You did the Filipino food justice. The whole Philippine series you did, thank you. There’s been so many chefs that I’ve watched on tv that hit up the Philippines, but you out did them all. It’s incredible to learn so much more about the Filipino food scene which I think is in it’s prime right now and still yet developing with creative fusions. I’m a Canadian born Filipino who grew up in the multicultural scene of Toronto and so thrilled to see you literally dissect and define Filipino food in a different light. You make me proud.
See the interesting thing with Filipino food is that it isn't even in it's prime yet in the traditional foods. It hasn't been refined to the extent that say, Japanese or French cuisine has undergone. And yet, it is freakin delicious and incredibly satisfying. Many of the younger chefs are into experimenting with more fusion influences but the real treasure yet to be tapped or rediscovered is in the traditional and historical dishes and foodstuffs.
Granted, he was in the more globalized neighborhoods in Metro Manila. Fort Bonifacio, the Manila Bay area, and, surprisingly, the University Belt has very global neighborhoods.

So you met some Saudi ppl in a Philippine fish market and get invited as a guest. You also walked into a Cantonese style restaurant in Philippine, cooked your fish in Sichuan style. Miss it so much...My mouth is watering watching all these food...

Once upon a time no visitor went hungry... Especially on a Sunday. But three men being so kind reminded me of the movie "Taken". -_-too much movies.... Anyway that was great
We eat at this place regularly, and it's kind of surreal to see the vendors in youtube lmao. Best restaurant (or palutuan) in this place is GSquared. It's one of the first palutuans in the place, and one of the few that stayed. I recommend getting shrimp for tempura, crab for chili garlic, oysters for baked oysters, salmon sashimi (the freshest you can get), pork belly for salt& pepper grilled liempo. And i'm not sure what fish is used but just tell the vendor it's for "sinigang sa miso"
i really like the idea of buying your own food dish ingredients right outside the restaurant and inside they literally prepare it for you. Very interesting concept
Middle Eastern hospitality culture is such a beautiful thing. I went to college at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and this video perfectly captures the memories that I have from my exposure to my friends' different cultures. Even though we were all struggling college kids, it is the only time that I have actually experienced people fighting over who pays the bill... not to avoid paying, but because each person wanted to generously pick up the tab for the table at the end of the meal. Good times!😊
Perfect timing. Just got done with my monthly 2 days training. Now riding bus back to base. This will keep me busy. Super nice friendly people at the market to invite them over for a meal.
Mike I watched all your videos thru quarantine, and this episode touched my heart alot. Beautiful human kindness. Thanks for letting him and friends do this for you... Blessings for sure
Why do they upload this at the middle of the night? Like there’s no way I can find an open market selling fresh prawns and crabs near my place right now.
Marion Pelias Um no ?! Wtf Islam is not the only religion practiced in Saudi (that was true like 50 years ago) now we got many Christians and Hindus however they are mostly non Saudis Anyway I’d prefer if Saudi was an only Muslim country better for me overall

A good tip when eating at a buffet or if you’re about to eat a lot of food is to eat some kind of dessert or something with lots of sugar because sugar expands the stomach and helps you eat more ! So technically eating dessert first isn’t a bad thing

Hanna Nice if you live in America i can get you a two way plane ticket to the Philippines for only $200 per person. 1 week stay with free hotel stay and tour all over Manila.
Hanna Ni
Awww the people were so nice in letting you come to their home! Hospitality at its finest!
Love how he just said come on I will feed you bring your staff everyone!
That's cool of you to go to a stranger's hotel for dinner. What a friendly bunch 😀😁 that rice looked great
to his house not hotel
+Sarvesh Agrawal description says "hotel"
Cademan Caden but it’s clearly a house.
+Love Like yeah I just noticed he says "home" in the video, "hotel" in the description. :)
clarissa krigger this was the exact comment I was going to post. Even your comment about the rice. Seafood is my favorite but that guy's rice is what I'm still thinking about. Great minds do think alike. :)
Oh my gosh I was thrilled, touched, and scared all the same time! I was like... "They're really going!!" My people use to be like that... I am not so sure now. Once upon a time no visitor went hungry... Especially on a Sunday. But three men being so kind reminded me of the movie "Taken". -_-too much movies.... Anyway that was great
Haha!

