- Not a full tutorial on entire project since most of this is available already. Prior to starting I couldn't find a lot of info specifically on the 2014 Optima bearing. I was able to remove and replace bearing without a press and without a vice but you need a few things to do that. I wasn't real clear in video that you need to rent or buy a bearing adapter kit. I used an Astro 78825. You'll need an impact along with that kit to install the bearing if you don't have a vice. This is straightforward reassembly and I didn't include (see link below he explains). But what I failed to mention in video was I also used these discs to drive the old bearing out. I also say "grinding wheel" but what I meant was to say was cutoff disc. Just take your time and don't cut through to the hub shaft. Use this as a reference:(. • Kia Sedona - Front whe... ) ..much more thorough and professionally done. Its for a Sedona but very similar to Optima other than the differences I point out.

LOL!! "Actually came out pretty easy with just a sledge hammer". Great video, thanks for posting, really helped!
Thanks,am doing this for someone on a 2016 sportage.looks identical.going use my grinder as you did.preciate it.
You can heat that inner race with a torch and give it a strike with a hammer and chisel at a downward angle and it'll fall right off. A blue bottle torch from the hardware store works just fine.
Why did u replace it...
I'm having a heck of a time trying to get this assembly back on my 2011 kia optima lx. Everything your showing me has already been done by a friend of mine and a mechanic he knows that has a press. I can slide the assembly back on the axle but need to go another 1/4" or so further. Just cannot figure out what is causing the restriction. Do you have another video you show installing this assembly?
Sorry just saw this comment so I'm a week late. I don't remember any specific issues with reinstall and I did not video that portion. Click on the link in my description above as I remember that being very thorough. Of course you probably already figured it out.
This is why the ships will charge you an arm and a leg for this.
Slide hammer works better
That's not how you do it.
