I’m praying for Dr. Tony Evans and his family, I know this is difficult for them..he’s a great teacher of the word of God. I’ll extend GRACE in the same manner I want to receive it..
First we are believers (Christians) we do not have to confess before a man or a congregation, if we fail in our role as a leader we are to do exactly as he did step down..Savannah, he literally said he committed no CRIME but a SIN!! I don’t know how you can insinuate underage children..that’s wrong to place that type of characterization on him with no details as of yet. And it’s also a crime!!
The main thing we have to remember is that we are ALL sinners , and for me I’m saved by grace through Jesus Christ .. I worship no man but my Lord and Savior Jesus. If we keep Jesus as our focus we won’t put such a high level of trust to the point you believe your pastor no longer can sin..we all can sin..
The Bible states that we should confess our sins one to another!

Hey Diva!! This was a great conversation. With all of the great teaching that he has been giving over the years, I feel like Pastor Evans is condoning secret sins. His members deserve clarity and consistency. Lack thereof could create trust issues.
He's not the only one. Many other pastors are guilty of the same "sin" but they are not coming clean.

I've had emergency due to high Bp but I had to wait before seeing the Dr while they monitored my heart rate for few minutes. It was 226/110. I was wheeled to the ER and had to fill out form about my insurance
Don’t forget that hidden abortion is also a sin. Not saying he did anything like that. There are many hidden sins a person can commit. Even verbal abuse.
ALL of us fall short of God's Glory. Who are we to be judge and jury. That's God place. Pastor Tony is handling this situation the correct way. It's between God and him. The fact he's doing the right thing is and sharing with the elders is more than all the other Pastors and Priest that deny or are still in ministry preaching. To find your peace or your curiosity, read your bible.
The Bible specifically states that we must attend church. And we will be blessed in doing so. Also we should not forsake the fellowship of the brethren. This is stated in the Book of Psalms. So i don't subscribe to the saying that 'I can worship God at my home". I am aware and understand church hurt but I have to fight pass that. God is the centre of it all. Blessings 🙏🏽,

I read Evans' statement which does not include an apology or an expression of sorrow. Evans did not ask for forgiveness or even state that he has sought forgiveness from God or from the people or person who was hurt or harmed. He didn't even ask his church to forgive him. I'm simply stating the obvious. If a leader is stepping away due to secret sin, shouldn't he apologize? We didn't open up this can of worms, Pastor Evans did that all by himself. On Sunday, his youngest son indicated that he doesn't even know his father's secret sin but he will return to preaching.

Sounds like he didn't have health insurance. He didn't mention anything about insurance card only employer which is one question they ask on you Admission form.

Now, as for this pastor, I do believe that people put too much faith in the pastor instead of God. They think that faith in the Pastor is the same as faith and obedience to God. That is not true. If he did commit a crime the deacons need to report it to the police. This is not the Catholic Church.

Dude from the Four Tops said he was worried about stalkers and fans….ok. We using celebrity loosely. Also they owe him… what was the psych eval for? Sometimes when people are having medical Emergencies their behavior can be mistaken for psych issues and it’s a heart issue or stroke. This very situation happened to my cousin with the straight jacket and she need oxygen whole time. That hospital has some patient care issues and will end up settling.
Hey Diva!! I’m wondering if it may have been infidelity against the 1st wife. And, instead of marrying the mistress, he married this new wife. I’m sure the church would be willing to forgive him especially since it’s past tense. I’m just not sure how stepping down now is even effective. Perhaps someone in the church found out and word started circulating.
First, No, he did not marry his associate pastor's wife. She was out of state and husband was a pastor in Atlanta. Its on the church website and google.... however that's something wrong i keep on seeing in other videos so maybe you are getting info from other videos...as far as sin, I'm assuming he brought it up to God when it happened.
