Your new floor is beautiful! My husband and I have laid 3/4 inch gunstock oak throughout our two story home and are so proud of what we've accomplished. Whenever you sweep or mop, give yourselves a pat on the back. You've earned it! All the best from Missouri.
Thankyou for those kind words. wow I bet that looks amazing. Hard work but yes you should be proud. There is something special about doing something yourselves and being pleased with the result. You will see in part 2 just how pleased we are with ours 👍
Cheers 👍 Yes the flood gates are shut again because of more flooding. It seems like it's never ending. We have been fine in this marina but are starting to go a bit stir crazy now and are really ready to get cruising again. Hopefully soon 👍
Congratulations on your viewing numbers. I noted that some jobs were too critical to leave for Grandad to do. Couldn't quite work out how those hatches went, I assume that they're flush with the floor surface and not protruding above it. How unusual laying the floorboards crossways and not longitudinally, they look great though. Isn't that nail hammering tool wonderful, never seen one before. Those pop groups I've never heard of a lot of them, shows my age doesn't it? Hopefully Reggie recovered quickly.
Cheers 👍 yes you will see in part 2 this week that the hatch lids are flush to the floor. I didn't explain it very well in this vlog when i said up and over. I meant that the finished hatch would overlap the cut in the ply of the subfloor to help stop dust getting into the floor lockers. Hope part 2 shows it a bit better 👍. Yes Reggie is well again at the moment. He suffers quite bad with his throat bless him.
Congratulations at achieving 3000 subscribers!🎉🎉🎉 Impressive work has been done, to a level that afterwards nobody will notice what a jigsaw puzzle that was.😮 Nice details referring to the past and into the future.❤
hahaha I actually asked him to run up and down in his high heels to rough them up a bit so they look a bit old and worn. He didn't want to twist his ankle on camera 🤣🤣🤣
That must of been a real pain. Luckily for us we were not laying our boards lengthways otherwise we would of had a few problems. We only noticed it when we went to join the cut offs to put behind the sofa so it didn't matter 👍
Those toe nailers are fantastic aren’t they? Can I ask a question? How does your floor feel underfoot in the winter? I watched all the episodes and I like how you did the subfloor. Thank you.
Yes a handy bit of kit eh. We think the insulation in the floor has worked really well for us because we can feel a difference when we stand on the hatch covers over the floor lockers (that have no insulation in) compared to the rest of the floor. The floor is still colder than the rest of the boat when we are barefoot especially the tiles in the bathroom in winter but we do think the insulation was worth putting in👍
Cheers 👍. I can't work out why it has done it other than that it was a longer video. The first upload showed it had uploaded as 480 so I went back to imovie and checked everything and saved it again as 1080. Then when I uploaded it to youtube for the second time it wouldn't do it in HD. I can't work out why it was different to usual and when I uploaded Part 2 (that you will see this week) it done it as SD and HD. I am not computer savvy so when something goes wrong I don't know how to correct it. fingers crossed it don't happen again 👍
Hello Henry, We are keeping her forever we hope. If we ever fitted out a boat to sell we would definitely keep it much more simple. This was a project for us to keep and so we wanted to have a go at making everything ourselves as much as we could 👍

Nana your going to have to watch granddad with his stilettos on the wooden floor 😂😂😂
hahaha I actually asked him to run up and down in his high heels to rough them up a bit so they look a bit old and worn. He didn't want to twist his ankle on camera 🤣🤣🤣
@@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg reggie says granddad is superman !
l had quality issues with tiles once from B&Q they were a mill or 2 different in size ,made the job really hard work , unacceptable really , David

Great update on flooring. One question… how did you manage to hire a floor nailer that didn’t jam up after every other nail? 😂😂😂😂
Cheers John, hahaha we think we escaped that one really well as It didn't jam once 👍

All this work you've done, you must be getting ready to sell ?
