$1,200. Compared to Steam Deck, at $649 for the 512GB version, which you can then Upgrade to 2TB if you want to yourself. Which would definitely cost far less than an extra $551. Come on Dude! This is a total RIPOFF!
Also repairability is really good on steam deck. Valve seems to have no issues with consumer repairing their steam deck. Just check out the official spare parts prices. It's insanely cheap.
Unfortunately, Aya Neo is pretty doomed IMHO - they can't subsidise the price like Valve can (the latter gets their money back from 30% of Steam sales) and they release far too many models in a relatively short period of time (any bets the Next will be superseded within the next year?). Apart from running Windows 10 (which has a bad touch experience and is far less customisable than SteamOS), the Next has a slower GPU part of its APU and slower RAM than the Steam Deck, so it loses most benchmarks, yet is twice the price of the top end Steam Deck (and three times the price of the cheapest Deck). Really a complete non-starter unless you've got cash to burn.
Not really. They are competing more with the Onexplayer and GPD of the world more then they are competing with valve. I’ll take running windows right now over steamos. It’s a nice is but it’s crap to me if it can’t run all the games on the steam store l. I can do just about that right now with a windows device. Running windows 10 on the device also isn’t much of a touch experience. Most of the time you use the analogs to navigate and once In a while you type on the onscreen keyboard. The deck is a cheaper device for a reason. The storage sucks on it. The aya neo next is basically a computer that priced appropriately for it chip set. The performance does pale to the steam deck but not by much. I’ll take it the increased storage and compatibility with the steam store out the box. The fact that you can buy it without waiting a year for it is key too. Or better yet wait for a Aya Neo 2 and you’ll get a better device performance and all then the steam deck.

Yep exactly. Most normal people cannot afford a handheld pc that costs $1,200. Even $400 is cutting it in this current timeframe we're in with rising cost of living. The only person who would say the Ayaneo is a better deal is someone who thinks just because it costs more means it's somehow better
@@ADreamingTraveler Yes, and those who pay $1000+ for Anya and say it superior to the Steam Deck are also out of touch, too. Not only that, these expensive machine never get supported in a long run once they released; for example, today you may have Anya A, but then a couple of times later they released Anya B with additional features that Anya A doesn’t have => Now they make Anya A looks obsolete within a short period of time and that kinda tempts the customers to get another one.

They will struggle to compete with VALVE who can sell the Deck at a loss and strike better deals on components, Aya Neo have to make money on the device itself rather than future game purchases. The downside of the Steam Deck is availability, I put down a deposit in September and I'm looking at October or later.
so less gpu performance, slow ram (this is important for an APU),worse controls (losing out on stuff like the pads, paddles and gyro is huge for playing more PC oriented games, shooters are actually good with deck, even without aim assist) and a far higher price. and the deck is getting windows drivers anyways (despite steam OS being so much better in most cases for a device like this). unless you're SOL when it comes to getting a deck, this is not a great option.

