I like to consider myself an Excel nerd and have done quite a lot with Excel. I’m blow away that this only took you a week and a half. The Excel part is easy. I’m mind blown you were able to find this type of data that quickly to create this analysis.
Worth $20 for anyone considering buying this dataset. The time it takes to collect this type of data is insane.

As a fisherman in waders I see a lot of flats in my local river and I always had it in my head to cast far to the deeper water. But as in this video you have shown that the flats/shallows work really well. And lately the bass I've caught were in shallow flats. Great tedious work and I appreciate the time and effort to share it with us.

Excellent analysis! Please keep building this data base!
Pre tournament time should be scouting shallow water and off shore flats for structure and marking them with your GPS. Watch lots of videos on fishing drop shots and the other top three shallow water baits to master them. Tournament day, go to your spots that had shown the most fish and work those baits. This should give you more consistent catches and higher numbers of bigger fish over the season.
Fishing just for fun? Learn about Alabama rigs and just throw/troll it. There is a good reason pro tourneys ban them....they work!

Awesome video. The only thing I see missing, which probably can't be determined, is what percentage of the entire field fished offshore vs shallow. If 70% fished shallow but shallow only won 52% then offshore could still be better. Again not sure that info could even collected and could be why your personal results where different as you split the time 50/50. Thanks again for the video.

Most of the tournament anglers don't have the time to look for deep water fish. The ones that do usually do that after they have located some shallow water fish. If you concentrate only on deep water fish you will find better quality and unpressured fish but also run the risk of not finding any or enough to win. With the improvements of down imaging and side imaging you may start to see more off shore wins.
If you are successful off shore I would stick to that. The one tip you should give is time on the water. The more time you spend on the water the better you will become. Excellent video by the way!

Very interesting results Johnny my fishing partner and I have discussed this too as we fish similar Waters to you here in the Kansas Missouri area and this last season we found that even an offshore situations in these man-made reservoirs the majority of fish in the middle of the summer we're in 10 to 15 ft of water and shallower and it tends to be true that our shallow water bite is more consistent throughout the year than the offshore bite so I would say that that rings true you're findings that is

This is a decent analytical start - I keep a very similar filterable pivot table with more fields to include water clarity, bait color, water temp, weather conditions and others to try and establish patterns. I make it sharable with my team to widen the data capture.
