I want to address the comment The Don made on the panel. I work with trafficked victims, and it's a thin line when it comes to the victim who becomes the victimizer. Cassie was at an age where she was extremely able to be influenced and even FORCED into the same type of abuse. It's not as easy as just walking away from a person like Diddy. Even in my profession, we have had to move girls literally across the country after testifying against their exploiters.
To me the comment that he made was worse than the video that we watched how dear some people speak on things that they know nothing about he has no idea what it is to be a victim of sexual and physical abuse is shameful and these are our brothers that constantly disrespect us if they not beat us in the head screaming at us Now they’re telling us what to do our bodies. They’re telling us when we abused that is our fault and we could’ve did something different. We could’ve did something about it. We could’ve left. This is someone that is uneducated in the area. He has no expertise is sad is sad. I’m literally cryingwhile I’m writing this, nobody knows what it’s like to be a victim into you all want, and I pray that you never become one

Honestly, I don’t believe Cassie was actually trafficked. The lawyers are using the fact that they traveled around to twist domestic violence into trafficking because he did not want to pay up in the beginning. No one has come forward claiming to be a sex worker or solicited by either of them. Even though this trafficking went on for years and years? The law suit also said she was the one who got the sex worker in the beginning because he had a fantasy. They would have drug binges in hotels together but she was not held captive as Diva said she DID leave.
Very disturbed and disappointed in Tha Don’s and his comments especially after seeing the video.
For The Don to have daughters, it is very troubling to hear his sentiments on this topic. He is very arrogant and can’t process nuance. There is a way to show empathy for Puffy’s other victims without being dismissive of Cassie and put her in any position of dominance. This is not Real Housewives. This is real life.
The power dynamics of Puffy being older, rich, powerful, with a record label of artists who he also failed, and in a system of patriarchy played against Cassie. She was not in a position of a madam; she was groomed by men of the industry not only by Puffy but also Ryan Leslie and others. She signed up as a teenager to be an artist and model only to be manipulated and abused into the role of a s worker to seek male escorts for Puffy.
He has an issue with Cassie that might go deeper than he's willing to talk about....it would seem. His disdain for Cassie is absolutely disgusting. He called her a "Madam"....where did Cassie say she was this? Look up the definition of a MADAM and it does NOT match what Cassie's law suit had in it. I have not seen any video of Cassie mocking or laughing at Kim Kim,so I would like to actually see it for myself. Sometimes what is portrayed on TV, is NOT what is going on behind the scenes....just a thought.
@@cilla-themusiclover There'd never be a recipt of Casskie laughing at Kim in a home setting - if its true. The only reason we have video evidence of her beating is due to it being in a public place. Any private setting video would never be released by the abuser. So your belief she did laugh is not realistic IMO. I'm on the fence whether she laughed or not. Kim's friend Boof been deemed unstable for decades with her comments on Black Voices way back in the day is why I'm on the fence w/ her accustion of if Cassie laughed. I would like to address one of the comments that was made on the show after I heard it. I couldn’t even watch it anymore. If you’ve never been sexually abused or physically abused, you have no idea the control that that person has over you. I was from a little girl to a grown woman And you do whatever it is that they tell you to do you become like a robot they turn you on and they turn you off. Family came around. I knew how to smile and put on a happy show for everybody from years of abuse I have had many years of therapy, when men make comments on, this is so upsetting because you have no idea what it is to be a black woman and a black woman that have been abused by a black man. It’s so easy for everyone to have an opinion, but unless you have lived this, you have no idea what you’re talking about and you have no idea what you would do in the situation and what you won’t. Do you know why because you’re not in control and that’s what I need everybody to know, someone else is controlling you someone has control of your thoughts your actions your emotions everything even when you get out they still have a level of control over you
I had to get off this live..it bothered my spirit how they were more concerned with saying Cassie victimized girls she should be held accountable blah blah blah, after watching this assault..immediately blaming her for setting up FO’s you know Diddy made her do a lot of dirty work or else..it happens he hade control of this young girl..
@@msvee_01 it was so upsetting. I couldn’t believe it. They have no idea what it’s like to be in a narcissistic relationship and to be abused physically and sexually you feel helpless powerless. It was a very sad night and they have no idea about the levels of abuse it’s very intense. And then they don’t know that narcissist will disregard you in the end and then let you go like you never meant anything to them. It’s really brainwashing. I love the platform, but I had to second-guess it last night.
Never been abused, seen it happened often in my neighborhood growing up. Should you choose to answer, can you say why you stayed after the 1st time as a grown woman? I work PT and can and do receive DV calls , give info/where to go etc. So I get an earful of what women been thru in that situaton w/ broke boyfriends/husband. Some of whom doesn't even work living off the victim. SMH Often the answers the most with but I love him/feel sorry for him. By the grace of God, because I've never been thru this nor could imagine it w/out leaving after the 1st time -- I never understood after the 1st beating to stay (for me) - I think he would've beaten the love/sympathy I would have for him. And would leave ASAP. But like you said, if you've never been down that road, you never really know what you'd do.
@@msvee_01 I think what may have been missed is that when more than 1 person's involved in anything good or bad, both parties has some responsability - period. A person will always do to you - what you'll allow be it from a child, teen, grownup, a pet. Cassie had 2 options = stay or go after beating #1, and she chose the former for whatever speculative reason(s) the public considers after beating #1. Had she called the cops the 1st time AND it went public TOO, AND never to return, guess who wouldn't have been beaten again by the same abuser? Yes, the abuser can stalk and beat again if catches her, but it wouldn't be convenient to do so. AN ABUSER of any kind gets away with it due to secrets.
A woman can't help the 1st paw whooping, but after the 1st one - accountability and responsibility for her/his own life and safety (cause men are physically abused too) now comes into play. He had control because she gave it to him - period after beating #1 for whatever reason(s) when she stayed. She felt the beatings was worth whatever she was getting out of the relationship be it material possessions/feelings/ etc. Only she knows the real reason why she stayed after 1st beat down
I think it would be beneficial to have a DV expert present on this channel to shed light on just how deep the pathology of DV abuse runs and why some victims stay. It is not so surface as some believe.