My Steamdeck delivered on Saturday and was defective. Had no working display. So I sent it back for a replacement. I still wouldn't buy the Aya Neo at that price point especially with a Deck option (if you can get one). If the steam deck didn't exist, I may have entertained the idea. I can't justify the price.
The support for the neo is garbage. They would've probably sent you a screen in the mail to replace yourself. They already did it with faulty joysticks to others.
actually buy the Steam Deck instead and support the Valve developers. Supporting them will improve the platform, improve the Proton emulation layer and in the future we'll all have a better platform.
Guys guys guys Forget buying the affordable handheld console made by a mayor player in gaming Buy this one instead it's at least twice as expensive and has a fraction of support. It's even made by a bunch of nobodies that need crowd funding Let me get right on that 😑
Just the fact that everyone have to mention the steam deck for every handheld review in the market tells you that the king of price vs performance in the handheld market right now it's the Valve's Steam Deck.
Over all there both great been testing them out switching back and forth. I would say if price wasn’t a factor the ayaneo next takes the cake. With windows 11 pre installed , easy to carry and doesn’t cause fatigue when playing with very smooth gaming graphics. The buttons feel of higher quality as well. There price tag is definitely to high but I still would go with there product over steam.
I enjoy my Steam Deck for me is perfect as a Handheld.. I use my Gaming PC at Home and SteamDeck on the Go.. I'm excited for the Future of Gaming Handhelds The More competition the better..
Nice video, but a device like this won't be able to compete against the Deck until (a) it's powered by an APU at least as good as the Deck's, (b) it runs a Windows SKU optimized for the form factor, and (c) it's produced by an OEM willing to take a bath on the hardware. I think (c) is the biggest hurdle. Valve can do it because they have their store. Microsoft could probably do it with Game Pass, but it makes little sense given their XBOX positioning. Sony will never build a Windows gaming device. Nintendo? Forget about it. Who's left? Valve is playing a risky but clever game. They know that only Microsoft could offer a viable alternative, but also that it makes little sense for them to bother, at least for now. On the other hand, if SteamOS starts posing a threat to Windows on the desktop, then Microsoft could wake up.
True. I got my steam deck just to support the development of Linux gaming and Proton/Wine just so Microsoft doesn't stay the monopoly king of gaming forever, with only Sony seemingly willing to battle them.
Those forza graphics are perfectly fine for something small and portable like that. I think this is a great option for those who can not get a steam deck right now
@@CautionBlue420 bro go check the price of the steam deck available now, its being scalped at the essentially the same price so unless you already reserved you will be waiting for a long time. thats if you can even reserve it because the steam deck is only available in certain regions, and if you cant reserve it then your only option is the scalped prices...
I bought a Steam Deck. Before it was announced I had considered the Ayaneo, but I didn't want a Windows handheld. Linux/SteamOS is what got my day-one Steam Deck purchase and I'm loving it. If Ayaneo and other handheld PCs want to be competitive, I think they need to target custom Linux builds or SteamOS first with hardware and drivers. After that, Windows support is easy. But Windows is a terrible ecosystem for a handheld gaming system. It's so finicky, settings are complicated and get reset after updates, and it's got so much bloat and ads. The era of Windows needs to end.
"Scalper money." "Limited." I mean, sure, if you don't want to wait for your reservation, why not go ahead and buy a device that costs 3x as much with worse performance and less support huh? Honestly, the irony is that the 'scalper' prices are even less than the price of the Aya Neo Next! Absolutely ridiculous. Poor take with this video.
I wouldn't buying it from scalpers, including this one. If device is broken when u receive it, you can't return the device to replace, due to you bought it with a random person. So you lost lot money for a broken one.
@@lordseth8517 Actually, with the Steam Deck, valve honours the warranty regardless of whether you purchase it off of them or through a third party. Where as a company like Aya Neo does not. Still, this video is a poor take. The Steam Deck is still worth it even if you were to pay current scalper prices over an Aya Neo. Not that I was recommending buying it from a scalper in the first place, just that the Steam Deck is incredibly well priced.
Aya neos price is partially justified by that 2tb SSD, a Steam Deck with 512gb is still 700$ so they are not that far off, from my experience with the Deck, the controls are beyond EXCELLENT but from this video, the Aya Neo seems to be able to compete very well, in terms of display...they look about the same if I'm honest, I did put Windows on the Deck but was kinda crap, although performance on the Deck is better for sure, it's not mentioned there but Apex on low without v-sync would do 80-100 fps, pretty decent!
It’s not THAT difficult to get a Steam Deck. They’ve doubled the shipping amount, so everyone is getting theirs faster. Plus, the price makes it so much better anyway. I ordered a Steam Deck at the end of July last year and I’m estimated to get it in a month or two, maybe less if they keep speeding up. But even with the long wait, I still think it’s far superior to the Ayaneo Next.
This may be because the Aya Neo is over $1,000 while the 512GB Steam Deck is not even $700. The Aya Neo Next Pro is over $1,500 which is double the price of the Steam Deck. Obviously there are going to be some glaring differences between the devices when the pricing is that far apart.
Yeah. U mean you can use it like a desktop/laptop and it WOULd be more portable than a laptop, but if you’re going to pay that much for this ugly ass handheld you may as well get something more powerful
Now if this was the aya neo 2 I'd agree, but not for the price. Steam Deck is the perfect price point (i got the 64gb model, 4 512gb sd cards and replaced the storage for a 1tb ssd).
Windows 10/11 is bloatware. I wouldn’t doubt if they do go Linux to compete with steam deck in near future. Linux is prob gong become the standard for gaming on. It already is in rest of the world. Even ms does NOT trust there own os and they use custom Linux for cloud and servers. (Google your self. Ms uses Linux for cloud) Rest world runs Linux. Smart devices all us custom Linux. Smart phone and tablets use Linux World Govt use Linux. Most Web servers/cloud use Linux and as console do. Except ms which uses bloated windows for Xbox. Sony/Nintendo both use custom Linux. I’d like see somebody install steam os on this instead then see how well does vs steam deck. If can get all proper drivers. The fact this is still using Vega 8 and not RDNA2 or newer. I wouldn’t touch it. And it’s using LPddr4? Should be using LPDDR5 for that price. Good cpu, but paired with old GPU. Not bad video. But I bet Valve will prob come out with newer version of steam deck or steam deck 2 with 6c/12t or 8c/16t version of steam deck in the future. Gabe already mention while back they looking into more powerful version. Good video but I do agree, it’s too pricy. Here in Canada that would prob be more $1200 to $1300 Canadian or more. Not worth for that price. You’d better buy gaming laptop or steam deck or build budget game pc. Unless you really want play mobile and can’t get steam deck.
There’s only a few graphically demanding games that I’d be willing to even play on the steam deck but other than that it’ll play all the other games in my library flawlessly. I’ll save the heavy hitters for my PC and the money for any upgrades in that direction.
It’s probably the best packaging I’ve ever seen, it’s going to be fun it would be a race between stream deck and this, like PlayStation, xbox and Nintendo
The Xbox and ps and Nintendo all have reasonable price points for what they offer. This handheld is to pricey for what it is. For $1500 I might well buy a gaming pc.
It costs like $1500 though xD I can buy a steam deck for $500 and it is plenty available right now and will be going forward now that the initial sales rush has died down. Steam deck also has much more support and will keep having it.
With that kind of money you can probably buy 2-3 steam deck or a really good gaming PC assemble by hand. Most people aren't going to buy a dozen version of the Aya product like iPhone latest phone release. Most people understand that in the tech industry if you are going to release another generation of that product then only change the product variations slightly just to prove that it is the latest model. I see this latest Aya version as another pump and dump until another model replaces it within 1 year of release.
Ayaneo is way too overpriced , and steamdeck performs better in ALL GAMES TESTED The only thing AyaNeo has going for it, is that you can get it NOW while Steamdeck is on reservation/backorder for months to come
since when do all games run better on syeam deck? Just because there are two or three more frames per second doesn't mean it works better. and besides, that's not even true, not all games run better on the steam deck. Everything the steam deck does, the aya neo does too. The only difference is the price!
Not anymore. Now you can upright buy a steamdeck now without need for a reservation. Its why I didnt get it when reservations were a thing. Decided to wait it out and bought it a month ago!
I got a Steam Deck at MSRP, it was worth the queuing and the wait. I guess this is more like a view grab, in the end the value proposition and cost is not on the same level for these devices. I left my thumbs down here with ease.
Only buy this if you really really dont care about steam os, steam os is amazing, it is works very well and its very user friendly. Personally i would still pick the stead deck, plus when you buy one, you get steam points that you can use to buy a custom onscreen keyboard for it.
the steam deck has two bog advantages 1. it runs Linux 2. it is kinda like a console with a really easy "jailbreak" and therefore be a target for game devs and won't be obsolete as the other windows handhelds will be
For that price, you could buy a good gaming laptop that does so much more than just play games. It's insane the company will think that'll be competition. Especially against the Steam Deck. Even the most expensive version of the Steam Deck is much cheaper than that!
Sorry, but there really is no competition compared to a 400$ Steam Deck. Other devices "may" be a lil' bit better here and there, but the price is definitely too high.
This video is so silly! If money is not a problem, pick up the Aya Neo Next, otherwise, you can buy almost FOUR (!!!!!!!!!) Steam Decks for the price for one Aya Neo Next. And you guys got one for free... as I said. This is just silly!

