This car is more than beautiful, it's art. Talk about a fun canvas. I really love the interior tailoring. Really has the vintage italian roadster vibe. Also, all the roadster badging really show the dedication to how bespoke the details are for this car.

This is not a car, it’s a moving piece of art. Even the engine bay is a work of art.
I know art is subjective... but that interior looks super tacky. The typography above the switches is cramped. The "Roadster" badge everywhere is so chintzy. The narrow oval shape they try to shove into every possible spot, including a barely usable rear-view mirror just looks so... repetative. It's so frustrating because the exterior and the engineering is phenomenal. And I do like the toggle switches and over-the-top exposed shifting mechanism. The devil is in the details, I suppose.

Maybe it is, when looking at AliExpress it becomes obvious that some factories puts out enourmous amount of a product and then others put on different brandnames on that product and prices have varies sometimes with huge differences between the brands and also between different stores selling the same brands, so when you use the Alibaba app or webbpage for manufacturers I guess maybe it's the same there if a manufacturer want parts for their products.

Doug missed something with the aviation theme. In most twin engine prop aircraft, the propellers are counter-rotating so they don't pull the aircraft laterally. If you look at the tach and speedometer in this car, the tach needle moves clockwise like a left prop and the speedo needle rotates counter-clockwise like a right prop. That's some serious attention to detail and a very cool Easter egg.

Pagani also paints a roadster sign outside your house too, you know just to make sure.
Another interesting quirk of the Pagani Huayra Roadster is that you can't park the car in your own garage until you speak the secret passcode into a dealer installed speaker in front of the garage door, "I'm driving a Pagani Huayra Roadster." and just like that your garage door opens.
They stopped doing that. Now they engrave it on your front door and mailbox.
When buying the Roadster you are automatically added to the mailing list, just to make sure that you are regularly reminded that you bought a roadster, not a "normal" coupe.

Excellent review - one note: It's a Hobbs meter and there is such a meter in pretty much all aircraft, in one form or another, even today... not just vintage.

MetalTrabant I was thinking this exact same thing. This Pagani reminds me of the Miata cluster upgrades that were popular in like 2012. Spyker does it way more tastefully. The (pagani's)exposed carbon + red interior does not help it one bit and fitment looks weird in a few places.
The decorations takes away from the purpose of the car and all that shit is extra weight. it's like getting $10k carbon fiber bicycle and putting streamers on the handlebars and a baseball card on the spokes

The Bugatti Veyron used to have my favorite car interior. That is, until I was introduced to the interior of this Huayra roadster. The innards alone are priceless. Every single detail is meticulous, pin point accurate in its craftsmanship. All aluminum and leather. Truly a rolling work of art, a technological, artistic, and engineering marvel of a car. The AMG V12 is a knockout.

The Pagani Huayra is a fantastic supercar. the design is very beautiful, I like the vintage airplane theme of the dashboard and the watch style gauge cluster. the Huayra designer has an OCD for the oval shape and the Roadster name.
When driving it owners will notice an airplane flying overhead towing a sign that says ROADSTER.

4:16 Exactly how the Honda Delsol roof is. All the praise in simplicity and ease of use given by Doug applies to the Honda Delsol.
The see through roof is also applicable to the Honda Delsol, just not many knew about it.
The Honda Delsol was literally decades ahead, when Targa form was seen as odd. In its release it received alot of hate (not only for replacing the hatch CR-X) and perceived as inferior to a convertible form.
Now the Targa form and its advantages are being recognised (better security from theft, roll over, quieter and still give the open top feel) Super Cars and Hyper cars are taking on the Targa form and not the convertible form.

I agree, I'm sure when they came out they showed what appeared to be a solid piece of milled metal, not some crappy plastic toy stuck around a merc key - apparently it costs $5k just for the key!
I'm not a Mechanic it’s probably got slot to do with Mercedes profits, incl. authorizing the ignition lock. My f150 key was like $200 Canadian just for the key! I think there was a $350 option of some kind too. Yuck, my old car starts with anything that turns the lock lol

Actually the keys are excellent quality. 👍🏻 CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum.
The one in this video has had the crap beaten out of it...and it's really dirty...🤔
For example my pagani huayra's gauge cluster (just like the one in this video) took 24 hours of continues CNC Machining from a massive block of Billet avional. (7075 aeronautical grade aluminum)
