You can tell that’s what’s going on there. He likes to subtly assert his dominance by shutting down their momentum. If you look at it from a psychological perspective, it seems like an ego thing. Seems like short man syndrome manifest.
What do you mean?
@@constantravens4800 I broke it down perfectly. If you don’t understand what I’m saying you either have reading comprehension skills or your IQ restrictions are preventing you from understanding. I don’t know what to tell you.
Joe Rogan has the comedic intuition of cardboard
Who's here in August 24 after his burn the boats special? Him and his crew are taking over the internet for all the wrong reasons.
I've been saying this for years, and all my friends think I am an idiot. They are huge nut huggers of his podcast which is prob why. But you can seperate the two, he can be a shit comedian but a great podcaster. He has the best guests on his show, and thankfully he lets them talk. I don't particularly find Joe to be an intelligent man which is why it's great he lets his guests talk.
My favorite part of his podcast is when talented successful comedians throw jokes at him and he just deadpans it and says something like "thats not how that works. Actually jelly donuts are just dough wrapped around jelly". Ok Joe. 😉
Hahahahaha countless examples of this
I agree
I love watching his podcasts with guys like Joey Diaz, Theo, Burr, Segura, etc.
They are natural and funny conversations
But you couldn't pay me enough to watch one of the Rogan specials
I like Joey Diaz rambling on and on about some BS on the JRE podcast. Never seen or heard him ever doing stand-up and he's always way too stoned on his own podcast to make any sense, let alone be funny. Joe Rogan is similar, he's a good enough interviewer and he's way smarter than he lets on. But he's never been never funny.
Can't stand Joey Diaz. Makes sense though because Rogan thinks Diaz is hilarious.
I swear I was always asking myself if I was just too high to understand his comedy hahaha thank you bro
hahahahahahaha that was awesome
i think he knows this. thats why he has the comedy club, hes better at bringing comedians together than being the best comedian himself.
Interesting take!
I am not sure he knows this. He has elite comdians gassing him up . Most probably to be guests on his show. I would be believing that shit too if i was being told i was funny by some funny mfs.
joe missing theo vons jokes actually makes them funnier lmaoo
Spot on. He isn't funny at all and he doesn't even understand comedy. All he does is scream or hump stools. He ruins any bit on his podcast too because he doesn't get jokes
100% correct. J.R. has numerous very strong talents -- martial arts, commentating, and interviewing/podcasting -- but comedy isn't one of them. However, he has advanced comedy quite a bit by launching actual comedians into the spotlight.
Says it all when his funniest moments from his podcast is him making animal noises
Your comments never fail to hit the nail on the head 🫡
Which is weird cuz he’s got his own comedy spot but also not weird cuz he seems to think Brendan Shaun is funny
I like the way you frame your opinion by stating that you are self aware of your insignificant position in society. It’s honest. And it takes guts to put your opinion out there. Props
Ah thank-you so much! Rare to see such a nice comment haha, i’m fully aware that i’m just an online weasel like the rest of us :)
Are all these comments bots?
@@ArmchairexpertYT Not a fan of this idea that someone w/ their own channel, expressing their opinion, has to 1st bow their head & concede to their lowly station in life before their arguments can be taken seriously. It's unAmerican the way bootlicker fanboys of the rich & powerful attempt to discredit valid criticism simply because "you're not rich/ famous/ or successful enough", are just a "hater" or "jealous". It's a relatively recent & toxic development in our culture, which needs to end. Your opinion is not inherently of any lesser value.
Lol what a backhanded bozo you are
Would *love* to know what's going thru Theo's mind when Joe misses all of his damn jokes...
Not all his joke land with me, but I thought a few of his specials were hilarious. Its possible because I'm also from the east coast that his jokes and style resonate with me more, but to each their own, I guess.
Good point man, maybe it’s a cultural thing however I would argue good comedy is a universal language!
I'm from the east coast and I've never laughed once watching Rogans stand-up
Rogan is terrible. No matter where you are from he is awful.