The Steam Deck has a better GPU and is more affordable. While the Neo has a better CPU, storage and smaller lighter form factor.
@@ZackSNetwork I'm also biased towards Linux so I'm also biased towards the Steam Deck. I don't think Windows is a viable OS for handhelds, but it's ok for desktop.
I’m pretty sure they got paid to make this video man😂😂😂because they know damn well no one wants to pay 2k for this shit, and it’s not even beating any gaming pcs out today and it’s barely better than the steam deck.
They are either brain damaged or they got paid, it makes me laugh when viewers think that these content creators are doing this for them😂😂😂😂😂they aren’t
$1,200. Compared to Steam Deck, at $649 for the 512GB version, which you can then Upgrade to 2TB if you want to yourself. Which would definitely cost far less than an extra $551. Come on Dude! This is a total RIPOFF!
Don’t even need to spend that much. It’s easy to upgrade the 64gb version to 512gb or larger by switching it out.
@@businesstron with how similar the steam deck is compared to the rest of these handheld PCs, its inevitable that they have to compete with valve unfortunately (or fortunately?).
@@businesstron steam deck is currently available to buy now with no queue & i can upgrade my storage quite greatly and still come out cheaper. There are workarounds for playing non steam games & I could always just get windows on it.
@@nstar1372 You can go to a terabyte and that’s it l. You’ll have to spend upwards of $200 for a good reliable ssd that size and then you have to go through the effort of actually installing it. Which kinda sucks on the steam deck compared to gpd or ayaneo devices. Atleast with those devices you can go upwards to 8 tb if you have the money for it. Steam deck it 1 tb… Maybe 2 tb for $600 if you know a guy. You mentions all of these workarounds well with this new generation of windows handheld you don’t have to do those workaround. I own a steam deck btw and I do like it for its value and performance it’s limits on I/o ports and storage might only having me use it for a year or two.
How the heck could this be a competition when this thing couldn’t even beat the Deck’s price?!?! In fact, such high prices like this will only bottle neck lots of customers!
not only that but it runs older graphics cards not the new RDNA2 graphics cards like what the PS 5 and what the steam deck has

