Ye the more and more we watch the whole universe of this film we know that he has gone through a lot before he was possessed and that thing attached to him till death
I just got done watching the nun 2 and this scene all came back to me when I saw him and I instantly knew he was the man from their lectures. I love how they intertwine all the movies
I am sorry to break you a bad news and spoiler - In Nun 2 Maurice married Kate which was obvious but their daughter Sophie would be dead in her 20s thus depression surrounds him and Valek takes over as Warren said in lecture This man has nothing to live for.......😢😢 This is the only proper explanation.
For those wondering how Valak is still alive and mid-way powerful after the End credits of The Nun ll, Her mark is still inedible on Maurice’s neck. She might have been sent back to Hell just like the original Nun but same way she found her way back, she used Maurice to regain her strength and power. Also not only is her calling mark still tagged on his neck but in the Conjuring feature of his Exorcism, the Warren’s lift up his shirt to reveal another Cross mark on his Thigh. So at some-point during the final battle of The Nun 2, knowing she was about to be defeated once more she enlisted another seeable door on his body furthermore possessing him til she once again regains her full strength. Her goal was to do what she always wanted, which was to finally kill Maurice and as we already know, She no longer needed his Aid and had him kill himself but not before sending a chilling warning / message to Loraine about how Ed is her next Victim. Hence the events of The Conjuring 2 She was almost too powerful in TC2 and that’s due to the possession of Maurice. Sister Irene also notices something was off at the end of TN2 when Maurice looked back and smiled at her. You can see she felt uneasy and very suspicious of his durability and his Mannerisms. Even she could still feel the Demon’s presence lurking and biding it’s time. There is a planned 3rd film in talks which will no doubt focus more on Maurice and how Valak affected him leading into Ed and Loraine performing the Exorcism on him - this will either be the plot of TN3 or TC Last Rites.
In the conjuring film, I remember them saying Maurice was abused and tortured by his father but I don’t recall the nun or the nun 2 going in that direction. Maybe the writers decided to change that part?
@@jud3_get072 Darn.., I was hoping they would touch on that a bit because in the classroom Ed and Lorraine said that Frenchie had a troubled life and not much to life for, but I loved his character. Maybe his encounter with Valak drastically changed his life
I'm just confused, is the nun in the same timeline with conjuring? Is Lorraine just like Irene, descendant of St Lucy that's why Lorraine also get visions?
Came here after watching The Nun. Interesting how the ending of that movie ties directly into this scene. Valak's appearance in Conjuring 2 makes a lot more sense now. And it looks like they recreated this possession scene in The Nun with the guy who played Maurice in The Nun. It's just really sad to hear the fate of Maurice and his whole backstory :(
@@Beindependent6683because st Lucy didn’t burn either that was the whole point of her eyes being gouged out her faith was that strong just like Irene’s when they turned the wine into the blood of Jesus
i knew maurice was possessed still because he didn’t remember the tomato he grew, he was super excited when sister irene gave him the seeds, but when he saw his tomato grew at the end, he showed no expression. And im glad they showed his exorcism way before in the conjuring
There's actually a step that comes before Infestation. 1. Temptation 2. Infestation 3. Oppression 4. Possession. Temptation has to be there because the demons need a gateway, a door to enter. Infestation occurs after the door has been opened.
My mom got to go to one of these!! She went to the university of Connecticut back then and she got to visit one of their lectures! She said it was really creepy and they turned all of the lights off
Poor Frenchie. The ending of the Nun II made me sad knowing Frenchie's fate. It is possible that the demon returned a few years later because Sister Irene never addressed the demon by its name. Anyway, curious to see if the franchise will release another movie related to the storyline of Valak
So the final post credit scene in the nun 2 is making way for the conjuring 4 where the exorcism in the clip takes place, the exorcism of Maurice. And thats why at the end of the nun 2 where Irene and Maurice are saying goodbye, Irene has an unsettled look on her face as he walks away.
