Crazy story: My mom is from West Virginia and was supposed to be on the bridge with her family when it collapsed. She and her family were supposed to be traveling to a family members house but decided not to go last min. Around the time the bridge fell they would have been either crossing or about to. She also remembers as a child seeing a figure flying in the sky and shadows around town. She totally believes in moth man.
I was thinking this the whole time!! He approaches so slow and cautious and people just keep running away! Roger and his crew stood there for how long, waiting for Mothman to get close.. because Mothman was trying not to scare them off. Obviously if he could fly up to 100 mph he could have caught them before they took off in the car. And he just stood and stared at the lady with the baby. Didn't even touch her 😂😂 Poor misunderstood critter!

A very large creature with huge red eyes almost in its neck.. large wings and a very terrifying glare. They saw this thing before it ever blew up and got famous.. they didn't know what it was then.. well, Apparently it chased them all the way home, it was flying and bouncing off trees, making awful screeching noises..it was trying to keep up with them and did. My grandmother said my mom was 15 years old at that time, and was so terrified when she made it into the house that she fell through the door and was screaming, pointing at the sky, sobbing uncontrollably, begging her brothers to lock the doors.. her 20 year old brother refused to walk his gf home that night, and apparently he refuse to leave the house very much for a few years after that.. My grandparents are from this area and have told me stories about people they know who saw Mothman. My great-grandmother drove across the bridge 15 minutes before it collapsed.
I went to Point Pleasant WV on vacation a couple years back. My mom, sister, and I stayed at the Lowe hotel (haunted hotel) across the street from the moth man museum. While on vacation we went to the local restaurant and our waitress (an older woman) told us that she lost her husband and son in the bridge accident the moth man sightings took place years ago. “Moth man” was seen last year in my town on the outskirts of Chicago.. a man reported seeing him on the side of the road said he stood about 9 feet tall with wings..
Fact, the point pleasant bridge incident was gossip among my mom and her family. Me, I was a little kid who was terrified about the gossip. West Virginia is a very “interesting” place.
Couldn’t agree more! I hated every second of growing up in a small town. Everyone knew everybody and gossip spreading was ripe! Someone could do a tiny thing and an hour later it would be known by the whole town as the crime of the century...
@@enikohudak2201 agreed. Plus, you never could do anything and try to keep it a secret. From even a mile or 2 from home, our parents knew what we did before we ever got back home.
I have found some true crime or mystery channels and role play channels that tell stories I would love to watch, but a monotone narrator voice I just can't focus on.. I think that's part of the success of your channel, it's very easy to listen to, it's not too fast or slow, and your looks are stunning 🤗 don't stop pls
I’m from Huntington! Not far from the moth man stories. There is a movie roughly based on him. It has Richard here in it. But I can’t remember the name. The story is definitely told world wide!
I like to Google the areas that Bailey is talking about to get a little more context of the story - so I Googled Point Pleasant and the statue is one of the first images that came up!
Growing up in a small town is fine until someone starts a rumor or talks bad about you and then it spreads through the community and then everyone is nice to your face because you have to constantly see them but then talk bad about you when you leave 😅🥲 its super fun other than that though. 😁
I grew up in this area. I’m only 30 but I have met many people who swear that this is a true story. They saw the moth man & many believed he was there to warn them about the bridge collapsing. I love the way you tell the story Bailey! U look gorgeous as always 🤩
I live in Southeast Ohio, not too far from Point Pleasant. I know someone who says his relatives have had multiple encounters with the smiling man- whose name I’m forgetting right now of course. But he’s associated with mothman sightings. Does that ring a bell to you?
@@gabriellawolman6823 yeah, I haven’t heard those stories in so long.. my mother & friends used to hang out in one of the places moth man was spotted. So I showed her this video and she loved it!
As I said, my mom loved this video. I wasn’t born when these events went down. I grew up hearing about them around in my small town that’s only 15 minutes away. My mom had so many more stories that line up with this after watching. In high school they would go to hang out at the t&t area. She had friends who actually saw him. A lot of people truly believe the moth man wasn’t evil, That he was trying to communicate with them about the collapse of the bridge that happened right after. If anyone has lived in or near this area, they would understand that this community is the Bible Belt. They did not want to accept any evil in this small town. Who REALLY knows what’s in the backwoods of WV 🦇🪰🐗🐂🐅🦦🐻🦊🐲🦄😵💫
Maybe the "aliens" were on an intergalactic family vacation and "Mothman" was just their pet they let out to stretch his wings before they headed to Jupiter.... Dogs chase cars too lol
You are one of those rare natural story tellers. Thanks for freaking me out, making me laugh, grossing me out, generally scaring me and always, always entertaining me.
I had a close friend of mine pass away unexpectedly yesterday and I’ve been absolutely devastated ever since. Watching your videos is the only thing that gives me a sense of comfort and normalcy again. Your videos have such a profound impact on others and I’m glad I found your channel. Thank you for everything you do, Bailey. You help people more than you’ll ever know.
I moved from a large city to a small town a few years ago because it felt safer to raise kids. I enjoy the slower pace, but having a small community here means everyone is up in everyone else's business and a constant rumor mill.. I just keep my circle small.
I've lived in the same small scottish village all my life, I often get random older people coming up to me asking how I am hows my mum and I have no clue who they are haha
I absolutely love and hate going back to my village in Greece for that exact reason... plus it isn’t a vacation if you have to visit 27 homes... I just wanna chill on the beach with some minty water and a huge hunk of watermelon.
Living in a town where everyone knows eachother is like being in highschool, very clique based, dramatic and rumors go around FAST its got some great qualities to it but it can be so tiring. Everyone is always in your buisness
Yes, and you end up hearing some ridiculous rumour about yourself that's not at all factual. There Are perks to growing up in a small town but the way people talk gets so annoying and there are a lot of hypocrites who pretend like they're just sugar and spice and everything nice and they Aren't! Lol oh yeah it's great.
Girl they legit leave mtn. dew and doughnuts for the moth man, a whole Holliday and statue dedicated to the moth man and merch. No joke. I lived there for a year, and they take it super seriously, wendigos too. Also the bridge was silver, and brought a warning that silver was a bad idea, and they blamed him for the destruction and deaths, deeming him an omen of traders and death.