@@ArmchairexpertYT Nah, I'm from the East Coast and he is still not funny. He's terrible at stand up. It's hard to watch.
If you're from the east coast, and you dropped out your sophomore year, and you work at a dispensary, and you think Sam Kinnison & Dice Clay are top notch..and your best 'going out' shirt is your Tikki Barber jersey...then Rogan is probably right up there with Dane Cook.
If he wasn't already famous no one would be laughing.
Joe “If I say it loud enough it must be funny” rogan
Yeah exactly, he has that screechy loud voice and it is the worst.
I wish Patrice O’Neal was still alive for many reasons. But a big reason is because I think comedy would be in a much better state. I feel like joe Rogan wouldn’t even be considered a comedian if Patrice was around. He would’ve unintentionally done the necessary gatekeeping to keep unfunny people out of the spotlight just by being himself. Most comics don’t say the truth about Joe because they’d rather kiss the ring and get exposure on the podcast.
If comedy was a scent you could smell, his comedy would be like a glass of water. There’s literally is nothing there!
Rogan was lucky. He just took Alex Jones' shtick then added sports, cigars, and elk meat. That made him King Alpha among 15yr old boys.
I have watched a few hours of his standups and didn't laugh one time. And the Worst thing about it is he thinks he is Hilarious.
I understand how some people can say they don't find him funny, but playing cricket noises over the crowd actually laughing is weird. Clearly, the people there find him funny
I knew Joe Rogan first as the host of Fear Factor. I didn’t realize he was a comedian until he started going after Carlos Mencia. My first thought at the time was “why does the Fear Factor guy care about some comedian?”
Joe Rogan is the definition of Right time right place
He is out of touch. He is as bad to real comedy, as Shuli from the Howard Stern show is bad to regular comedy. Both are the worst of the worst because neither understand how the public views them. Joe Rogan is not a real comedian...period. And Shuli is not a comedian at all.
His biggest crime is introducing some of the worst comedians and making them rich… now they are relevant and in continuing mission to destroy comedy.
We are fighting the good fight
Ya Ari Shaffir schaub n Bert come to mind
I was "lucky" to see Joe Rogan perform years ago in Birmingham UK. The UFC was here and he done a very small gig in Digbeth, there was probably no more than 50 of us in the room. It was cool to see Joe Rogan - but I wouldn't have called him a comedian.
Like other people have said - it's the fact that he preaches about comedy all the time and talks about it as though he is the king of comedy, that’s what makes it embarrassing.
I thought it was ironic in the Jimmy Carr episode on JRE when Jimmy Carr was talking about imposter syndrome.
He’s the Adam Sandler of comedy, he just surrounds himself with funnny people
Yeah but wouldn't Adam Sandler be the Adam Sandler of comedy
People are laughing at his "jokes"? Strange. He's as funny as a pet rock.
"Hey Jamie, pull up that video of me doing unfunny standup."
He's become the Amy Schumer of right wing comedy
I HAVE THOUGHT THIS FOR YEARS
SAME
Keep up these kind of vids. I think you’ve got good awareness on these topics (you’re in tune with us) and clearly the talent to produce this kind of shit as well. The audience is out there, you’ll be big
@@DannyWonder very kind thanks mate
Wow. Joe Rogan and Brendan Shaub sound the exact same.
feels like honest torture having to sit through rogan standup...honestly...
To be fair to Joe, just because there are comedians on there a lot, he doesn't run a comedy podcast. It's actually a pretty serious discussion most of the time, so he's not always on the lookout for a joke coming his way.