If anyone says the Steam Deck has competition, that's a rich-guy take 100%. Valve's direct support and constant updates, Ergonomics, Price, Elite style Controller, Trackpads making it better for PC games, SteamOS for accessibility and input, Included AMAZING Security Case + Cloth
No way I'd ever buy this, I'd rather get 3 Steam Decks.

This is great. Not for that price.
I would still prefer the steam deacon because of the price and it would be worth the wait $1,500 is way too much for a handheld
At that point get a gaming PC 😂
I still did not see a good reason to buy this over a Steam Deck. Running Windows 10 is not good enough.
so less gpu performance, slow ram (this is important for an APU),worse controls (losing out on stuff like the pads, paddles and gyro is huge for playing more PC oriented games, shooters are actually good with deck, even without aim assist) and a far higher price.
and the deck is getting windows drivers anyways (despite steam OS being so much better in most cases for a device like this).
unless you're SOL when it comes to getting a deck, this is not a great option.
They make like they are Prefessionnal...but they clearly look like amator with that title, SteamDeck has a GPU that gonna run newer Games that will use all RDNA 2 Tech, where Aya Neo...Error "Shader Model 6.6 is unavailable".
AyaNeo was good untill Steamdeck exposed them for the rippoff it is , way overpriced for the performance it provides.
Jesus, content creators have it easier now that the like/dislike ratio isn't visible by default. This channel is such a joke. Just look at the description: "widely scalped" my ass, you guys don't even know what that word means, in any context.

I still prefer the deck based on price. 400 bucks plus 50 for the 512gb ssd upgrade. For me that’s a better deal. I’m loving the portable market . Definitely excited to see the portable power houses that will be released in the next few years .
Both USB-C ports are same, it's just for your comfort which one you want to use, if you are sleeping you may like to use top connector, otherwise bottom one etc.

You spend 1200 on this, then in 3 weeks, Aya will release the Neo next+ lmao
There will never be a true Steam deck competitor until the price point is comparable. Who cares how good this is if its over $1000?

My Steamdeck delivered on Saturday and was defective. Had no working display. So I sent it back for a replacement. I still wouldn't buy the Aya Neo at that price point especially with a Deck option (if you can get one). If the steam deck didn't exist, I may have entertained the idea. I can't justify the price.
when did you order it I just bought mine on Thursday
The support for the neo is garbage. They would've probably sent you a screen in the mail to replace yourself. They already did it with faulty joysticks to others.
actually buy the Steam Deck instead and support the Valve developers. Supporting them will improve the platform, improve the Proton emulation layer and in the future we'll all have a better platform.
I have a steam deck and I love it! even though you can install windows there is no need too. Linux runs perfectly and all emulation is amazing
Know any good tutorial vids for emulation on the deck
Guys guys guys
Forget buying the affordable handheld console made by a mayor player in gaming
Buy this one instead it's at least twice as expensive and has a fraction of support. It's even made by a bunch of nobodies that need crowd funding
Let me get right on that 😑
If they manage to add local wireless play like the switch and convince developers to implement it that would be insane.
Just the fact that everyone have to mention the steam deck for every handheld review in the market tells you that the king of price vs performance in the handheld market right now it's the Valve's Steam Deck.
SteamDeck is great. Loving it. Supports my huge Steam gallery. Why would I buy something else?
Over all there both great been testing them out switching back and forth. I would say if price wasn’t a factor the ayaneo next takes the cake. With windows 11 pre installed , easy to carry and doesn’t cause fatigue when playing with very smooth gaming graphics. The buttons feel of higher quality as well. There price tag is definitely to high but I still would go with there product over steam.

“Forget the price! It doesn’t even matter!”
I'm getting my steam deck on Monday. I've been waiting since november last year. I am so freaking excited. 512 Crew!
You should thank yt for removing the dislike counter. Why did you clickbait?
Those forza graphics are perfectly fine for something small and portable like that. I think this is a great option for those who can not get a steam deck right now

40hz mode, gamechanger. Get the steamdeck
Not that I was recommending buying it from a scalper in the first place, just that the Steam Deck is incredibly well priced.
Yeah no. The fact that it's Valve supporting it and game patches are fast. I'll stick with Steam Deck and it's way cheaper
