  • Montmartre is full of secret hidden gems that most people don't see when they come to visit this important Parisian landmark. If you want to go off the beaten path and explore the most beautiful neighborhood of Paris, this is the video for you! Discover the artists, painters such as Picasso or Renoir who lived in this neighborhood and the best place to see the Sacré Coeur (Sacred Heart) of Montmartre. This hill is pretty steep but with this alternative way of visiting Montmartre you will discover the real village that makes so many people fall in love with this city and you will stay off the tourist traps. As a licenced tour guide I can assure you that you will never see Montmartre in the same way!

    Great video. Thanks for the tour! Maybe lower the volume of the music so your voice is clearer. Also, for those of us who are not proficient in French, can you please put the French names and terms in writing when you mention them? Thanks again

      Nice video. Montmartre is probably the nicest place on earth, especially for artistic and romantic people. One advice to all: Dig a bit deeper than macarons and food. This place has a magnificent history and was shaped by big poets, writers, musicians and painters. Also the street art reveals a lot of intelligent creativity.

    Thanks for your fascinating recommendations, presented in a charming style! You've chosen things I'd really love to see/eat for myself. Going to Paris for just 3 days, but will spend a day in Montmartre and hope to see most of the things you've pointed out. Merci!

    Love your videos! I will be in Paris in March with my 75 year old parents. They are very active, but 75 nonetheless. Do you recommend starting at Sacre Coeur then walking down through Montmartre? Or down up? Thank you!

    • @thehungryparisian
      @thehungryparisian  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Merci! Starting up and making your way down might be better because the hill is pretty steep... If you start at Sacré Coeur, make sure to go down using the side streets as this is where Montmartre is the nicest ☺

    I love your video so if I follow your video from moulin rouge down until the end to that church, how long will the walk take me. Going to visit there soon and I want to walk all through that places you showed❤️ will it take me 3 hours or more?😬 thank you and if you could list those places because it’s really hard to just listen so we can type it in the map as well, would really appreciate it❤️

      Hello, I actually made a video on the subject of restaurant etiquette if you are interested. But short answer would be yes as a lot of restaurants are quite small. :)

    The Moulin Rouge is not a hidden gem. It's a well-worn tourist has-been excuse for entertainment in the most seedy portion of Paris. If you like this type of entertainment, then go to the Lido on the Champs Èlysée or Paradis Latin in the 5th.
