congratulations!! I am pursuing my master's degree in Applied behavior analysis. I am about to start accruing my hours. I came across ABA after graduating with my B.A in psychology looking to supplement my income. I worked as a behavioral therapist about 2 years before I became a RBT.
Congrats Ricky on all of your success! I just became a BCBA a couple of weeks ago and I kinda feel lost lol. Have you ever went through imposter syndrome? If so, how did you cope? What was that transition process like from RBT to BCBA?
Hi Ashli! Thanks for watching! I do experience imposter syndrome and it’s not fun but how I cope with imposter syndrome is when I feel inadequate I reach out to someone I trust in the field and I confide in them. I seek out support from them and they’ll either tell me I’m on the right track or give me some ways to improve. The reason I do this is so I at least have an outlet in someone I trust and they can give me valuable feedback. I hope that helps and congratulations on passing your exam!
Hi! I’m currently working in the field of ABA, but I’ve lately been struggling with dealing with a lot of guilt after learning about the controversy surrounding ABA. I was wondering what are your thoughts and opinions about the controversy that can surround ABA?
My apologies for the delayed response! To answer your question, I pride myself on delivering services that are aligned with the boards ethical code. Also, I take the time to listen to the negative experiences, understand them and ensure that I do not repeat those experiences with my clients.