Most of the guests on this panel actually have disdain for Cassie. It's obvious. None of us were in Cassie's life and maybe just take a step back and TRY to imagine her youth and not knowing HOW to get out of a CONTRACT and STAY alive at the same time. Just a thought.

Disdain? Based on what did you draw that conclusion from the panel? Questions of accountability on her part discussed and her lack of action taken after the 1st beating wasn't done. She took the drug 1st time he asked, prior to the beatings - which she did when we all know drugs are a no-no.. Many who are triggered were also being posed w/ the same panel questions & facts expressed. Often times DV victims never like to address their own responsiblty/accountability after beatg .#1 for their own safety if they go back.
Nobody can't help beating #1, but choices are made after the 1st beating and actions taken or not after that is the initial victims responsibilty and accountability too. Criticisms of her choice to stay is met by those triggered w/ excuses IMO. Young doesn't mean dumb, she had access to big time lawyers, the internet, and music insiders to learn and apply breaking a terrible contract.
Breaking the contract had no real power from him, because she had little $$ to lose being financially mantained by Diddy. End of day she made her choices & sadly she has to live with it. Everybody willing has the ability to express their opinion of her choice rightly/wrongly. Thus, it doesn't exempt any facts reported and stated from folk who see both sides being reported to the public. The only majority concensus is - diddy's a hot arze mess!

Perhaps Tha Don should have done his own due diligence and researched the meaning of 'coercive control' before making ill-informed remarks about Cassie's situation. He would have discovered that abusers exert their power by creating conflict between victims and compelling them to engage in dubious or criminal acts. There is no "ideal" victim, and abusers work to diminish their victim's character and self-worth in order to maintain control over them.
Diva I am shocked at what is coming out of your mouth. There are thousands of women being abused and staying with their abuser. And they are not rich.I believe just has many if not more women or in abusive relationships with broke men.

As someone who works in hotel industry its up the management team to report this issue to the police. However when this happened the video was more than likely sent to the corporate headquarters of IHG to there risk asset management group as so as it happened. When diddy checked into the hotel he already had pre-blocked rooms and a floor to himself and his crew.

To be fair, I never knew one egregious thing that did he did before the Cassie lawsuit. I never heard any credible or even incredible media source talk about how vicious and violent he was to his late wife and Cassie and whomever else. So it’s quite possible that Cassie didn’t know that I think she met him She was like 18. Let’s say Cassie‘s friends is telling the truth that Cassie witness Diddy being violent to his ex-girlfriend… Sometimes people believe, especially victims, and especially young victims, the violators will change… Is it smart? It’s not smart and it’s unsafe. But it happens across the globe. So I’m not gonna blame Cassie for making probably the worst decision of her life and ending up in the hands of a savage human being like P. Diddy. Violence is never the victim whether they knew about this person’s past behavior or not. Abusers often love bomb THIER new victim. So maybe unfortunately, Cassie fell for the love bomb. That’s how I felt but I think we’re all learning and we’ve all had different experiences and when you’re talking about something that’s on a deep traumatic level and you’re not a therapist. You gotta be real careful. You gotta be real careful about what you think is because you could be doing more harm than good and I really think that genuinely she just didn’t know, and sometimes we go along with something because it sounds good, but they have no idea on the clinical level the damage that they’re doing I was super triggered from this video. I could not believe what they were saying and how they were accusing a person that has been victimized, sexually abused, physically abused forcefully given drugs I pray that everybody on the panel and everybody in the chat just learn to get proper information

That was one of the silliest things said on the panel, regarding the video being edited to not see everything. As if further context would have changed anything. This is the enabling behavior that MANY older BW engage in when it comes to violent BM. They are part of the problem.

