Hey Amanda, first off you look amazing🥰. Where I'm from (Barbados 🇧🇧) it's like continuously hot but now it's raining and I'm loving it. I love when you bring these long real time videos, so calming ugh. Seeing the boys help is the cutest thing🥰. Btw Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I was so excited to see some stuff already in stores. Stay blessed.
Amanda, this video was a great way to start my eve. Long videos work for me but either way your videos are a treat. I cooked dinner along with you and enjoyed the chatty vlog. I enjoy the look and sound of the rain. It's not fun to commute in that downpour but at home it's very calming and relaxing. I've seen Christmas decor in some stores where I live. It's way too early for that. Also, why would someone decorate for Halloween over a month in advance? 🙈Love all of your recipes as always. I make the same garlic green beans. It's a delicious side that can be made all year round. Your Chilli, apple crisp and candied pecans made me very hungry as I cooked my own dinner 😁🍽

My mom taught my brothers and I how to cook, clean and do laundry when we were growing up. And now as adults we all have clean homes and cook meals for ourselves and our families. I definitely believe those are key traits to teach your children. My daughter is two and we are already teaching her to clean up after herself. 😊
I agree. I think I failed at that a little as a stay-at-home mom because I felt a little guilt about asking others to help with chores since it was "my job", if you know what I mean. One of those frustrating dichotomies in life. I believe SAHM's should receive more respect because we are on duty 24/7, yet I'm old enough to still be stuck in the attitude that holds us down as women that it is "our job" to do all of the homemaking duties simply because we don't earn a paycheck. I'm so glad to see so many young people knowing that does not have to be the case. It should be a shared job to a certain extent, just as parenting is. Trust me when I say we have to demand respect for ourselves or no one will even think to give it to us.

@@morpheuszzz662 oh you absolutely didn’t fail! I have to be very conscious of it as well… it’s my nature to just do it all myself without asking for help. But I have to remember that not only should it be a shared responsibility, but in the end it will be a favor to them when they grow up. You’re amazing ♥️

I started cooking at the age of nine, out of necessity. Hunger is a good teacher. My childhood was complicated. Now, 62 years later, I don't look like I was ever hungry a day in my life! God is absolutely good! 😂❤
I really love starting my Mondays with you. It is a great motivator to start the week. I enjoy the longer ones. If I need to pause, no big deal, I just go back when I am done with whatever. Some times I even pause to go do a chore. That is how you motivate me. :)

It's a pleasure watching your channel, as always. Here in South Africa, we have a pretty moderate climate all year round, so housekeeping doesn't come with some of the challenges people in other countries might face, BUT as a work-from-home mom, I'd have to say that having a cleaning routine that is staggered according to daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks is a lifesaver. I get anxious when there's clutter, or when the dishwasher isn't emptied, or when the ironing basket heaps up, so my tasks are split to help me cope. I hope this tip is useful to someone somewhere.
Amanda you are the calm to my day! You inspire me to love on my home and enjoy making great recipes. Eating paleo makes me feel so much better so I am motivated to start that way of eating again. Loved seeing the boys help out in the kitchen. I believe the the best way of learning is doing. Way to go. ❤️
When I feel like I’m not enjoying homemaking, I try to make it a point to pray for my family. I’ll pray over my son or hubby while I do their laundry or pick up their messes or pack lunches. It helps me remember that it’s a blessing because the messes mean I have family.

I showed my daughter everything, cook, clean, how to use a washing machine, I showed how to budget, pay bills, never to have credit and store cards and I am pleased that she listened and has kept to this.

I taught my two boys how to look after themselves. They are both able to do what's needed and more. Your boys are just so sweet. They sure do love their mamma!!! 😊

My mom taught my sister and I to cook, and we had chores to do at a young age. Before both of us left for college, we were taught one dish to make completely from scratch. It was so fun cooking the dishes along side her and a wonderful memory. My sister has done that with both of her kids and it is so cool to watch.