To be fair a stand-up comedian should catch jokes no matter what they are preoccupied with. And if you have comedic guests on you should expect jokes to be made. Get off his rod you dork
Exactly what I was thinking.
if he brings a comedian on i guarantee hes not expecting serious conversation. even if im wrong he should still be able to riff with another comedian when they start jesting
You seem to suggest that he doesn't get humor?@@buzzkill808raven2
He throws out the most mundane, cliche philosophical realization, as if it's a joke, then he seriously over explains it. Lol he'd be like "I just got soo damn hungry, guess from what guys.... WEEEEED BAHAHAHAHAAA get it cause Munchies?" Then he'd go into a rant about how weed chemicals makes one hungrier, and then tries to wrap it all up as if it's a joke
Mistake made around @5:15
"Joe's understanding of conversational comedy isn't on the same level as the average *person*. "
Rogan was a good sitcom actor and he's a good conversationalist but someone lied to him at a young age and told him he would be a good Stand Up comic and he fell for it, hard. He is not funny at all.
I get that about his early days, but I don’t think it applies for his latest work. I watched his recent specials, and yea there are some bad jokes, but overall it was pretty funny.
I think however that watching his podcasts a lot where he seems to be way more serious can interfere with the persona one can have about him, and it applies a little to all comedians i watch in a serious podcast, I tend to find them a little less funnier afterwards. Maybe it’s something about knowing how the magic works.
A true magician never reveals they’re secrets!

I can’t stand those people who jump on the chance to correct somebody but this is a solid video and i have good intent. The one mistake is you said “Yes, Comedy is objective” and even showed the word “Objective” on the screen. Probably too late to edit this but for future content or even saying it in life, using the word “Objective” is saying something has factual evidence proving that it’s true. So when watching this video, people hear you saying “Rogan is not a good comedian . And Yes, I know this is a proven fact and not up for debate so don’t even try” when you meant “Subjective” because that is judging something that you can’t prove one way or another so you can only go by personal opinion, an individual perspective. Sorry about that but otherwise I have always agreed, have turned his comedy off whenever trying to watch, there are a few chuckles maybe and then it’s just too much and then I check out, the yelling guy is making me look for a new energy. At times I almost feel bad because he’s on stage wound up like a yellow lab puppy, desperately wanting people to pat him. I don’t have a strong opinion on his podcast, have listened to a few, guest dependent, he’s obviously good at it. I will say the newer his stand up is, the better it will be. Still not amazing, not sure if all the credit goes to him for that even right? I’m sure he is big enough to get help with his sets now… Right?
The punchline is shouting.
Oh yeah completely. I can honestly say that I’ve never laughed at his comedy and often cringe which is a feeling I hate. He does have a decent podcast and he pretty much invented the format and he can take a joke and when he laughs it’s cool to watch. Also I really respected the defense of free speech in the beginning but now I find this current martyrdom against cancel culture played out and really fucking annoying.
His fawning wife told him, “you’re sooo funny, you could be a famous Comedian”.
Glad to see these videos, there need to be MANY MORE, his insanely overblown opinion of comedian’s importance in the world is the funniest thing he’s ever said
The Shaq guarding the White house bit was decent..
That's about it.
I like when he talks about the craft of being a comedian
He’s really not a shit comedian. He REALLY understands the craft. It’s just because we’ve watched him for thousands and thousands of hours on his podcast it’s like watching your family member on stage. It’s always gonna be cringey
I didn't even know he was a comedian. I thought he was famous from Fear Factor and the UFC. Recently saw some clips of his comedy. It was painful to watch
It baffles me that he’s even considered a comedian, I honestly think EVERYONE knew he sucked back in the day but they knew he could kick their ass if they told him how horrible he is
He's pretty fucking funny on his podcast. The chimps bit is a classic and the one where he's making fun of Bryan callen's youtube yoga instructor is my all time favorite moment of his.
so you're ten
@@stuart6478 You likely have no sense of humor. Go watch some of his funniest podcast bits. He's at his absolute best during his podcasts.
BTW. Logic is the foundation of joke writing. Even a silly or goofy observation must be structured using solid internal logic. Theo's a perfect example. He has his own bizarre logic & the undestanding & skill to communicate it in a way that "makes sense" to an audience. It's what makes him funny.
