This girl can sing. Singing acapella just proves how much she believes in. Her ability.
Her abilities are kind of 'thin'.
That brought tears to my eyes as soon as she started singing, beautiful.
That took tremendous bravery. To do it A Cappella, is just beyond amazing . That girl has chords , and it was awesome the way she put so much “ soul “into it and made you feel lifted up, like being in Church .

The problem is when singers like this slow down a song as she did, it makes it easier to breath so that you can hold longer notes. It doesn’t really show their ability in doing more of regular tempo songs.

She had good control, and her vibrato is good. She's got like a smokey tamber to her voice but it's sassy and smooth and I actually really like this

Her vibrato is amazing, like wow . With a vibrato like that I almost expected to hear an operatic version of Amazing Grace , just waiting to hear a higher octave . Her range is beyond amazing.

This song touched my soul so deeply . This was my sweet grandmothers favorite song she used to sing it to me .
Every now and then, when the Good Lord knows our hearts are so broken, when we are in a horrible place of despair, and spiritual death, when we are so, so afraid that, if we started weeping that we would never stop; it is at that time He/She/It/they give us a song like Amazing Grace.
And we still weep, but our hearts heal as we do so, our humanity is slightly restored, our mortality is delayed, and we can live and love for just a bit longer.
I hear this song, and I hear all those good-byes, and I am broken, and healed, and the old pain is let out.and the new pain is let in, but also the strength to bear it.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. May this song, and many others help heal your heart, and your family's.

Pardon me for being forward but I wonder if you have heard of Morissette Amon from the PHILLIPINES? She is remarkable and she made a acapella version of the recent smash song by Olivia Rodrigo " Drivers License" that is quite moving. She has many many many live vocals that prove she is not enhanced by auto tune or any studio tricks. She sings from someplace inside her and the emotion is palpable. Give her a shot , if you appreciate the ART of singing I can't imagine you will be disappointed.
It’s not difficult if you have the “ perfect “ tone and octave. I have been in the school chorus and as an adult in the church choir, and I have never attempted A Cappella, because I like hearing the music . My voice is good , but A Cappella is not my favorite thing to do .
It is a hymn and she sang it as a spiritual. It was genuine and heartfelt. I thought it was marvelous.

I loved the video as much as her voice. She sang amazingly, but the facial expressions were priceless! Simon's initial reaction and expression was arrogance and incredulity that she was dumb. Then it panned to her mom before the singing began, and I knew. The mom knew what was going to happen and you could see it in her eyes. It wasn't the normal, I love my child, I hope she proves him wrong. It was, I know she's about to knock your socks off and you will be blown away at how wrong you're about to be. Then the judges faces were like, oh, hmmm, maybe. Then the other contestants expressions were like, "Oh, crap." She's better. Then, back to the judges going from, hmmm, maybe to OMG, she's the real deal. Then back to mom, with the smug look on her face, like I knew it, now you know it too. Loved all the expressions through to the end.
100% agree with each and every one of your statements . Mom's expression actually gave me chills. She knew her daughter's performance was going to be mind blowing and she couldn't wait for everyone else to discover what she already knew. There's a quiet grace and strength in the way she loves, supports and believes in her daughter. Her reactions are some of the most powerful displays of motherly love I've ever seen. Chloe's blessed to have a mom like her.
Agree with both of you, and I felt it was going to be amazingly awesome and that it was!!! Her soul sang and was on point. She made it her own and I loved it!!!!

Nailing it a capella - SOLO - is incredibly impressive. In a well-matched group, harmonies and relative dynamics can help keep the individual voices on track (as I learned in my old a capella quartet). Alone, you have no support to help you stay on key or in rhythym.

Not sure this is a fair comparison but I really like Elvis' Amazing Grace!
It's on his gospel album!
I like his version because it is in a lower register, slower and he was, of coarse, an accomplished singer. And his voice had a ton of gravitas in it. Which I prefer!