No 1 tip would be seek motivation. Watching you helps me a lot. Do something each day. Don’t be hard on yourself. Count your blessings. Staying positive so helps to keep you going with home making. No 1 fan 🇦🇺
My mom has always struggled with OCD and depression. It was so hard growing up. My mom never let me help in the kitchen because she said we would make messes. I'm 24 with my own family and still learning to cook, clean and other things I was never taught. I love that you let your boys help out! It's so good for them to learn these things 💓

You remind me a lot of myself when I was your age, I'm old enough to be your mom but watching you and your family is a sweet reminder of when I was raising my boys. I watch you while I clean. It motivates me quite a bit! Because of this, I prefer the longer videos. But I watch them all irregardless of length.
❤ I learnt as a child how to run a house. Pay bills, shopping,cleaning, make beds change sheets & how to do the lawn & some home maintenance. It’s a skill that is lacking now a days . Keep up the great work you are raising 3 young men with the skills they need in life.

I have taught all of my grandchildren to cook from very young. As they have grownup, they still love to come and cook their favourite meal in my kitchen. I just love it and feel very blessed.
To answer about lighting a candle while cleaning-yes! To motivate myself to clean, I won’t light a candle until the room is all finished. The warmth and scent makes the freshly cleaned room even more cozy, and it’s kind of a reward. Have done this for years! 🤍

I typically clean house on Friday nights. I’ll turn the tv on and go clean something on every commercial.

My best homemaking tip is to always put things away as soon as you are done using it. Keeping my house picked up makes cleaning it easier and faster.
I love rainy chilly fall days. It’s my favorite time of year. I feel so happy to be home with my family lately. It’s easy to get bogged down by the monotony of being a mom sometimes so I am choosing to be grateful ♥️
Always had chores as a child and teen. With my daughters, every Saturday I would have them pic a room as well as myself and chores were quickly completed. I always stay until the end.
My siblings and I were taught at home through chores. We taught our children as well. I worked at a school for several years and was very surprised at what children didn't know how to do. It makes you wonder how they are doing as adults.

I have given my 3 boys cooking skills. Now they can all cook but truthfully, if they get hungry they can cook whatever they want. My 3 are 18,14 and 13
Love watching your videos. I have 3 kids out of my 6 still at home. I have realized that cleaning up as I go when cooking I have hardly any mess at the end. With dishes I put the dishes in the dishwasher shortly before my kids go to bed and run it. In the morning there is usually only a couple cups. In the morning I unload the dishwasher and put the couple cups in anything else one n of my boys does the rest or I do. Each of my kids are responsible for 1 room. When it's the kitchen I help on certain things. We have down sized cups etc in the kitchen 1 plastic plate and 1 glass plate per child and us as well as cup with exeption silverware. Omg the dishes are so much easier to handle. Thank you for all the videos you make.

My #1 tip is to clean a little bit at a time throughout the day. I work from home and have 3 small children all 3 and under. I'm also in the 1st trimester with #4 so I get tired very easily. So I try to take care of cleaning as it needs to be done rather than letting the mess sit and coming back to it later. It just helps keep things from building up and me from feeling overwhelmed.

I try to clean as I cook, saves a huge clean up after dinner. Plus I take a few minutes after dinner to pick up any clutter around the house and put items back where they belong. This has worked well for me for years☀️

It was so important for me to realize that a clean house says NOTHING about my character, worth, or value as a person. A person with a dirty kitchen and a person with a clean kitchen are equal in terms of value. A clean house is a tool to make performing tasks easier or more enjoyable or safer, NOT a display of how put together you are. This was so important for me.
🥰 I think it's super important to teach kids how to clean and do laundry and such. it's important they appreciate what it takes and know how to do it themselves!

I listen to audiobooks whenever I am doing mindless chores (dishes, cooking, ironing,working in my garden, taking a walk, etc.) I use Libby through my public library. Good luck with your makeovers!
To enjoy homemaking more, I try to remind myself that this is an act of service to God; that ultimately I’m doing this for Him. It’s my way of showing gratitude to Him for the blessing of my home & family. It can definitely feel like I’m on a hamster wheel, but I know He sees everything I do. On the practical side, my motivation lies in knowing none of it will get done & my home won’t feel inviting unless I get it done.
I would love to see an actual checklist version of the new and improved cleaning routine you land on. I am having the hardest time finding the right one too!

