I will say as someone with Epilepsy, neurologists OFTEN don't know what causes them. If they find phyiscal or electrical damage, it's considered a rarity.

Not necessarily. Each historical figure was possessed by a separate demonic spirit, so she was possessed by the same demons that possessed those historical figures, not by the spirit of hitler

As several other people have already pointed out the EEG not showing anything is normal. I have seizures and nothing has ever come up on a scan, EEG or MRI. unless you happen to have a seizure *while* the EEG is in progress the odds of something showing up are very slim

I would be freaked out too if I was told by my loved ones my seizures are demons and that I was being possessed.
Temporal lobe epilepsy is a form of emotions, like deja vu or terror as if something terrible is going to happen.
It causes scaring on your brain and untreated can lead to grandmal seizures.
I know this because I have them. Luckily I have them controlled but I still get the deja vu seizure and during those seizures I’m aware of my surroundings and can even follow what someone is saying.

My mother who is a doctor once said that usually in a case of someone with epilepsy, the reports will most likely come back as normal. So it’s quite difficult to detect it. Maybe that’s why they never found anything not normal with her.
I had about half a dozen BAD symptoms of a head injury but if that MRI comes back good, like it does in 80 percent of coma patients, you're not injured. Leave us alone.
Finally, a battery of visual and balance tests discovered damage to the different areas of the brain.
The doctor said "well yes at the organic level you have brain injury.
What other level is there?? :)
They know as much about the brain now as doctors did about the heart 150 years ago.

@Rulya Mórrigan Ard Mhacha I have been a parent to a child with severe, intractable epilepsy for almost 20 years and the President of the Epilepsy Association of Utah. We have met with several world renowned epileptologists and for years his EEG was normal. Then it wasn’t. All of his other tests were completely normal. Aside from his genetic diagnosis of KBG Syndrome and severe cognitive delay NO DOCTOR has been able to identify the CAUSE of his epilepsy. Not even KBG explains it. 70% of people with seizures never find the cause and are easily treated with medication. Those 30% that don’t are at a higher risk for SUDEP. My son is in the highest category for death due to seizure. And yet, aside from a singular congenital anomaly that wasn’t easily detected, he is otherwise perfect. It is totally true. This case sounds like she had epilepsy, a psychosis that was worsened by medication (AED’s can alter the mental states) and as her seizures worsened, in her postictal state she was likely (persuaded by the constant barrage of exorcism rights), to state that she had spirits taking over her body. AED’s can cause a loss of appetite as can worsening seizures. I’ve seen it. I’ve held my boy through tens of thousands of seizures and watched him through Todd’s Paralysis and Non Comvulsive Status Epilepticus. If you don’t know what those are…look them up and if you do then both of those are also completely possible in this poor woman’s experience.

When I was about 10 or so my mom brought home the Emily Rose movie from one of those $5 DVD bins at the store, and while I thought the movie wasn't that great or anything (there was a reason it was $5) I ended up watching the director's commentary because I had nothing better to do and I found out about Anneliese Michel. I spent the next several days scouring the internet doing research about her case and I legitimately scared myself into believing that I was opening myself up to demonic possession and didn't sleep for like 3 days. I'm a Shaniac skeptic through and through and I largely was back then too, but something about Anneliese's story just messed me up big time. To this day one of the exorcism audio recordings that wasn't played in this video is one of if not the most chilling piece of audio I've ever heard, literally sends chills down my spine.
It’s so sad to see that she didn’t get the help she needed and deserved. :(

I am horrified at that thought, unless you somehow got it to the right level of whatever you need the level to be for IV's to not kill you, it would kill you. I developed epilepsy (juvenile myoclonic epilepsy) which is usually genetic but there's no history in my family of epilepsy so in rare cases stress can cause your body to go into a defence mode to save you from stress hence mine
So I would look into her home life as well as her medical history

+TheCoolKid Here, this might make you feel better....her voice is well within female register, and why is it unlikely a Catholoc family, devout to the point of mania, would know of a historic excommunicated priest? Think how many priests there have been in history throughout Europe and it becomes commonplace. I've not got to the end ye, but AM is,,sadly, all too explainable - hysteria. When a person is this firmly routed in the supernatural, they have no doubt whatsoever about the stories of their branch of religion, its not at all unusual to build it into their psyche to this extent. Many mental patients show "superhuman strength" - they are terrified; its the fight-or-flight adrenalin response. Its a sad story, but religious mania IS sad. The cure is not believing in things without evidence...like gods. They are MEANT to scare you, it makes you obey. Feel better now? :-)

"is Hitler there?" "do aborted fetuses go to Heaven?").
It's a weird mix of very sad given what ended up happening to her and hilarious stupidity from the people desperately trying to work it in their favor.
I have so many questions!
1) where did these demons come from?
2) why noone force fed her during exorcism?
3) to confirm demon possession they should have used tranquilizers and if she still wakes up during exorcism it should confirm it!
4) why nothing was done for her from 1968 to 1972 about her repetitive unusual complaints?
5) after her death the demons would have stayed in the house or would have possessed someone else but after her death all they did was a court case!?

Exactly. The weight on her chest and the visions are also signs of sleep paralysis, which is normal. The combination of all the factors probably made her believe she was possessed and she subconsciously acted like so. If I were a doctor I'd probably want to see what was going on too, it seems like there are pretty logical explanations that people may dismiss in favor of religion.