Bro what
@@notreallyafamousartist695 That you, Joe ? 😂
I don’t think he made a career in comedy. He tried. Failed. Did reality TV. Failed. Then did the podcast. That blew up....then went back to comedy with his hype.
A lot of things are subjective, for instance 4 thousand people choose to listen to you, the rest of us only clicked on your video because it was about joe Rogan
i know him from the podcast and i was curious about him doing jokes, but i am so disappointed man... i agree with you, he is NOT funny. boring as hell. btw its freaking superficial what u say about his bald head and i hope u will get one too so u wont judge people for their looks anymore.
The crickets actually make his jokes pretty funny!
Could not possibly agree more. He's great at a lot of things, but how he started out and remained in comedy is completely beyond me. And what is with the oversized dress shirts? The man can afford to have his shirts tailored to the length of the average 8 year olds shit. He can afford it and he should do it because the shirts may be the funniest thing about his stand up.
Baggy bald boy
It's the same reason he wears lifts and sits in a highchair on JRE. He thinks it somehow hides his dwarf proportions.
He's clearly intelligent and has an extremely successful podcast. However, l have to say that l do not find him funny in the slightest.
Who finds him funny?
I'm a big UFC fan and I started watching UFC since UFC 1 as a teenager. I like Joe Rogan as a commentator he makes the big PPV events seem bigger. From there I started watching his podcast 10 years ago and really liked it and it has gotten better. So of course I wanted to watch his comedy since Joe is always talking about his comedy craft. Joe's stand up is awful. Joe isn't a funny guy. I rarely laugh at anything he says when he is trying to be funny on the podcast. I found it funny when Louis CK stand up he was working on got leaked and Joe said it wasn't bad but that CK was still working on it. That clip of CK's raw comedy bit that CK was still working on was funnier than Joe's entire body of work as a stand up comedian.
Guest:if something would try to eat me, I would be so upset, I think.
Joe Rogan: yeah... did you see that lady that got in trouble cause she shot a Giraffe?
100% agree with your assessment. As a matter of fact I was doing a you-tube search to find this exact type of conversation about his lack of funniness. I was wondering is it me? This guy is not only not funny - but rather the opposite. Glad to see I'm not alone! 🙂
Finally some one that sees the same thing I was thinking all this time. Dont get me wrong I love his podcast!! The best out there, but comedy wise he is mediocre.
WE ARE THE SAME
His podcast is cringe too

You’re not wrong!
Thanks ORPHAN RAY!
Went to see his show a few years ago and i can honestly say i dont think i laughed once, i figured maybe because i watched his podcast and already roughly knew where he was going , i donno but it was rough
He is not a top comic but he is not the worst either. I think he is well aware of that himself since he always have great comics as openers and goes far to help other comics.
Some people make it large just from pure networking skills.. I think joe rogan and dj Khalid are definitely true to this.. makes you really think about how valuable of a skill that is and how people never realise it
It's pretty difficult to take this seriously when you don't even know the difference between objective and subjective.
Lol im the armchair expert for a reason Patrick
Let’s face it .. he was mainly known for fear factor and UFC, not because of his comedy.
No one ever says it but Brendan Shaub mirrored his comedy after rogan and gets shitted on professionally 😂
I remember hearing him almost 20 years ago and me and my friend were making fun of him.
What's hilarious is, you think by now with all that time he would've gotten better!😅🤦
It's the "Jim Norton Virus". He is the same way, a great third mic but in my opinion an atrocious comedian. If he wasn't able to promote his dates on Opie and Anthony as he entered the comedy world, he would not be a comedian today.
Very good comparison
I don’t think he’s funny, I think he’s unfunny…
That’s the same thing, genius.
To everyone hating on Joe’s comedy. Who is the best comedian currently in your opinion?
Yeah I’ve always thought he’s more funny when he’s on his podcast and not trying to do stand up, an I always think to myself how is he “this famous funny comedian” that he always brags about an then I watch his specials and I can’t laugh I feel like he’s trying too hard and his style of comedy isn’t that funny to begin with
