Definitely not a match. This season has been an absolute disaster. Anxiety ridden participants, pathological liars, cheaters, and God only knows what else. Who is vetting these people?
Shockingly, the USA's version of Married at First Sight claims over 50,000 applicants per season (in the most recent years of the show, at least), eventually narrowed down to the couples now featured...all of which were selected after what the so-called "experts" call an "exhaustive"/"extensive" selection process
@Pamela Morris I'd say the show's real strategy is to match per season only 1 - 2 couples who are genuinely compatible (which most viewers will admittedly find "too bland/boring to watch"...but at the same time it at least gives the show somewhat of an "above-zero" success rate, just enough to avoid show cancellation. For example, the overwhelming majority of viewers will even admit they were way more disinterested/uninterested in watching the "too bland/boring" love story between 7th season's still-married Danielle Bergman & Bobby Dodd than they were in watching the now-divorced Mia Bally & Tristan Thompson and/or Amber Martorana & Dave Flaherty).
After that, it's then the "combative"/"controversial" hence "more exciting to watch" couples...which sadly are also the only couples bringing increased viewer number & ratings combined with increased youtube views & comments (especially at the emotional expense of a bride who's on the show genuinely "for all the right reasons"...matched with a groom who's also on the show although "genuinely in it to promote his career and/or social media status". I'm quite certain the only couple in the USA version's entire history that's a reverse-gender version of that is this 10th season's Taylor Dunklin & Brandon Reid...although Brandon not nearly as genuine as the previous brides who were unfairly matched with fame/status seekers. I think this 10th season is the very first time there's actually been 2 such couples instead of only one).
And sadly I'm also quite certain the show's producers most probably had all participants signing contracts that flat-out says the show isn't legally liable for emotional/personal damages (including suicide, which actually has happened participants on at least one American and/or international reality show)

Do you recall the scene where the other black guy (the guy that lies all the time) was leaving and he told Brandon, lets tell everyone bye? Brandon walked right out of that house but the other guy walked in the kitchen and barely told his "wife" bye. He was helping production and thought that he could get Brandon to follow him in there with everyone to create a big scene. That's why Brandon wouldn't open the car door for him and told him he doesn't trust him.

Even when the world could see that Derek's wife was clearly bothered by how him and Taylor were being chummy, Taylor still cont to be chummy and allow Derek to be chummy. I used to dislike Brandon at the beginning of the season, but now I see where he is coming from. Taylor obviously isn’t the woman she portrays herself to be. He’s being made out to be the bad guy when there’s things she does that production knows nothing about.

The producer was wrong for trying to exert his dominance. If Brandon does not want the microphone on him, he can take it off.
He can't just take the microphone off during filming, its in their contract, the producer said that they told him that at the wedding, he spasmed out before he walked down the aisle, because he was hungry, and he was mad about the food at the reception, but didn't pay for nothing, he threw one of the producers phone, they just spoke about it, nobody knew that he had already demonstrated this behavior with the producers, even before he met Taylor

I don't understand why he can't take off the microphone but other couples can walk out on their spouse during filming. It's the same thing to me, different action same motive. Look at pass seasons. I believe that are targeting Brandon because of his behaviour.

Kimberly Austin Legally you cannot force someone to have a mic on them without their consent. He retracted his consent. They are using intimidation and aggressiveness to incite him to respond negatively. It is illegal to entrap someone in a space and not allow them to leave. I’m sure the contract details consequences for leaving or inhibiting the producers from filming, but they physically CANNOT force this man to stay and continue filming. He has a human right and legal right to privacy. He clearly needs space and they are disrespecting him by using textbook methods of escalation. The production team has some serious issues and are ethically wrong.
I abhor taylor. She's a liar, she starts problems and makes others think he is the problem....like she's trying to get others on her side before the truth comes out. How did "experts" not see that her maturity level is not there?

I think Brandon has received a bad edit. I'm starting to believe that Taylor has been spinning the narrative from the very beginning. Brandon's "anger" is reactive to Taylor and productions manipulative story telling. Taylor is deceptive and has been playing it up for the cameras from the beginning. Brandon is tired of it all. both of them are mad about communication but can't communicate themselves. Brandon said Taylor didn't tell him she wasn't coming home. Taylor says Brandon waits too long to talk about a problem. Both of them communicate poorly. And this may be an unpopular opinion but Brandon is an angry person. He very clearly is comfortable jumping in the producers face and antagonizing him. And trust, if he's like that with production, he's been that with to Taylor. We saw it at the honeymoon. That's not a one time thing. It's a pattern. He's very easily angered.
Brandon AND Pastor Cal spoke to Taylor about going out all night and acting like a single woman before and she made her excuses. Does he need to tell her 'hey, you're married' again? She sleeps out at some hotel THEN plays dumb like she has no clue what's up with him, like if he hasn't expressed his frustration several times before. Is she that dumb? No. She just don't care.

I’m sorry, they both have issues. Yes, Taylor is manipulative and conveniently leaves things out when telling stories, like how she didn’t come home, downplaying her “single” video, etc. But Brandon is also too quick to shut down, get aggressive, and curse people out. He is a loose cannon with a short fuse and as far as the cameras, he KNEW what he signed up for and if he couldn’t handle it what was he doing there?! I think they both lack some serious self-awareness.

