Hi, I am also an international student from China, maybe thinking of applying schools to like UC Berkeley or USC. Just wanna as if the area is safe or good to go for graduate school.

UC Berkeley is about 7 hour drive away from USC so they are very different areas. I'd also recommend applying to UCLA if you want to stay in LA where USC is and also any of the other UC schools because they are all very good schools in good areas. UCs would also be a lot cheaper because they're public universities. ( idk about international students but as a Californian the difference is insane)
