I powered them with FiiO K5 amp and at 80% volume they were unbearable loud. Nice headphones but AKG K712 Pro are way better

@@stanisawszczypua9076 The FiiO K5 really isn't powerful enough to bring these to their full potential. You can get them pretty loud with most amps. My JDS Labs Atom can get them plenty loud. They just don't sound as good they do on my Emotiva BasX A-100. On the Atom they sound a bit dry and tinny. On the A-100 they sound full and powerful. The difference is immediately audible. Zeos did not exaggerate just how much juice these need to really sound good.

little late to this vid, but just wanted to give you a shoutout--subscribed when I saw you reviewed the Superlux 668b's, then proceeded to go down the rabbit hole with some dt 770 80 and then the Monolith m1060s. Haven't watched in a while, but after my m1060s croaked recently I'm back and glad to see your wall and your channel has grown! Keep on keepin on my dude

Actually 3 Fans, on series extension cords around the perimeter and all running off a single Variac so I can run them SUPER low voltage for silence.
If you gonna acknowledge my genius, you must understand its depths.
@@ZReviews Uhhh those extension cords are almost certainly wired in parallel, I know it looks like a series, but electrically they are parallel. Still genius though.

My 1more triple driver's are pretty comfortable to me. Running them balanced through my zen dac is amazing.
Also, you could go over your amps and dacs.

@@nonenothing4412 I'm in the UK, so I got it from amazon. The brand was ablet. I also use it with my monolith m1060 and it works perfectly.

Hey Zeos! The k712 pro are still made in Slovakia. They moved all of the Akg's to China other than the 712, 812 and 872.

I just watched the 2018 and 2020 videos yesterday and I was hoping for a 2021 one. YAY! The M40X are still on the wall. I bought a pair in mid 2018 after watching your review slaughtering the M50X and it's been amazing.
Your description of the focal headphones will surely be a defining moment of 2021.
Zeos has got to hook all those speakers to a gigantic switch like they have at best buy, so he can sit and his desk and switch through 40 pairs of speakers.

I have always tried to stay budget conscious when it comes to entertainment equipment, bought the shp9500s years ago and x2’s. Finally upgraded to sundara with the koss and pads for vr headset. Thanks for the recommendations, I bought the other headphones from past wall videos

Here I am with a pair of Genius SPHF-1800 2.0 PC Speakers at home watching this video in amazement and awe at the love and knowledge for sound reproduction equipment Z has and wondering if some day I might experience at least a fraction of the substance of that world.
I wish I had a basement that size. My area is in a little tiny room but I make it work. I got a 5.2.2 home theatre setup and I got some elac unifi 2.0 ub52’s that I fucking love for my hifi setup. Currently using an ad18 amp for my speakers and saving up for a ps audio sprout! Only headphones I’m rocking are my hifiman sundars and my audeze lcd x(my true love lol). I have a magni heresy/modi schiit stack, a liquid spark amp, and a mx3 topping amp. I love em all. The beautiful thing about audio in 2021 is you don’t have to spend a lot to get amazing sound. Compare budget audio equipment today to very high end audio equipment from 25 years ago and budget stuff out performs or atleast on par with a lot of it. It’s crazy
Thank you for the attention to the AKG 710-Pro; they’re my daily drivers and understatedly underrated (I would straight up recommend them over the Sennheiser HD 600’s - high praise)

Through the years I have learned what it means to be on Z wall. In most part all products need to be a minimum of "B" quality. Many items shine in certain areas giving them an "A" value but may lose marks for quality, comfort, and build. He did have some keepers early on in his career but was in the early 2012's for headphones but keepers weren't in existence yet. Speakers didn't come until later.Thanks for updating Z, the wall looks Great.

Can you do a video for like best closed and open back headphones under each budget, like do a top 3 and which ones you'll recommend under each budget like $50,$100,$150,$200 and so on, i think this will be more detailed.
You can't really get much for 50 bucks, some praise the porta pros but I don't see why anyone would use them. It really depends what signature you like for $100 you could get some hd518 or hd559 if you prefer a little more base. $200 territory should be discounted or used 6xx, Breyerdynamic 770 80ohm or 250ohm if you have something like a fiio e10k (may still be a little weak) or a amp + dac combo from schiit.
29:20 ..." those are the Big Three." Yes, except for Shure SRH840. Aside from the Neumanns, the Shures are the go-to monitor headphones for professional applications.

My kph30i’s and Vever pads came in today. These have more bass than they should, even as stock! Deeper than my Senn hd6xx, though not as tight, and with just a *little* bass distortion. But for $30 total, I’ve done (and could still do) at lot worse and probably not any better! Sibilance can be a bit painful though. Overall, an interesting purchase.
Funny thing is, I got these to tie me over until the Meze 99 Noirs became available again.....they just became available again. *sigh* Off to Drop to drop another $200 from my “stimulus” check!
Z - I think you should also have a wall of speaker history where you have life-size photos of all the speakers and headphones you've had and sold.

I like you leaning 100% into loving the Zeus! I think you need to do that more. You're generally enthusiastic and happy to review a lot of gear, so it sometimes becomes hard to differentiate "I love this" from " I reeeeally like that" and "this sounds fucking good" from "that is phenomenally good". I have the TUKs in black. Look great in my living room and the sound, wow. Once I heard them at RMAF I knew that was my next speaker. They're rugged too. I knocked one or the other off the speaker stand a couple of times in my previous more cramped for space home. Had a heart attack each time, they work still though.

What headphone amp/dac do the koss kph30i benefits the most from for a reasonal price (that maybe also have great parametric eq?)? I have them myself and just love the sound signature. Im using them with Samsung galaxy s10 with a little eq tweak. Im also gonna try modding them to get more out of them. a review of modded/unmodded kph30i with bang for the buck amp/dac (with parametric eq?) would have been intresting to watch - > A tweakable cheap combo that sounds brilliant to whatever you listen to i mean 👍

It's funny but i like the retro's better with the stock pads over any of the XLs