"What's it like to live in a small town?" Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Yes, everybody knows your business. Everybody is categorized by their last names and it's a bunch of bs. Even now as an adult, I'm still thrown into that "oh your one of those" categories. I hate living here and my husband and I are actively trying to escape. Send help.
That’s like the neighborhood of the town I grew up in. I’m from Philly but moved here and it was so weird from the beginning, and I would literally get bullied for being from the city??? But my actual town itself has a population of 60k
No joke. I couldn't sleep for WEEKS when I first heard about this. Weeks. I have like Nell levels of sleep insomnia (we even had to have studies done because HELLO SLEEP INSOMNIA TEN TIMES IN ONE NIGHT MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK) and you know what I saw for weeks after I saw that movie? MOTHFUCKINGMAN
I find it interesting that no one was physically harmed during all the sightings. Moth man seemed to chase people but never attract. I wonder if he was just curious about humans.
I’m actually from West Virginia so I’ve grown up around mothman stuff lol a lot of people around here say that mothman didn’t mean harm but instead he meant to warn people of bad events/things

I came here looking for this comment!! Scary that it’s by us.
I guess even mothman needs a vacation on occasion... Lol
ME TOO BAILEY, ME TOO
I cannot STAND when someone cuts me off and then slows down.
I cannot stop just whispering "aqua tofana" in my daily life and I think my partner thinks I'm going insane.
Every. Day.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thought for a second jeepers creepers is based on mothman🙏🏻🖤🥀
Yes! I've thought that as well lol
Look up jeppers creepers on Wikipedia and it tells you it was based on a folk lore from Britain for exact location but just look it up yourself.
Definitely Jeepers Creepers!!!!
Literally just thinking this
I thought that too lol
“I would probably throw my baby at it” 😭
You’re hilarious 😂
Fact, the point pleasant bridge incident was gossip among my mom and her family. Me, I was a little kid who was terrified about the gossip. West Virginia is a very “interesting” place.
Living in a small town isn’t fun. Everyone knew about everything and nothing could be a secret. The town knew your business before you did.
I've been in a village 10 years and I'm so done. Move to a lovely part of London in few weeks. My dream has come true 💛
FACTSSSS
I feel this 😩
Couldn’t agree more!
Ok I'm gonna need merch that says "I'm gonna need more concealer for this" 😂🤣 STAT! Bailey never disappoints 🙌
I agree!
100% would buy!
“Not today Satan, I’m too busy” QUEEN
I have found some true crime or mystery channels and role play channels that tell stories I would love to watch, but a monotone narrator voice I just can't focus on.. I think that's part of the success of your channel, it's very easy to listen to, it's not too fast or slow, and your looks are stunning 🤗 don't stop pls
I’m actually a Point Pleasant local, I didn’t know this story was told outside of our town lol. We have a statue and even a mothman festival.
That sounds kinda ✨culty✨
I’m from Huntington! Not far from the moth man stories. There is a movie roughly based on him. It has Richard here in it. But I can’t remember the name. The story is definitely told world wide!
No thank you lol you guys are braver than me, for some reason mothman terrifies me lol
@@sarahspencer932 the mothman prophecies
I like to Google the areas that Bailey is talking about to get a little more context of the story - so I Googled Point Pleasant and the statue is one of the first images that came up!
Growing up in a small town is fine until someone starts a rumor or talks bad about you and then it spreads through the community and then everyone is nice to your face because you have to constantly see them but then talk bad about you when you leave 😅🥲 its super fun other than that though. 😁
That about sums it up!
True, but the old ladies would still give you their recipes so its still kind of a win. Haha
Lol. I moved to a small town in Idaho from California so I guess I was automatically the weird one.
Pretty much! 👌😄 Where I live, people literally be outside watching others. I sometimes feels like I am on a runway 🙄 CCTV's got competition 😁
Happened all the time in my small town. Word travels fast
I grew up in this area. I’m only 30 but I have met many people who swear that this is a true story. They saw the moth man & many believed he was there to warn them about the bridge collapsing. I love the way you tell the story Bailey! U look gorgeous as always 🤩
He was really bad at communicating that a bridge was going to collapse.
@@omigodausername LOLLLLL
The moment when you connected the "red eyes" in the story to your eye shadow 🤌🏼😅😭 quality content right here!
Love you, Bailey Sarian 🖤🖤