@@neversleepfreak got to be honest I really enjoyed the character Frenchie, so when they made him the same character from The Conjuring and you find out all the horrible stuff that happened to him growing up it really make me feel bad for the character.
Same! Just watched it. I think the conjuring 4 will be about him and the lead up to his death and obviously more about his possession. But just imagine irene never knowing it got him in the end!😢
Theory: what if the conjuring 4 will be about Maurice. As we See here, valak still never left, at the end of the nun2, we see ed and Lorraine receiving a call. What if this call was about maurice and that he was possesed again? This is confusing but there is a possibility the new film will be about what happened towards the build up of his death
I think so too. I feel like The Conjuring 4 may be the last movie in the franchise and will use the remainder of the Maurice arc to bring everything full circle.
They ll maybe create a full new story and just bring like 5mins of Maurice story to connect it all or they ll create a film to what happened before conjuring 1 (based on the Maurice exorcism on the beggining of Conjuring 1)
I barely remember the Nun and thought it was lame, but I really liked the second one (saw it tonight). When they show Maurice in the first Conjuring movie, it is clearly not the same guy with the same back story, though it is the same name. I think they’re hoping no one notices that and they’re gonna completely retcon to get the other guy to be the Maurice we all know and love now. And we’ll have to watch the poor guy fail to survive a possession after all that, and then he will unalive himself…so sad! I love the Conjuring movies, but not sure I wanna watch this guy suffer any more than he has been. Lol
I mean the events of the nun 1 and 2 take place in the mid 50s, so who o owe when his final days were. Could of been recorded in the 70s which would make him around that guys age in the video. Maurice looks like he’s mid to late 30s in the the nun 2 so makes sense to me
Same!!! He was possessed but didn’t have a wife or go after his wife?? This all makes no sense to me.. I’m trying to tie it together but I don’t get it
See what I am thinking is that this man is just susceptible to possession at this point because of the conjuring we know that he is in the midst of the exercise before he unalived himself. In the nun we see that he is possessed by Valak and in the nun 2 he has an exorcism however, at the end of that sister Irene looked at him like she didn’t complete the job, so is he just gonna marry Kate and thats who he tries to unalive but ends up shooting in the arm before he offs himself. Is he just doomed?
So I just saw nun 2… Maurice is in it . He’s possessed but not this way… so how does it make sense or tie into anything??? Is it a different Maurice ??
No it’s the same Maurice. That’s why sister Irene was looking at him funny in the end because he wasn’t completely exorcised. I think this is also when Lorraine runs into then nun the first time as in the conjuring 3 she recalled seeing the nun. And then the reference in this video of the upside down cross appearing on Maurice’s body is a reference to the cross that appeared on the back of his neck in the nun 2
Does apply to psychopath that I use to work with. He was trying hard to destroy me completely but failed In the end completely. It was pure joy seeing him losing so much of things dear to him. Therefore psychopaths are not much different from forces mentioned in this movie. Evil, remorseless, selfish pricks and bitches with can not be reason with and should burn in hell eventually.
Psychopathic people k!ll sociopaths tend to destroy everything around them for their gain. I feel bad at times because possession is a way in which you can describe what mental illnesses feel like. I have had depression since I was a child and depression is somewhat similar sometimes you’re there and other times you feel absolutely nothing, you couldn’t care if you left today, tomorrow or in 30 minutes, it drains you off everything from energy to motivation in life. It’s very difficult to suffer from a psychological condition, socio and psychopaths feel nothing because parts of their brains have died off or shut off (jeez I took psych in high school but forgot exactly what part of the brain) basically there’s parts of your brain responsible for certain jobs, one part can be responsible for emotions, information retention, and such and such. So basically psychopaths don’t feel and they often struggle with themselves because they can’t comprehend what others can or they cannot relate, they also go through many spouts of temptation, however once they do attack they need more as that’s the only reward/ dopamine they feel. And if your coworker was possessed it doesn’t matter because in order for exorcisms there needs to be psychological evaluations prior and even during exorcisms there is a psychologist and psychiatrist with the priest during a exorcism.
