I paid off my mortgage this week (six years - $336,000) which is a huge deal for me (single, did it all myself). Also pick up my new car on Wednesday. It's a big month for me!

No trainwrecks- we all have our own trials and messy lives. 1. You're so brave for sharing it. 2. You're addressing it. And quickly. So you're doing absolutely amazing. ❤

I personally prefer the avalanche debt payoff method, and it seems like you do too! I'm about 57% of the way through my journey with paying off student debt - very inspiring video!

It's not a train wreck, it's inspiring. My husband and I are on our debt free journey too, there's no shame here. You're meeting it head on!

I took ideas from Dave Ramsey, but I augmented it to fit my life. I think as long as you set up good rules, and you stick to them, you should do what works best for you. Commitment is the key. I never did cash envelopes, because I lose things. I paid off my couple of lowest first, and when I felt comfortable paying things off and had accomplishments, I went to highest interest instead of least amount. I also did my match for my 401K.

This is awesome! I’m not sure if you’ve heard of the avalanche method- but it’s tackling the largest interest first. It takes more determination because you don’t see debts fall off as quickly necessarily but if you follow that method your debts will cost you less over time. It seems like this is what you are hoping to do with your visa. This is very encouraging though!

Good for you! I think that’s a great plan going forward. I’m glad you’re “mad” about what these creditors are getting from you! Use that to continue forward with the same intensity and you’ll be debt free in no time.

You are essentially doing the avalanche method! Which is the one that would save you the most money on interest! Dave Ramsey says to do snowball bc most people would be discouraged, but if you’re not avalanche will save you way more money!
