AGCO: Digital Transformation of Precision Agriculture & Manufacturing with SAFe

A global leader in agricultural machinery and technology, AGCO is passionate about creating solutions that maximize value while improving long-term sustainability for farmers who are feeding the world. Bringing digital technology to the agriculture industry-and to the factory floor-AGCO launched a digital transformation initiative with SAFe in 2019.
Their story spans three years and shows how the organization navigated the complexities of adopting new ways of working in hardware, manufacturing, and industrial cloud applications.
With an attitude of “Leave no one behind!” they focused on maturing practices and aligning everyone on a baseline and building from that foundation. They did this by starting with a few agile teams to build muscle memory of effective behaviors and practices around the competencies of:

• Lean Portfolio Management
• Enterprise Solution Delivery
• Agile Product Delivery
Today, AGCO's practice of SAFe is running strong with 10 ARTs and multiple development value streams and portfolios. Their dedicated efforts led them to be recognized for “Optimal Digital Customer Experience,” and to win the award, Champion of Digital Transformation,” by the business magazine, CAPITAL.
