    You are right, the manifold is two piece and is held together by those two bolts. The heater manifolds are better in that they have more metal in them and tend to not sag in the back port area because of all that heater iron on top. It is really looking good.

      Thank you. I will order some new sparkplugs this week and see if I can find out how to make a simple ignition circuit, using the original distributor, but elimianting any "original" wiring and see if the points and condensor are working. Fingers crossed !

    You have a Marvel carb. Sold by Sears " Allstate brand." Great carb. Get parts for it from Renners corner.

      Thank you for the info and the lead on Runners Corner. I just looked at their site for carb parts and pleased to see they have affordable prices.

    Carby is an Allstate ,I find it a very good Carby

      Thank you. I was surprised at how relatively clean it was inside and appeared to function well after we were able to start the motor.
