Still working on the tune for E85 cold starts, switched from Cobb to EcuTek now. Many more features and parameters to mess with. Car is FBO Switzer P800, built by TSM, tuned by Will Taylor.
It has a much lower thermal efficiency than gasoline. Roughly 30% more e85 is required to produce the same energy as gasoline but the octane rating is higher
I know this is a necrobump; but e85 starts up slower because of its massive cooling effect. BUT It can be tuned out!! Because of the ethanol vapourising after it is injected, it can cool the inlet air, stopping further vapourisation. Remember, spark plugs cant ignite liquid fuel, they can only ignite vapours. When the engine is cranking, the throttle is closed, and the fuel injectors fire every rotation. So eventually there is enough fuel around to ignite, which is why it stumbled up to life, then died. But now that there is heat from the first fire, the fuel can vapourise much easier, and it fires right back up when it has cranking enrichment again. The tuning solution is to increase the cranking fuel enrichment 300% over your gasoline numbers. And then after it fires add 50% enrichment decaying to 0% enrichment over 15 seconds. (this is additional and seperate to your cold coolant enrichment offset) All my e85 cars start flawlessly in the freezing temperatures. My own cars arent even flex tuned, theyre solo e85. Hope this helps!!!
Scorny Motorsports no software. stock ecu. Not tuned. Just have a cold air intake. It literally is just like yours It takes just as long as yours to crank and I have to spam or hold the gas pedal to get the car to start. When I have it started up and turn it off and turn it right back on it’s easy and doesn’t take long at all
It's so cute... i want too but my parents don't let me to have one... they always saying excuses like" you don't have a driving lesson" and things like that
TheFastLaneCars yes the E85 was causing slow cold starts on Cobb. It needed more fine tuning. We have since switched to EcuTek and the cold starts are much faster!

Doggo activates the ring of luck
before anyone says that his car is broken... its not.. E85 cold starts always take a few seconds of cranking and/or a couple of attempts
Yup it was back when the car first was flex fuel tuned, much better now
Mine doesn't
@@coryce258 I highly doubt that, but ok
@@chaoszombie9995 is it like a fuel or ignition issue thing ? Idk😂😂
I blew up my LFX motor because the E85 was ending up in the crankcase.
Catch can solved the issues.
That collie is like me when a GTR fires up close by!
Australian Shepard?
Two things I love most in this world - dogs and GTRs
What a joy to se your dog do that when he hears the sound of hapiness

Haha he’s trained pretty well. Only jumps on people!
My STI on E85 also hates cold starts on the corn juice. Only gets worse with the winter months too, small price to pay for so much fun!

Would you be able to tell me what exhaust you have on this? I love the sound and how it sticks out an inch or two. Looks amazing
Thank you, honestly not sure. It was originally a Switzer P800 that we bought. It’s an early iteration of AAM system.

Doggo is heckin excite
the dog is insane xD
My car does that too when it takes a long time to crank and I have to give it throttle to start up.
Brady Sanchez what kind of software do you have yours tuned on?
Scorny Motorsports no software. stock ecu. Not tuned. Just have a cold air intake. It literally is just like yours It takes just as long as yours to crank and I have to spam or hold the gas pedal to get the car to start. Should probably take it for a compression test
It's so cute... i want too but my parents don't let me to have one... they always saying excuses like" you don't have a driving lesson" and things like that
Didn't TSM tune it as well? They are pretty much the gold standard when it comes to tuning aside from Rob Harper out in Dubai.
Yes they tuned it previously on Cobb after the build, with e85/flex fuel set up, we wanted more features so went with EcuTek.
@@cscorny One word...Motec ;)
@@jpreyes1028 lol not necessary on a build like this
probably the only V6 that sounds like that i mean very specific like whoosh whoosh whoosh you hear it?

Awesome congrats! What year?
Why does it start so badly? It sounds hella good but why the starting issues? E85 causing it?
TheFastLaneCars yes the E85 was causing slow cold starts on Cobb. It needed more fine tuning. We have since switched to EcuTek and the cold starts are much faster!
Scorny Motorsports ahh I see! Sounds beautiful tho!

Ok :)
Nice dog, awesome car :v
Das freut sich sogar der Hund
Lovely Dog♥
Nice v6
Thx
Dog hypnotized lol
What the dog doin 🤣
Why the GTR take a long time to starts?
Samurasa Ethanol fuel!
@@cscorny Hmm, here in Brazil most of the cars are Flex Fuel (Gas/Ethanol)
Samurasa this car was not designed to run flex fuel from factory. We were fine tuning the cold start for flex fuel/E85. It now fires a lot quicker!
@@cscorny Awesome, btw, can u post more GTR videos? Thanks :-)
Samurasa for sure! I’m an auto detailer, so I’ll post some of cleaning the car as well as driving!

Ja ja ja ja este perro si es curioso
Good afternoon...
Careful with that engine compression, it’s low!
Do you still own the gtr sir? Because i saw ur 2 m's in your garage, and thought about it
what wheels! i need those for my gtr!
Why does it have a long crank time and even stops right after starting & when you shift into gear?
Hi, please read comments below
hate the noisy clutch on these
It’s actually the bell housing/flywheel making noise
What was the temperature on this day?
What are the specs on those wheels? They look great.