Someone in the chat or on the panel mentioned that they would not let a female love one date or marry an abusive male. But if the female keeps her abuse a secret, a person would not know if their love one is being abused. And they will be shocked when they find out.
I think Cassie was dependent on Diddy and may have felt she had to do not legal things to prevent what we saw in the video and to continue reaping the benefits of the relationship and/or fulfill or contractual obligations. On the flip side, if what Kim's friend said is true, why would she think it's funny seeing another woman being harmed. Perhaps what happened to her is, unfortunately, her karma and a horrible learning lesson. Maybe some people don't disbelieve her, they may just lack a bit of sympathy for what she went through because of how she potentially treated others and her motivation to have fame and money she did not need to survive.
I'd like to know how the "friend" knew Cassie was laughing. Was she there? If so, why didn't she call the police, step in and try to stop Diddy? Why was she watching Cassie, instead of helping her "friend." Wasn't Kim Porter almost 20yrs. older than Cassie and was with Diddy and watched him to the same to the woman before she got with him? If a near 50yr was afraid to stand up to her abuser, why would anyone think Cassie wouldn't be afraid. The abuse didn't start with Kim and Cassie and neither did the freak offs. If Cassie got her "karma" then, so did Kim, according to your logic. Diddy is the only monster in this horror story.

Also lot of folk think Puff raised Q - but he was raised in Columbus, GA w/ Kim's mom with visits with Kim until high school when he moved to CA. Again, Puff acting like the truly great step-dadesque like the fam pics he posts now.
Many abused women has jumped on the person trying to protect them from the abuser, and sometimes the protector has ended up disabled/dead all the while the woman goes back to the abuser. My neighbor ended up in a wheelchair trying to help a woman being beatened at a nightclub. So I don't blame totally the people that witnessed the beatings and didn't try to help. Ex: look what Cassie did to her friend when Puff went for her - I think she helped Puiff and why she had to pay too. I also think Puff had Cassie w/ women too at the FO's given his proclivities preferences.

That was his first way to manipulate and gain control over her and I’m sure he threatened her and reminded her at every turn that she owed him and she was probably scared of him and knew the power and protection he had..so I’m not going to judge or blame a twenty year old for not understanding what was in play from the beginning. Let's get real honest - she had mediocre talent as a singer/performer at best. But given the overall lack of real musical talent in her age group, stardom was attainable. Her lust of the eye of what she could have (material possessions in this case) was stronger IMO than her safety to her. If true the payoff for her were beatings = being taken of life's bills at the highest level, seen on TV, go to fancy parties. People like me who refused to be obligated to anyone because they care for my livlihood = beatings not worth it can't totally understand that. But if you covet finer things in life and attn, the payoff of beatings are bearable.
Furthermore, given she was dating a producer when she met Diddy, how was it she didn't know a 10yrs contract wasn't the norm? As always as a young person, the bright lights draws them in despite all the previous cautionary tales, and forgetting the word "business" in show business. Always wondered did she age out or was he scared of her "white" boyfriend/now husband as to why there wasn't a car bomb etc like her black suitors? Hmm
As always a bully rationalizes why and who they can bully. And despite the reported submissive nature she showed him for years, he still pawed her. SMH And where were her parent(s) role in all this? At the very least she has a book for cautionary tales on the biz side for folk entering music biz.

@@msvee_01 10 album contract. Most artists don't put out 10 albums in a career over the span of a lifetime. That's considerably longer than 10 years. I agree with you though. There are layers to why victims stick around and it's rarely just one thing, but the FEAR is the driving force. Is it easier to leave, risk getting unalived and then having no way to support yourself financially, AND having to give up on your dream of being a recording artist, all while being addicted to drugs? It is a lot. She finally got free but leaving an abusive man/relationship is a process. It doesn't happen overnight just like the worst of the abuse doesn't happen overnight.

Let’s take a deep dive and go back to when hitting start or why did this happen? I’m not saying it’s right, but I need clarification on WHY this happened? Is it the reaction of cheating, STD or money missing?
I think it is unfortunate that you could not find a different way to deliver your message regarding Cassie. I think most everyone would agree that money is not worth your soul and fame is not worth your peace of mind. There is a more productive way to discuss this without your gross oversimplifications and without the anger and harsh language directed towards women who find themselves in similar circumstances. Discussing angles of self worth, pride, and confidence so that you can better recognize the early signs of a dangerous relationship and walk away, before it gets bad, would have been a great topic. It would have been something that not everyone else was talking about... But it seemed more important to rant about how this happens to women all the time, we've seen it before, and how Cassie stuck around for the money. It was all very off putting and you, and several of your panelists, have done more damage than good with your positions. This tone and attitude is not the tone and attitude that encourages women, who are being abused, to leave. It makes them shrink and sink further into it. I know that was not your intention, but that's what you did. This makes you part of the problem. Good luck. I won't be back.
