I have obstructive sleep apnea. I have used a CPAP machine for years. I started on compound trepzrepide in March of 2024, and paid out of pocket. I have lost 42 lbs so far, half way to my goal. I have Tri Care health insurance. Tri Care covers obesity meds but Tri Care denied me the first few times my doctor tried to get me approved. The way she got TriCare to finally approve me was the fact I have sleep apena. I never thought in a million years I would be greatful to have obstructive sleep apena, but looking at it as a blessing in disguise now. 🌟
⭐️ I’m down 29 pounds so far on Zepbound and my Sleep Apnea has improved tremendously. It improved for me immediately before any significant weight loss which amazed me. Two years on a cpap and I started getting nights with Zero apnea events right away after starting Zepbound, never once experienced that in the two years prior.
Praying PCP can get per authorization since I’ve had sleep apnea for about 8 years. I’m on Medicare so it will be more difficult to get authorized 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yes my snoring has greatly decreased according to my husband. But I sleep very poorly. I got my Oura ring to keep an eye on it and yes it proved I have crappy sleep. I have tried the MG you recommended but no help. I average 5 to six hours per night. I have tried all over the counter meds and nothing helps. But I am so very happy that my snoring has improved. Blessings to the family during this Christ filled time.
2036 for trizepatide to go generic but there are also formulation patents which extend it out to 2039.....going to be a minute before generics are on the market

UHC didn’t want to pay for an in lab sleep study. They basically told me to die in my sleep…. I’m not too hopeful insurance will be willing to pay for zepbound over a cpap machine.

I saw a few days ago that Zepbound was approved for treating moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. I was diagnosed with mild or slight so not sure that my insurance will cover it for me. It is worth checking though and I'll be getting in touch with my doctor again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I have had severe OSA for years. I was diagnosed 17 years ago. The chief of the department said it was the worst he’d ever seen. The sleep I did get was useless. I stopped breathing once a minute. When my PCP’a office was doing my prior approval for Zepbound I had them put OSA as a diagnosis in addition to Obsesity and pre diabetes and it was approved right away. I sleep with a CPAP machine I noticed I’m not as tired during the day as I used to be before starting my Zepbound journey. I’m a turtle so my weight loss is slow. I started Sep. 6th and lost 16 lbs so far. I took my last 5mg last Friday. I’m going up to 7.5 this week. Currently I pay $10/month for my Zepbound. That will change soon. I’m covered by my soon to be ex husbands insurance. Same insurance I’ve had for 21 years. For the first time I will get coverage through my employer. I’m hoping the Zepbound FDA approval for OSA will help with the cost. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 we’ll see.

💫⭐️🌟 The "standard" time a patent lasts is 20 yrs... Accountability- I made a wonderful meal of halibut with citrus basil salsa, and a side of broccoli for my holiday meal. I was so excited to eat it! I know how happy I will feel when I get on the scale, not having eaten my usual 8000 calorie holiday meal, treats and desserts! I don't think I've been on Mounjaro long enough for it to help my sleep apnea yet. I didn't even know what sleep apnea was until I saw my fitbit readings, and wondered if it had anything to do with me not being able to sleep on my back anymore. I noticed after shoulder surgery that I couldn't exhale while on my back. I had no idea what it was until I looked up "why can't I exhale, after I inhale, while lying on my back" I can't wait to tell my Dr on Jan 3rd that we now have an easier route to get my next prescription covered!! Oooh how this is going to cause another BIGGER shortage in the future!

Elizabeth, the chocking while sleeping is a sure sign of sleep apnea! Please try to go do you sleep study before you lose anymore weight. At some point you will have lost enough to not qualify for sleep apnea! The CPAP isn't really that bad 😜
I was about to comment the same thing. She definitely had sleep apnea. Before I started using CPAP I would wake up feeling like I was being choked by my own neck.

So I have an appointment with my primary to get me tested for sleep apnea on the 15th of January so I can go back on Zepbound
Many insurances have not put Zepbound on the list as far as having sleep apnea and obesity. Check with your insurance company.
