I want to access email over VHF/FM...are the settings and operational setup protocols within Winlink about the same as using ARDOP via HF, except you select "FM radio only" or which selection under the "open session" tab do you recommend using via VHF/FM, if possible? Have you tried it via "VHF FM only," and what has been your experience sending and receiving email over VHF/FM. I would assume the number of stations to select from might be more limited than via ARDOP. As a member of our local ARES chapter, I'm also wondering if it would be better to be sending and receiving email over ARDOP, since a disaster might be in too close a proximity to a local area site that may also be experiencing the disaster to use VHF/FM. A more local site you're connecting to might be burdened with a local disaster as well. So, would you probably be better off connecting to a station outside the area where the disaster is occurring via ARDOP, on the HF bands? I'm thinking that the sites to connect to that aren't subject to the disaster occurring in their local area might be best. Thanks! At 4:35 you open the TNC Settings and you have a soundcard configured. When I open it, there is an IP address and the instructions say "set the soundcards in Ardop TNC by selecting File Virtual TNC Setup.........where???
VARA is the bomb if you're on Windows--waaay more reliable than ARDOP. Unfortunately, no option for ARM processors (like Raspberry Pi). ARDOP is the best we got right now.

@@briandale9274 Just FYI, you can use Box86 with Wine to run x86 32b Windows software on ARM Linux, even on Android (I use MMSSTV on the go).

@ You sure can...people been trying to get VARA to reliably work using that method for at least two years but have so far been unsuccessful.
