When was there a time in NHRA competition where there was equal representation for all the manufacturers? GM has always had more of a presence for a majority of years.
I doubt that. You've got two coming with already a field of Camaros with no word on anyone switching. I believe there are 4 Fords at the moment. Would like to see more Chrysler representation along with Turk's Blackbird.
What did we do before Lonnie Grim came to town? Lonnie the wire man and super comp driver now an NHRA tech guru. That makes me very afraid for the sport!!!
Not really. There are 4 Fords and 1 Dodge out of 11 cars in the country at this time roughly. The two Fords in this field had issues, one not even making round one. When has there even been equal representation from the manufacturers? Glidden was the only Ford many times. There was a time Dodge was completely out of pro stock - similar to today except Alan Prusiensky.
Two Fords were present. Sadly they both had issues. The one Dodge. You realize that there has almost always been more General Motors representation in doorcar classes in the modern eras (80s and up)? Corvettes are coming. Two Fords out there were not present.
Now how long does it take NHRA to screw this class up like they did with Pro Stock by allowing different types of body shape modifications and allowing certain brands to use parts that different they what they started with? The now pro jellybeans/stock class no longer holds the interest that did before they started remolding the original shapes of the cars namely the Camaro then dropped the rpm limit to stop Dodge from running. Then they come up with a “new” class with the factory made Cobra Jets, the COPO’s and the Drag Pac but NHRA couldn’t leave that alone and started allowing more boost for some brands or more weight or much less weight to race with, so they screwed that class up in record time. Now they have another factory race class and let’s see how they mess this up as well. No other class has had so much tinkering with the rules as Pro Stock, back when Bob Glidden, Warren Johnson, Jim Yates and Allen Johnson were racing their cars the body shape looked like a factory car with a big hood scoop and big slicks then the body mods started and they ended up with the jellybean cars today. Can’t wait for the new set of favoritisms to start with this class.
NHRA has already started to change the rules in this class. Ford and Mopar will soon be gone. This is why the NHRA is dying a slow death. It is a shame because if they would not have done things like, Ford and Mopar run one type of S/C, Chevy another. Then they put a rev limit on the ohc motor. And other things to slow up Ford and Mopar. When pro stock ran the 351 and 350's it was fun to watch. And even then, the Fords had to carry more weight. This class would have brought me back to the track. Instead, I will continue to go to Ford and Mopar shows only. Coming up on 20 years since I stopped going the NHRA CHEVY SHOW.
@@MondayMorningRacerGo to an event and see all the seats that used to be packed are now empty. There is no real care anymore people have found other sports to watch that are not so obviously biased towards the Chevy brand in Pro Stock or any of the factory hot rod cars.
Yeah, who do you think filmed this? I did. Let see, at Gulfport Dragway for my 20 plus event. Is every race packed, no. Are there those that are, yes. Gainesville this year for the NHRA national event - packed. The Word Series of Drag Racing at Cordova - packed. Funny Car Chaos at Mo-Kan Dragway - packed. Have I been to some that weren't, sure. Do people leave the stands when fuel cars are done at a NHRA national event, sure. Nitro steals the show nearly every time. This class as a whole had generated some excitement. It's going to be done with now after a branded cheating scandal.
Love this class. Some great action this past weekend
I think it checks off nearly all the boxes.

Bootifull stuff. Awesome ❤❤
Nice Racing class, thanks for sharing.👍👍
It is a cool class! I hope it continues to grow.
Great coverage awesome footage! Like seeing Pro stock back in the day!! This class is off the chain fr.🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏻👊🏻
I do feel that this combination making up the class that it does capture the essence of pro stock.
is this gonna be ruled into an all Camaro class too
Finally a place to legally run all those Dubyas! 😅
Rod Shop chevy?
Yes. Greg Stanfield explains his connection in his interview.
You sure this class isn’t ‘Factory Camaro’?

They have got to be making some serious power up top to be running 260 trap speeds. I wonder how conservative they are being out of the gate
260 wasn't an accurate speed as the announcer stated.
1st time GM did something right
Bring back Holley Carburetors!! They still make more power than EFI!! This is a corporate backed category.
Wasn't pro stock corporate backed in even 1970? Corporate backing has always had a connection to high-tier racing.
I love that this class was started as ball coddling ev.
@@KimiWallrus glad someone at NHRA piped up and said "hey, you know what, this is a better option."
looks like NHRA. Is trying to take a bit out of NPK, myself , I really like the no - prep small tire run on tracks Yello Belly & War In the Woods,
Why does everyone just default to running Camaros?
Vette class in 3, 2, 1....

😎
Modern Day pro stock at its Finest wish they would not run this class super late on the schedule like they do

Another Chevy Show. 🤔

A class for Camaros then...🤣

I'd like to see a c7 Corvette
@@MondayMorningRacer I think he's referring to the rule bias favoring Camaro's, just as in FSS.
@oscaracme where do you even get this from when has their ever been a situation like that didn't Bob Glidden win 10 Championships in a Ford?
@@dragracingmayhem3623 They are just making sure Ford wont win another championship.
And when ford starts winning, they'll change the rules. Another bs gm class

another super chevy event .. no one cares ,
Several thousand views and took the time to comment. There's care.