Maybe the "aliens" were on an intergalactic family vacation and "Mothman" was just their pet they let out to stretch his wings before they headed to Jupiter.... Dogs chase cars too lol

You are one of those rare natural story tellers. Thanks for freaking me out, making me laugh, grossing me out, generally scaring me and always, always entertaining me.
Am I the only one who now says “Nay Nay” in everyday conversation 😂👌🏼
I have been known to say “suspish” now.
My friends have literally started calling me out on it because apparently it's annoying....... pshhh Nay Nay I say! 😂😂😂
I say it to my little sister all the time! 🤣🤣🤣 including “Girl... you’re so suspish!”
Nay nay!! I use it too much 🤣🤣
Now when my boys start fighting with each other, I loudly proclaim "Nay Nay I Say!"
Bailey, Please talk about the Flordelis case: one the most insane stories coming from Brazil (and that's saying something)
I had a close friend of mine pass away unexpectedly yesterday and I’ve been absolutely devastated ever since. Watching your videos is the only thing that gives me a sense of comfort and normalcy again. Your videos have such a profound impact on others and I’m glad I found your channel.

It’s horrible living in a small town. Lol everybody literally knows your business. It’s ,like, no privacy basically.
I moved from a large city to a small town a few years ago because it felt safer to raise kids. I enjoy the slower pace, but having a small community here means everyone is up in everyone else's business and a constant rumor mill.. I just keep my circle small.
@@juliad1317 same! And I stay to myself. Because people are very nosy in smaller towns. It’s ridiculous.
People in my hometown know about what you did before you even did it 😐
Living in a town where everyone knows eachother is like being in highschool, very clique based, dramatic and rumors go around FAST its got some great qualities to it but it can be so tiring. Everyone is always in your buisness
Is it like stars hollow? 😃
YES no privacy, always drama, no one can resist the smallest piece of gossip. Lol plus, alot more.
@@ellamierrose1812 Yessssss
Girl they legit leave mtn. dew and doughnuts for the moth man, a whole Holliday and statue dedicated to the moth man and merch. No joke.
I lived there for a year, and they take it super seriously, wendigos too.
Also the bridge was silver, and brought a warning that silver was a bad idea, and they blamed him for the destruction and deaths, deeming him an omen of traders and death.
You did such a cool job with the look.

Yes!!! A great, eerie movie
MOTHFUCKINGMAN
turning on the porch light for Mothman
Didn’t sleep for a week
I find it interesting that no one was physically harmed during all the sightings. Moth man seemed to chase people but never attract. I wonder if he was just curious about humans.
that would be so sad if he just wanted to learn about humans.
imagine he’s just following them wanting to be friends
...it doesn’t exist...how would people get hurt by it.
Or maybe he has and no one was alive to tell it. 😲😲
I’m actually from West Virginia so I’ve grown up around mothman stuff lol a lot of people around here say that mothman didn’t mean harm but instead he meant to warn people of bad events/things
