In my fantasy life where I have a ton of money I wouldn't have to cry over that Nakaya. Gorgeous.

The Nakaya Extra Broad and Platinum Coarse are actually the same size as far as marking goes. In Japanese both are labeled as 極太, which translates to extra broad. There isn't a separate Platinum double broad that I am aware of except in case of retailers like jetpens marketing the C nib as double broad. You should try the C nib on the Platinum President if you ever get the chance.

Thank you! I did not know that.

Pilot on the other have does have B, BB, and C (which would be BBB but it’s not called that). That’s probably where the confusion comes in.

Thank you so much for showing the difference between the C and BB nibs. I absolutely LOVE my C nibs on my Platinums.

I just got the 3776 in C nib and I totally agree with you!

    Wow.
That blue dragon is even better up close... It also looks green on my monitor, but who's complaining.. looks fine in green too.
    Thanks for sharing, Azizah

Thank you, Azizah. Very entertaining and informative and great eye-candy. I especially like the body of the Nakaya Blue Dragon. Wow. I do have a Platinum 3776 with a Course Nib (that was described as a Double Broad). I'm not sure I could tell a difference, but, you're correct, it is an awesome writer. I'm not sure it would be my top choice for everyday writing, but a "good golly that's beautiful ink" writing, it excels. I use a lot of broad nibs, but my routine penmanship (such as it is) is a bit too small for a Coarse nib. But, it unquestionably adds a wow factor.
Edit to add: Oh, I meant to mention that I guessed correctly on the Delft Blue Ink. I'm going to have to invest in a bottle of that sometime soon.

"Oh my gawd you guys, you have no idea what's happening to me." Well I am a guy, so I do have an idea and that's as far as I'm going.
Yer killin' me with that Nakaya Blue Dragon, so please never show it again.
At the end I couldn't tell a difference in the writing. 😎

Fun. And I know it’s about the nibs, but those are amazing pens. See? Told you I’d watch. 😀

"......I look at this and I can hardly function because it's so sexy."
Now there is a quote of the century😆😆😆😆
This is one entertaining review!!! Seriously, it is.
Not a fan of the nib sizes but the pens are very exquisite. That Nakaya Long Cigar is practically an ICBM (Inter Continental Ballistic Missle) compared to the 3776.
    Great video!!!
    Love your enthusiasm and humor.
    Keep up the great work.

Those are two of the most beautiful modern pens I've seen. (The platinum looks tiny.) I'm not a big fan of serious nibbage in terms of size. I just can't envision a use for them, but I could probably surf in the wake of the double-broad. Does it not leak through that paper?
I'm wondering if I can cover a metal pen in blue lacquer, carve it with a dremel, then re-cover it clear lacquer.

Did you have to leave a security deposit when your friends let you borrow those fountain pens? Thank you for the lovely penmanship.

I love the look of those wet lines, but I use my fountain pens in the office at work, and the cheap-ass photocopy paper they use will just murder my handwriting. Even a Japanese Medium often causes some feathering. And I don't want my pens just sitting in the cupboard collecting dust. So thank you, but I'll stick to F & M nibs for now.
Also: Try not to drool over those pens _too_ much. They're liable to start corroding.

  • @NeutralGrounder

I thought a coarse was a double broad

    • @peterpuleo2904
      @peterpuleo2904 5 ปีที่แล้ว

It is but it is engraved "C" on the nib. I don't think it is "coarse".

Coarse is triple broad. Both pilot and platinum have coarse as well as double broad and in their comparison samples, coarse is broader.

Hello. It is just my sweater - it's built in. You can always look up compression sleeves online. That might be an option :)