Wow, a chinese guy eating with arabs in philippine soil! This is diversity and inclusion represented in a very candid manner. So happy to see this.
Wish people out here were as friendly the world would be a great place
I love you videos in general, but this one man! Kudos to the guys that invited you
i really like the idea of buying your own food dish ingredients right outside the restaurant and inside they literally prepare it for you. Very interesting concept
I think the going price that they charge right now us $3 to $4 USD per kilo.
You can literally buy a few Kilos of food and eat it for under 50-60 USD.
Try starting one in your place.
Filipino food is so underrated. Love them so much.
Siegfried Final in this video he mostly ate arabian and chinese food
Siegfried Final Filipino foods takes too much time to cook than most asian cuisines. Its not worth cooking it unless you are gonna cook alot.
Bryan Fong your right ,out of the 3 vlogs 2 are about Chinese food
All i saw in this vid was Saudi Arabian dish followed by Chinese seafood main course.
Umm i saw no filipino food in this video.
Its hard to be on a diet watching your vlogs Mikey! I'm super hungry now! Time for some delicious seafood! Great video as always!
Perfect timing. Just got done with my monthly 2 days training. Now riding bus back to base. This will keep me busy.
Super nice friendly people at the market to invite them over for a meal.
fun meal with friendly strangers :-)
Mike I watched all your videos thru quarantine, and this episode touched my heart alot. Beautiful human kindness. Thanks for letting him and friends do this for you... Blessings for sure
Why do they upload this at the middle of the night? Like there’s no way I can find an open market selling fresh prawns and crabs near my place right now.
TIME ZONE my friend, Time zones
What a great experience. For the record-that was the true heart of Islam.
the majority view of it anyway .... the media version is generally just extremists .. which every country has
How do you know they are Muslim though?
Richard Ramos islam is the only religion practiced in Saudi Arabia.
I see thanks for the info.
Marion Pelias
Um no ?! Wtf Islam is not the only religion practiced in Saudi (that was true like 50 years ago) now we got many Christians and Hindus however they are mostly non Saudis
Anyway I’d prefer if Saudi was an only Muslim country better for me overall
I have never seen anyone who eats this deliciously good and havin fun.....I am literally amazed and hooked on u......hmmmm tempting the way u eat and describe the food is just naturally amazing, good job, hope to eat with u....wish😇
I am always amazed by the amazing locations you share. Thank you, Mike!
No matter where we are in this WORLD.... there's people out there with a good ❤❤!!
What a wonderful experience to get that invitation from Ali and his friends - the world would be a much better place if we shared meals. That food looked really amazing and an all round wholesome occurrence.
“do nOT SLEEP ON THE FRIED GARLIC” THAT’S RIGHT MIKEY!! PREACH IT
Mike can say anything and we won't question it. If he tells us not to sleep on fried garlic, we consider that "classic Mikey"
What a kind stranger :-) from Saudi
Wow those men that invited you into their home are so amazing! We should all be so ready to spread our happiness. It feels damn good to be nice to people too, it's so fulfilling :)
A good tip when eating at a buffet or if you’re about to eat a lot of food is to eat some kind of dessert or something with lots of sugar because sugar expands the stomach and helps you eat more ! So technically eating dessert first isn’t a bad thing
I love the place you go mike all the culture and food is amazing! Another great vid
thank you :-)
Arabians are the best when it comes to hospitality and friends ❤️
I am already looking forward to your visit in saudi arabia.. This is a country I know nothing about, especially nothing about the cuisine.. Thats some uncharted country, great to hear that you are going there :) I am sure it is a quite persian cuisine, and they are masters when it is about using different spices..
I thought you would turn down the request for going to their house because it could be dangerous, but they were very nice and friendly.
Evan Takahashi Dangerous? Maybe if they were white or Israeli.
jzizzles true
Do you not see those huge guns on Mike's arm XD
Dangerous pepper rice addiction >.>
Thanks Mikey for always visiting the Philippines!🇵🇭 watching this again after a yr now and its very timely since we’ll be traveling to the country. For sure will visit dampa since we’re from the area, thanks for your video as well👍🏻❤️🍤🦞🦐
Those strangers could be tourism advertisers for Saudi Arabia
As much as that would be funny, i dont think so. Its really ineffective and it takes a lot of time. They just seemed really nice of they recognized mike.
You should eat some mangoes from the Philippines! They're amazing 😊
That dude was the real mvp. That was so awesome he cooked for you and didn’t even know you. God bless people like that.
Good folks always pass on/spread or share their blessing. Those Saudi Arabians had been locally influenced by the accommodating traditions of the Filipinos ! Coincidently, positively good for them & lucky for you, cheers. I'm jealous of you !
Robert S nope lmao I’m from the Philippines lmao most of us are dicks lmao
Arabs are known for hospitality as well
LOL INFLUENCED ?! ARNT YA A BIT DELUSIONAL ? Arabs are known to be hospitable heck boi it was written 1400 years ago (Quran)
If anyone was influenced it was you guys you come from Manila as lady bois into Saudi Arabia , you accept our culture you come back civilized and mannered
I think most foreigners who come to our country will be influenced too because we Filipinos are happy and friendly :)
lol i think the tradition of hospitality has been in Arabia since a thousand years.
Mike, You don't eat the fish skin? My!!! That's the best part of a fish!!
Green Kitty seriously! He eats everything else!
it's literally the worst part
Fry it up until it's crispy. Bacon of the sea lol
He does, he even said, "let me get some fish with the skin".
Rainbow Pink unless it’s crunchy. If it’s slimy, no wayyy
Yes its our country, come to think of it, people can be friendly in whatever country you resides from, this people in the video shows a simple gesture and generousity, from american asian to the middle eastern people can jive, no politics no religion just genuine kindness and food
7:49 wow, that restaurant is cool. I'll just buy ingredients and they will cook it for me. Love it👌 it's amazinb😍❤
Crying right now, missing all these food! I wanna go home!!! 😭😭😭
This is absolutely one of my favorite videos! The hospitable friends you made, the beautiful seafood and the impeccable preparation. I slobber all over my phone just watching this! I would love to have an all day food experience like this with Mikey. You should have a contest for a fan to have a good day with you.
Ali is the kind of personne that every human on heart should be
