wow, this is basically the deck i built. ive got traxos in place of herald and key to the city instead of treasure map for filtering. you’re totally right about that 3-drop slot though, i ended up with aethersphere harvester, plenty of karnstructs to crew with. weaponcraft is a bit of a hot take though, i hadn’t even considered it. nice one. it’s cool for me. when i first started magic (pre kaladesh) i built around your budget RG wolves deck, now a whole rotation later i put together a deck in line with one of yours. thanks man, keep on keeping it real

I built basically this same deck, pre-Karn, and what I had in my 3-drop slot is Tezzeret's Touch. I also had a couple Ornithopters and a Hope of Ghirapur. The plan was to either T3 Tez Touch an artifact and start beating in OR T4 Herald. With Zahid I now have a third T3-4 5/5 flying beater attack plan. Tezzeret is SOOOO underrated. One of my favorite PWs ever. Often I have TezTouch an Ornithopter T3, swung for 5, then T4 drop Tez, -2 him to PUMP my flyer, and swing for 8-9. Really hard to come back from that.
I'm going to put this together. Things that could tune it in different directions: Artificer's Assistant, Inspiring Statuary, Scrap Trawler, Workshop Assistant, Hostage Taker, Dire Fleet Poisoner, Warkite Marauder, Kitesail Freebooter, Fungal Infection, Sailor of Means, Spell Swindle, Mishra's Self-Replicator, Deadeye Plunderers, Prying Blade, Trophy Mage. Sideboard: Padeen Consul of Innovation,Torment of Hailfire, Marionette Master, Cruel Reality, and Vraska, Scheming Gorgon.
We do got that knight that deals 2 when you cast an historic. Even though we got the red two drop artificer from kaladesh that deals one. Also since improvise is powerful. We can use damping sphere to slow down our players. Possibly we could play a grixis artifacts deck. Possibly we need the kingpin and that scary bird in domimaria for deck fixing.
I have a WU deck thats more historic then artifacts but the big thing is that artificer’s assistant can be really helpful for digging through your deck

Thoughts on using bomat courier in the 1 drop slot as well? with the treasures you get + renegade maps you could probably just run 1 r source for the sac outlet. Would also not be dead on the field late game cuz you could use it to tap for improvise. Nice way to refill your hand for all those cheapo artifacts you're playing.
I would put in that little 1/1 that gives a +1/+1 counter when it dies. and a 4th counterspell to take out the teferi and the fatal push(to help against 2nd sun).

I've been working on a W,B,U token generation deck. It has anointed procession and mechanized production boost tokens and artifacts. Everyone keeps telling me 3 colors is too many but I'm really liking they way it works out. What do you think? If you want the deck list I have now for it let me know. I'm still trying to tweak it.
Are we allowed to add old cards in the deck for the tournament? Because I was kinda hoping that people start making deck that are all dominaria and not the old cards.
Dev, it seems EVERY top tier deck is running Karn (or Teferi). With this being the case, why not Duress in the main deck? Also, I was hoping you'd explain Sorcerous Spyglass in the sb...I think it's a VERY underrated card at the moment and would like to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks for the great vids!
Did you ever worry about dealing with opposing planeswalkers? I like Settle the Score...but with all the opposing Karn's and Teferi's running around were you able to deal with them?
I mean... Sorta? Yeah the early 5/5 flyer is great if your opponent doesn't have removal and it's gonna feel super great when they can't answer it but... When they do it'll feel a little underwhelming just to get a 0/2 flyer back out of the deal. I personally think Touch is really good on any of the implements from Kaladesh, Prophetic Prism or Filigree Familiar. Stuff that would technically give you a +2 in card advantage if your opponent dared to kill your 5/5 threat.
Yeah, but it still has the potential to be a 5/5 flyer swinging in a turn 3. But yeah Fatal Push is brutal too hehe. Standard was pretty close to having a pseudo affinity style artifact deck... sad it fell short hehe, I love artifact decks.
And if the thopter gets exiled by (insert a million cards here), even if you handle the removal spell (say Seal Away, etc.) you still only get an ornithopter back and lose Tezzeret's touch. No, it's not brutal. It's cute that they're trying to make Ensoul Artifact work, but they're not there yet.

Like I understand what it says on the card but the card says “creatures you control” so I’m confused on wether that means only creature on the battlefield or if that means creatures in your deck, graveyard, exile, hand etc. if anyone could give me the technical answer I would very much appreciate it. Danny Conway ok this is the official ruling for arcane adaption from the Magic the gathering website. “Replacement effects that modify creatures of a certain type as they enter the battlefield will apply after you apply Arcane Adaptation’s effect. This is a change from previous rules. If you control Arcane Adaptation and the Aether Revolt card Metallic Mimic, with the same creature type chosen for both, then any creature you control will enter the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter on it.” So take that as you will I guess

I got just one change i would ether replace the renegade maps or the prisms of... At least a few copys of traxos, scourge of kroog ( 4 ) legendary artifact creature 7/7 trample that comes in tapped and wont untap during your untap step, ENLESS you cast a historic spell (Atrifact, legendary/plainswalker, or sage.. Would be easy to untap every turn and 7/7 trample eats almost everything, but maybe im missing something i would say a 2 of at least... Love your channel long time SUBSCRIBER, my name is devin but poeple call me dev all the time i just think small world not alot of devins out there.. Much love brother :) , oh and i run a version of ue explore deck in standard onlt big differents is i switch vraska with e ghalt possible ghalta turn 4 with walker extra land and explore of unknown into jade double explore on buth gain 9 live an turn 4 easy ghalta for 4 some times 3 or 2 depending if ha got a caravel to crew for power boost.. And i found the deck needed trample to push trough the damage.. Again love ya bro you inpire me so much

People calling Dominaria expensive don't remember pre-KLD standard. Like, $45 for Karn is much, but it's not $100 for a single Baby Jace, which you HAVE TO run 4x every time, by the way.
Clinton Germond There are a lot of budget options right now for good decks. Look into white weenie decks and the red goblins deck dev featured. These can be really strong and are muuuch cheaper than this.
I’ve got some good budget decks coming, so don’t worry. Just be thankful we’re not in khans/origins standard anymore with $1000 decks full of fetches and jaces and such. We’ve seen way worse...the horror, the horror
Mono red burn is pretty budget, so is mono blue flying aggro. Yes the super competitive decks are ridiculously expensive but you can play standard pretty cheaply.

Sketchy match-up against aggro, but looks fun if you can manage to stabilize.

and you can tap key to the city more often without discarding cards so you are drawing more cards

The creature becomes smaller 0 toughness equals dead creature regardless
It kills the indestructible. Battle at the bridge isn't - counters, though
God, if battle put -1/-1 counters on a creature, that would be insane

I would dump the two fun cards and put in 2 Traxos. He is super fun and get's triggered by most of your spells.
