  • This backhoe sat abandoned for over 10 years before we got it. It runs, but needs a lot of work. Today we pull off 4 leaking hydraulic cylinders, a lot of electrical, and the master brake cylinder. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Watch as we bring this thing back to its glory days!

I bought an old 580c and have gone through the same kind of laundry list on it to get it working properly. Repacked cylinders, rebuilt the 207d, went through a bunch of the wiring, replaced the old lighting with new led bulbs and then added more led lights, replaced numerous hydrolic hoses. Now I'm doing the brakes!!!! The machine just keeps getting better and better!!! I'll be watching y'all to see if I can learn from your journey. Thanks for the content!!!! Be safe!!!

It certainly is a nice sense of accomplishment when you can bring it back to life...espcially right after you use it to dig out a big tree! ha Good luck with your rebuild. Don't throw too many wrenches. ha

Good find on the backhoe, i bet you get it fixed in no time. just curious, why did you not pack the cylinders yourself?

@@IndyFarmLife I was just curious, I have never done it before but I watched Gerrald Farms repack a cylinder, looked really easy. Easy for someone with a little knowledge on the things, not for me, lol

I’d love it someone could tell me or give me some great in sight I got a contract for cutting yards for a management company and the boa they own had a case 580c king it was sitting on a side street the township threatened them with fines till they had it removed they hired someone to move it in to the wood out of sight I can have if I want it it’s in the Pittsburgh pa area I’m guessing I would need to 1st get an abandoned title but what’s the fastest way to see if it runs it’s been sitting for at least 3 years now outside in the weather any and all help would be greatly appreciated i. Guessing fuel system will need cleaned out and I’d need a couple of good batteries at the very least

My backhoe has a similar history. It had been sitting for 10 years before I got to it. I talk about it more in the below video. What I did was drain and fill the fuel, made sure it had oil, got a big battery, and cranked on it. If it turns you are golden! From there you may have to start troubleshooting to see why it may not fire. In my Case (see what I did there) it fired right up. Took some other mechanical work to get it going, but not too bad. Best of luck! Let me know how it turns out!
