I've been having intermittent "no crank" issues with my 2013 Ford Edge for 5 years - we bougt it new. For Christmas 2022, I got myself a MPC remote start kit. I had an issue programming it that i think revelaed the problem. To program the remote start you need both keys. First time I tried it did not want to take. But eventually I got the remote starter installed and it does work. Now whenever I put the key in and I get a no crank I will try the remote start and it works every time. That leads me to believe that the transponder in one of my keys is bad. It's probably the reason that it would took longer to program the remote start. And the fact that it starts reliably every time with the remote start even when the key will not it is an indicator to me that it is the transponder in the key fob.
I think you just solved my problem too, I’ve got a 2014 edge that did the same thing, it only came with an aftermarket key with no chip I put a new starter in it and nothing changed so I might just run a remote start cause a new programmed key I was told is $500
An auto parts (starter, alternator, etc.) rebuilder does far more than 'just fixes that one thing' as you put it. Don't know who blew smoke up your behind, BUT when received, they competely disassemble all of the component parts, the electrical parts, stator windings, rotors, brushes, etc. are separated, housings and other hardware are then chemically cleaned and media blasted if needed, the windings and rotors are also cleaned, values measured, and tested, rotors have commutators (part the brushes contact) cleaned and resurfaced, or rewound and new commutator installed, Same for stator windings, cleaned tested, new windings installed if needed, new bearings, and new solenoid, e If needed. They tend to fail if not PROPERLY repaired, or adjusted correctly on assembly. THIS IS DONE BY PEOPLE - that get paid more for volume - some can do it right, others, whose parts come back too many times get fired. Just like a new factory part, they can be 'dead out of the box' but less often as factory parts are under more watchful eyes to not lose their parts contracts. CHEAP, BAD rebuilders used by some parts suppliers cut corners- cheaper grades of wire, smaller wire, cheap bearings, etc. If you and friends get several bum rebuilt parts by same trade name- change your parts store- a Parts Store exec once told me he would NOT use his company's rebuilt parts - said they found the cheapest rebuilders then hounded them to further cut their costs, to the point their rebuilt parts were garbage.
.... I don't have time to listen to all this. If there's a point in there somewhere I missed it and I can't keep listening. We get it dude: your car isn't starting.

So what was it?
For people asking it was *The Starter* that was bad
what did you have to do to fix it ?
So the starter was the problem? I change my starter on my 2014 ford edge and still nothing! 🤒
Did u fix it?
@@Btotheain13I didn't fix it

WHat was the fix? I believe it would be the starter....But I would like to know.
My 2913 ford edge sel 3.5 v6 does a no crank no start off and on but when it wouldn’t start today I stuck it in neutral, and it started right away
