i love how this show incorporates actually tough topics into the plot without making it triggering or overly dramatic. it’s able to be a comfort show while still discussing real issues that a lot of teenagers face!
They balance it really well!
Sebastian Croft seems like such a chill dude in real life, and even he detests Ben, his own character. He's joked in interviews, "I want to punch his face, and it's MY face."

Have you ever thought about the absolute crushing realisation Charlie must've gone through with Nick's coming out? Like, I'm sure he was super glad and happy that Nick didn't go through what he did, but I can just imagine the moment his brain went "so it was never about being gay, they just never liked me"...

Though I do feel like/very much hope that he would mostly let the relief that Nick didn't have to deal with any of that override that feeling💛Plus, realistically I think Nick having a better experience being out was probably a combination of the fact that by that point it wasn't such a "novelty" and that, at least with Harry in particular, Harry already knew and looked up to, if not even idolized, Nick, so psychologically it was a lot easier for him to be awful to Charlie who he didn't know at all than it would be for him to turn around and start treating Nick like that.
But yeah, even though there are logical reasons why their experiences would be different, that still wouldn't make it hurt any less for Charlie to have been the one who had to bare the brunt of all the cruelty!

At the end of the season I couldn't trust how 'wholesome' it was and when Charlie left Nick's house I was legit screaming in my head

The music was making me feel like someone bad was gonna happen, maybe get hit by a car? Can't trust netflix with happy endings

I didn't notice in the first watch but look at the bully - 37:38 He's not participating and almost looks ashamed to be there, then looks PROUD of Nick's comeback. No gold star, but very interesting. I wanna see where that goes in season 3
You mean Harry? Who unexpectedly sticks up for N&C? Yeah, he has at this point figured out why Nick is so loyal to Charlie, he's started to realize that his homophobia is costing him social status rather than increasing it, and he does genuinely believe, as he told Charlie on the bus, that the hickey is a badge of honor! He's still trying to recapture Nick's friendship and has changed his tactics. His later apology isn't genuine enough for Charlie to let him in to Tara's birthday party, but his redemption arc is just beginning - I'm confident we'll see him grow up a bunch in S3. :)
@@hollymcl Like Rizzo kept saying, "they're just kids". Hopefully Charlie's rejection keeps him thinking and he comes around sooner than later but I like how realistic it's being portrayed so far. Change and growth isn't linear, takes time and continuous effort 🥰
I will miss Bash in Season 3. However, his character has triggered everyone enough 😂

No, in the Heartstopper books, a few boys are allowed to attend & do their Senior year at Higgs (which is mostly populated by girls)… and girls can do their Senior year at Truham.

Honestly, although I would do my best to not out somebody in any scenario, my main thought about Nick not telling Imogen was not even that it would out Ben. I forgot that was even an option. I thought that the issue was that it was revealing Charlie's assault, which is much worse and something that should be within his power to control information about. Not to mention that assault is never about attraction anyway so Ben could've assaulted Charlie and been straight.

Such a great reaction, love both of your friendship..so cool that Rizzo guessed the Ace plot line as a straight guy...I mean Im gay granted, older and even I had to educate myself on what that even fully meant.
I don't know whether you have done this or not, but can I recommend American Horror story. It's an anthology series and honestly it's one of the weirdest shows I've ever seen- in a good way. I know it's a popular show, so you may have seen it but I honestly think you'll like it as you've done Horror on the channel before.