@@alexisdavis7578 Brandon Reid first emotionally abused Taylor Dunklin during the honeymoon by giving her the cold shoulder treatment FOR NO REASON (which he later told her was because of a "panic attack"),...And then second he verbally abused her IN FRONT OF THE OTHER COUPLES on the ride from the honeymoon hotel to the airport...Plus there are other youtube videos showing him being abusive towards both Taylor and the production crew

It doesn't excuse him acting that way, but I do think he is basically having an anxiety attack there and doesn't have good skills to cope with that. He definitely needs to learn those skills, but it's not like it means he is a bad person. I feel really bad for the production team to be treated that way, I just feel bad for him too, because I think he's having a hard time.
You can tell a lot about what's going on with him from these outbursts. When he gets upset, and feels like he is being misjudged, he jumps into this mindset where everyone is against him, which people tend to do if they were misunderstood a lot growing up. He reacts to these feelings by becoming incredibly anxious, and EVERY time reacts with protective things, lashing out at authority, and putting up guards to respect his physical autonomy. He is a black man who grew up in the US, and from the stuff about his brother, probably in an area that was tough to do so. You can see this when he pulls out his phone in the bathroom with Taylor "to protect himself." For black people in the US, I think that's a natural motivation. It's also not probably uncommon for him to have that mistrust of authority, which is probably why he seems to lash out at production, the authority while they are the show.
I think EXACTLY what happened in the bathroom was basically what happened with the restraining order situation. Taylor upset him by being disrespectful, and he reacted by first acting like he didn't care while trying to ensure his side was documented (like where he repeats her calling him the B word to make sure the camera got it.) Then when she leaves and he still feels very upset, he starts having his anxiety/anger reaction. She unfortunately responds to this by touching him and trying to get him into a small space to communicate with her. She's probably trying to de-escalate, but the last thing somebody needs in the middle of an anxiety attacks is to have their physical autonomy disrespected by refusing to stop touching him and basically forcing and locking him in the bathroom.
I was actually really concerned when I saw that, because I was worried that he would become so overwhelmed with being locked in that space being touched when he didn't want to, that he might physically push her away, or physically push her away from the door. It is VERY difficult to overpower your urges to push someone away when you have that fight or flight response and you feel trapped and are being touched and don't want to be.
So I think at the bar, Taylor and Brandon were both a few drinks in, and just as in this scene he is probably very hurt and upset at seeing his ex at in "his space" with a new guy already. He probably felt at the time that this was proof she was never really in the marriage at all. First he reacts by showing how much he doesn't care, and that he just thinks it's funny, by having a friendly conversation with the new boyfriend. When he begin to leave, he's still upset and wants to document what to him is proof of what he's been saying all along, so he runs after them to get a photo wanting documented proof (again a natural reaction for him.) She probably responded the same way as the bathroom, where she started touching him and trying to take him aside, and he was freaking out, and felt his physical autonomy was not respected. Surely at this time he started recording video. I see both sides, but I don't think anyone physically hurt the other nor meant to.
She's crazy ..He should cut his losses and leave this toxic situation.
He had every right to remove his Fkn mic!!! Production wanted him to blow up and I'm glad he maintained his composure and I hope they divorced she can't be trusted!
Why is everyone defending Brandon? The guy has an attitude problem and really ga e off vibes from the very start, neither HIM or HER looked sincere. I think alot of people like to hate on Taylor just because she is pretty...they both are fakes but brandon is dangerous.
Go watch Psychology in Seattle! Dr. Honda explains his behaviors!! Poor Brandon has anxiety, like BAD!! and there is NO respect for him whatsoever! He's triggered. He may have PTSD. but the camera crew should have backed off!
I could NOT be with a man who refuses to address issues timely. Why does he sit on things and give his wife the silent treatment forever before saying what's on his mind? They had the whole car ride over to talk about this.
I agree with you on this one. He does not handle stressful situations very well. I will say this, she's very toxic for him. I'm not saying that she's a toxic person, but for him she is
@T M I can't disagree with you on that. Yes, if you are socially anxious person, you should not be on this show. I have 3 theories: A socially anxious person might see this as a way to build confidence. For others, poor social and self understanding/consciousness can cause them to underestimate the stressors of Reality Television. Lastly, would be an individual hoping to garner attention. In this case it's the latter, and it's not positive.

Taylor: the moment a guy tells u not to touch him…the LAST thing u should do is trap him inside of a bathroom with u. It just escalates the situation. Had he actually put his hands on u…u would’ve been quick to call the police and feign the victim mentality when all u had to do was just leave him TF alone. He would’ve come back around when he got ready. And stop doing s**t that provokes people! Yes, there IS such a thing as u provoking a man to put his hands on u and when u do that guess what? That s**t is on YOU. He’ll be wrong to put his hands on u. But u played the part in him putting his hands on u in the first place.

I think Brandon was actually one of the realest on the show everyone was fake af! Expect for Derek, Mindy, Jess and her man I forget his name. Fake people trying to be someone with their fake selves.

It use to be a joy to watch. But ur right. Its become one of those unrealistic Reality shows, smh. This season is especially Garbage, ugh.
1. I did not see him SNAP at anyone. The production seemed to have intentionally provoked that reaction. 2. The wife is in the wrong in my opinion.... so why are we acting like he had no reason to be upset?
