Those cabinet doors are awesome! Particularly like the recessed hardware, very cool! I thought that the best part of the video though was becoming rich! Clearly, you are making memories that are priceless!
Lovely to see you both again. You 2 should be SO proud! Followed you right from buying it (was also thinking of moving back to UK and doing same) but back to subject, Have you 2 ever took a sunday afternoon and just skipped through a few episodes and see what an incredible journey you both have been on. Also it shows what a great couple you 2 are.. When you both work together in hard times (I don't mean financially but in living, self lived in a mobile home yrs ago without running water etc. it's hard!) So I can only give you my total admiration and say you both should be very proud of yourselves and each other! well done and good to see you :-)
What a lovely comment so thankyou Paul. We always talk about sitting down one day and binge watching from the start. Because I edit the vlogs I get to see them in great detail but Ady rarely gets to watch the whole vlog through so It will be great when we do. The kids love watching the ones they were in and often say how cute they looked when they were young hahaha (making us realise how long it has taken us hahaha). Yes we think we have done well working together. Since we met nearly 12 years ago we have mostly lived in tiny spaces and off grid and never had any big proper arguments. Also most people don't realise we have lived on the boat from the beginning of the fit out when it was just a steel shell and nothing else and moved on on the 9th January a couple of weeks after it was built. We had a blow up bed, our rucksacks, a bucket and a bag of tools. We were freezing. It was harsh but that way we could work in our boat through lockdown away from people and that was great. Thanks again 👍
My what a fabulous load of treasure that the Grandchildren got magnet fishing, I bet that they were thrilled. Well done Grandad with those doors and lining up the catches, I'd have just used magnetic ones that don't have to be fitted so accurately. I also liked "Grandad's?" smoothing trowel. Great to have a "proper" video back!
Cheers Tony 👍 Yes we had a great day out that day. Yes we looked at trying magnets but decided they would not be strong enough for the weight of the doors. We done the doors quite a while ago and i have had the footage waiting to be edited. When it came to editing I couldn't find a lot of the footage which was a shame because it was quite funny trying to line up the clips 🤣
Grandad what do you think of the American True Bond you are using compared to UK wood glues , l were thinking of trying it , They say it's better .cheers Dave
Great work as ever, is there anything that you have done that you feel now needs tweaking or has everything worked out just as planned? When do you plan to be out on the Cut, I think you wont have missed the Tow Path in this weather!! Have a great week.
Cheers Gary, We had a chat about this the other week and couldn't think of anything we would change inside but we would of changed some things with the steel build. We would of had our gas lockers slightly bigger and our wrap around stern a bit higher so the seating could be a bit higher at the back. Also perhaps made the stern area a bit bigger giving a bit more space outside. We are still in the marina waiting for a big silt bank that formed across the Trent from all the floods to be moved to enable passage again. I think they are still waiting for the river to calm down and any flooding to stop before they can start the work. 👍
Another master class in cabinetry. Can I ask is this a current or previous profession? Always a pleasure to see you both working on the boat. We took the plunge and bought a 70 footer. Moored up in Leicestershire and move-in Tuesday 19th. Hope to meet you out on the water sometime and please, keep them videos coming. İnspiration to many, myself included.❤
Cheers Karl 👍 Ady was a Gas Engineer for most of his working life and also worked in Fire stopping (adding materials etc on new buildings to stop the speed and spread of fires). He is very handy at most things in the building trade and has built many things from kitchens to a loft extension self learning as he went. My background is design and making of anything from fashion, interiors , props and costume. I also worked teaching Art, crafts and Dance. between us we work really well. I like to design and work out how exactly I would like it made. Then we work together making it. Grandad is great and much better on the tools and the main building and i'm better at the finishes so together it has worked out well (we think 🤣). Have a great time on your boat, a 70 footer wow, I am very envious 👍
@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg Being a bit of a seamstress myself, I appreciate your work as well. Almost the same skill and art as cabinet making, with less dust lol. Only bought a 70 because we couldn't or wouldn't sift through and condense our crap lol. Plus a 70 just means more to clean and worry about. Keep up the good work, you both make my day when you release a new vlog. Its a good excuse for me to relax, have a cuppa and chill out. 😁
Grandad bit late but if you have anymore sealing with mastic and you need to use the small tool again keep it clean and wet randomly it will finish smooth and less messy to work with………..hang on why am I give advice to a professional you have just built the best narrow boat ever 🫢 🤪
Great job on the cupboards around the back steps Grand Dad. As always Nanny praising your work. Glad you are back.
Cheers Keith 👍

We think Tight Bond is great David and has been the best glue we have tried 👍