What I love about you Amanda is the calmness you bring to my life despite our age difference, my daughter is 36 today and my son turns 34 in November. I love the way you conduct yourself and the wonderful mother and wife you are.
I am so different from my extended family and they are not sure why I would want to change my colour schemes for years every season, but finding you, then others doing similar things on TH-cam makes me realise that I am one of many and not alone in doing this.
Then decorating for Christmas I go all out, loving every minute as I have a huge collection spanning 40 years but the child in me rejoices in old favourites and the new additions that find their way to my place yearly.
Here in Australia where I live, Christmas is already in some of the stores. Years ago I would have said it was too early but since COVID you have to prepare so far ahead because if you can't find it in your local store you have to order it from their online store and the wait can be long. So the early bird gets the worm and there is so much less stress when I do things earlier and I love being organised. I have nearly finished my Christmas shopping. By doing things early I get to bask in the meaning of Christmas and the magic of it all.

I think you are spot-on about teaching your kids and such an early age I was taught at a very early age I watched my mom cook I helped my mom cook and when my mom went to work I cooked for the family and there was eight of us so when I cook to this day I cook large amounts of food because that's what I'm used to doing but I love cooking and I learned at a very early age how to wash clothes clean and who knew that that would be what I would do in my adult life and that was to have a cleaning business so I'm glad that I watched my mom do all of that because all of that is a passion of mine I love to cook clean decorate love doing all of that

I always clean the kitchen and do the dishes after dinner. This allows me to relax for the evening, go to bed without it looming over me, and wake up in the morning to a fresh clean kitchen. Then, if the dishwasher was run that night, I unload it in the morning or afternoon and it's ready to be loaded throughout the day.
Yes please. I need a routine. It is perfect timing as I am starting a new job and our schedule is becoming more regular.
Yes my mom taught us 4 girls everything we know and I'm glad she did. I did the same with my kids. I had 2 boys now both grown men, one a firefighter and the younger one is a professional mechanic and I'm blessed and very proud of both of them. When we get together they always talk about the times we spent in the kitchen together cooking and talking. Those are some of their best moments with me. Your video brought back so many memories. I use the same ingredients, but I use red or green grapes. And I add sweet relish and sweet gherkins chopped. So, so good. I toast buns in skillet smeared with butter. I use hamburger buns. I enjoy your videos a lot. When I need motivation to clean house I go straight to your cleaning videos. God’s blessings to you all.

When I was about 11 or so I complained once about how my mom washed my clothes. She was not happy and promptly showed me how the washer and dryer worked and told me if I had any more complains I could wash my own clothes. So I did!
Also me and my brother had a few chores. We had to help clean the table after dinner and took turn unloading the dishwasher. We also had to keep our own rooms clean.
I used to work at a place where there were youth workers as well. 15 and 16 years old. And most of them have never cleaned their own room, washed their own clothes or cooked dinner!!
So haply to see that you let the boys play along in the kitchen 😁 That is what great mommas do!

I totally get how change can throw a routine off. I had recent heart surgery and recovery and all my normal routine is off. Now that my health is improved I'm just trying to get back into doing the things that I normally did but with adjustments for limitations. So I love anything that shows new routines/short cuts! Love the gluten free recipes. Hard to find them. It gets hard trying to always change or adapt regular recipes for diet restrictions. Love your smile!! Have a great week!! 🥰

I think it’s awesome that you are preparing your boys well. At age 6 I cooked washed & cleaned full time for my family. My girls grew up being able to do anything around the home & car & yard.

I always look forward to seeing you on Monday. Loved all the recipes today. Going to definitely give them a try. Your chicken salad looked yummy however I do mine a little different since I am the only one eating it. I mix mine as follows: Can chicken breast, Sweet Salad Pickles, red seedless grapes, chopped apple, 1/2 tablespoon of Duke Mayo, When I eat it I put it on a bed of lettuce, sliced strawberries, and peaches. It is my favorite meal. It was wonderful to see the boys helping you in the kitchen. That's how I learned to cook and the importance of cleaning as you go. Love the recipe for the sweet potatoes my favorite fall food since my husband makes sure they are part of our garden. I really love when holiday stuff comes out early because some people really like to take time to diy holiday projects and presents and this gives time for sales to hit and not have to buy everything full price

Those recipes look great. I had my boys cook with me in the kitchen but now they are grown on their own with their families and they are all amazing cooks. I could almost smell this video. ❤. I love cooking when the weather is rainy or snowy. It really does make the house cozy and warm

I really enjoy your longer videos. I have found that having a cleaning routine has changed my mindset. It shows me I can modify it to fit my needs as I have a disability and I need to be able to change things. Meal Prep and getting into Intermittent Fasting has made a huge difference for me as well.
