I can not believe the other side tried to sink his campaign by calling him senile. The breadth and depth of his memory inside a very busy and chaotic career in government is impressive. I can’t remember what I did on Tuesday and he’s recalling specifics of conversations with senators 40 years ago.

As anyone who’s dealt with a dementia patient will tell you, there’s the good days and then there’s the bad days. Of course Joe Biden is gonna seem coherent in an hour long interview, but this doesn’t automatically rebuke the numerous instances where he was in clear cognitive decline.

@@NinoBlackshe's 81 and he's still got it. his state of the union speech was incredible and his humour was on point during his sit down with seth meyers. he stayed for a while after his sotu speech, conversing with loads of people, he did an interview afterwards. he's pretty well known as quite a talkative person, also a night owl (all of those press talks at 2am).
he's not suffering from cognitive decline. sure, some natural aging but definitely nothing major. he does far too much for dementia to be a believable diagnosis. even robert hur admitted to being surprised by how good his memory and recall is.
he genuinely sounds just as engaged and enthusiastic now as he does here. it shouldn't be a huge shock, most people age just fine.
I hope Biden appears on the pod again now that he’s the presumptive nominee.

The fact that Obama didn't want people to know the success of the measures that his administration had taken is a good example -- but for the wrong reasons -- of policies triumphing over politics. People need to know how their government, if not the administration, is working for them.

The depth of his experience and knowledge from 42 yrs in the US Senate and 8 yrs as Veep is truly beyond compare. His age shouldn’t work against him. These days, people who have enjoyed good health/healthcare are living and working well into their 80s (Biden is 78.) This is the man who, along with a couple of his peers and armed protection negotiated the end of the war in Bosnia by meeting with Slobodan Milosovich in the middle of a remote field somewhere in the former Yugoslavia in the 90s! I think he can beat Trump because of the breadth and depth of his experience and because of his knowledge of how our government works-its checks & balances. He is very relatable to the working class 2X Obama voters who then voted for Trump. He speaks their language and can bring them back into the Democratic big tent. I hope that he would pick one of the women who are running in the primary (my choice would definitely be Kamala Harris,) to be his running mate. **One more thing, I was so impressed with what he had to say about the huge and game-changing breakthroughs that are occurring in the treatment of cancer!! Go, Joe!!!

After watching that I was very hopeful that he might be the new US President (I’m Australian) and rather impressed with his grasp of scientific issues (I’m a medical doctor).
Now, I’m hoping even more that he will soon be your president, but I am also a little saddened that he won’t have that role in coordinating cancer research. Dude is amazing!

overall, i would say he's still a pretty good speaker. he has more great moments than meh. i wouldn't even say he has bad moments, there's always meaning and passion even if it takes him a bit longer to round it up. he's a sweet person

I like Biden, but he came across as subtly egotistical in this interview. I don't remember him being like this when he was VP or before. He obviously positioning for a 2020 run, which i think would be a bad idea.
This wasn't really an interview. It was just him rambling about himself and all the things he and he alone apparently accomplished. It was painful to listen to. I generally like him but this was bad and he came across badly.
I didn't really understand where you were coming from when I was roughly 30 min in. I did think that it was more of an interview and there was more of a structure in the beginning. The next 30 minutes were certainly worse and it did feel a little like what you described. Around the hour mark, for a short while, it was more like an interview again and then without any questions from the guys, it again turned into a longer monologue that isn't as enjoyable to listen to.
Joe Biden really thinks Americans want his Establishment Crony self to be the next President. In reality, we want someone anti-establishment and unbought. Biden personifies the Status-Quo in every way imaginable. And he's always been owned by corrupt Big Money. I'm sick of him too.
