- The Amateur raido Winlink email backend supports several RF protocols depending on the band and conditions. The ARDOP protocol/modem is ideal for HF bands and a viable alternative to VARA/HF or PACTOR, plus it's open source and free, advancing the art of amateur radio.

Awesomeness! I’m all for openness! It’s great to see you are adding more s/w faster than I’m getting my h/w ready.
Nice demonstration video.
Now that I have a FT-991A I am committing to setting up DigiPi, I just ordered a Adafruit screen, I have a Pi Zero 2W already. Should be interesting
We use vara because it is the fastest we have. Let us know what's better than vara and is free and I'll use that.
It's okay to say negative stuff if it is true! Suggestion for bumper riff. Home on the Range! Deprogram a bit!!
Agree with you about the benefits of open source, I noticed ARDOP can be set to 200 Hz. What about modifying the code to drop the BW to 10 Hz? Yes, it will slow the data throughput but should give you WSPR crazy DX 🙂
ardop does fsk/psk/qam depending on conditions, with increasing width in that order. fsk is just a few hertz as far as i can tell, focusing all power into a single tone.
Your next Bumper Song should be Gypsy Road by Cinderella. 😁👍
ooh yah, that opens up a few ideas - thanks!
Hi Craig, did you look into VarAC aswell?
Nope! Windows only. Proprietary. Looks like cool tech however.
Just noticed the modified Gadsden flag on the wall - what's that showing?

Can ARDOP GUI be added to DigiPi.
Possibly, but you can also run Ardop-gui on your pc and point it at your DigiPi. That’s what I was doing in this demo.
Why keep pushing DigiPi when the software is not available, dead link?
Is this protocol able to be sped up once the bandwith limit is increased?
That's a great question. The baud may increase, but it's hard to get much faster with 3K signal widths.
@@KM6LYW I also prefer using open source software for ham radio, but the reality is that ARDOP is now quite obsolete. Readily available software modems transfer data several times faster in the same bandwidth, but unfortunately they are proprietary. The ARDC is funding a project to develop an open source software modem using current technology for ham radio use.
Where is the link to the ardop source code? Links on the linked site, and the patched ones are binaries.
