9:42 - yeah, this is what happens when you mix plugit cord tools with hard wired ones. why is ts60 hardwired in US btw?
Great video and helped me decide (finally) to get the TS 60. I sell Festool in my store in Winnipeg Canada and have recently fallen down the Festool rabbit hole and upgraded my home shop with a CT26 and ETC EC 150. Now I’ve sold my Kreg track saw to get the TS60. Here we go!
I just went through the motions of ts55 vs ts60, took my 55 back within the 30 days as the 60 was released and I’m glad I did it is absolutely worth the extra money. Little features like the flat motor housing for blade changes, the ability to take cheap, readily available 165mm blades for bulk ripping mdf or form ply all day, better depth adjustment and -1 degree adjustment, FSK rail compatibility, depth of cut and extra rpm. I rip a lot of thick hardwood doors at work and the 60 handles it with absolute ease, something I have struggled with all previous doors except the 75 but that saw is bulky. It’s an amazing saw, we have the plug it version in Australia though, that hard wired lead sucks though and will likely deter lots of people, having to wrap it up every time rather than just leaving a dedicated cord plugged in the vacuum to swap between tools is a hassle.
The TS60 seems like a nice upgrade from the TS55, but the hardwired cord is a big non-starter for me. I have plug-it cords connected on my dust extraction hoses, I don't know what Festool was thinking by not having this saw have a plug-it. All of my other corded Festool's have plug-it cords. Festool was supposed to be a system.
Noooooo really ?
The fact that the big planer doesn’t have the plug it does my head in already.
Wait for a 36v ts60
Finally, I been waiting to purchase the TS 60 since your previous episode.
Just ordered a new TS60. Can't wait to use it!
What about the new TSV 60 KEB-F-Plus?
Can you fit a dust bag on a TS60 ? Very entertaining and informative video. 👏👏👏
No HK series? Or are they not considered tracksaws?
why here in germany the ts 60 and the tsv 60 has a plug it cord, and in usa fixed. its much more convenient with plug it😉
@@bdm1000 interesting thanks, but why should they do. Festool invented the tracksaw/plungesaw?
There is also a hard-wired UK 110V version, I doubt if the Plug-It 110V version was ever intended to exist. It's pushing the Plug It connector I think.
230V is also more convenient than 120V. Half the voltage, double the current.
@@jcvjcvjcvjcv plausible, but there under 1600 watt. it must be possible, or maybe because of a corded brusschless motor? i dont know if any other tool brands use brusschless in a corded machine?
@@exigauner because that's what cartels do.
Will a TS 60 cut thru a 45 on a 2x?
The TS55 wont cut a 45 completely thru on a 2x6 so it’s useless for anything more than sheet goods
TS60 my wallet is being hypnotized and suddenly in the truck on GPS heading towards my local WoodCraft….. wait….. wallet your leaving me 😂😂😂😂
Hi Madam I missed two episodes. One I was abroad and the other due to time difference. But i watched the recordings for the missed episodes.
Don’t buy any of them. Wait for the 36v ts60
Hello Festool friends, Tom from Belgium
I watched your video today and noticed at the seven-minute and forty-second mark, you plugged a TS60 into your vacuum. My brand new Midi 1 says a maximum of 2 amps can be plugged into it. Your TS60 is running about 10 amps or more. The only sander I have that will plug into that port is a DeWalt 5-inch RO, which draws 2 amps. It sounds like this plug will be pretty useless to me for my Rotex 150 which draws more than 4 amps. I've never seen this in any TH-cam video where there is a 2-amp maximum. Other than this, I absolutely love the dust extractor. What should I do?
I wish I had a good answer for you but- whatever you do, research, find your local festool dealer if you can to talk to someone, call Festool and talk to them- but do it fast if you haven't exceeded the first 30 days of ownership so you can return it if you find its necessary. Otherwise, you may need to find someone who wants to buy it which should sell at a pretty close value to what you paid for it. I hadn't heard about the 2amp max limit but I don't have a midi. I do have a sysvac and I've only used it with my ets ec 150/3 and my cordless 125 but now I need to go research for when I use it to make sure I don't mess with that rating.
@@scyarch1136 Thanks very much for the information!
@@dougemerson No Problem. I just saw your post and figured someone better get back to you soon if they could and you're still in the 30 day money back period. I've called Festool before and they're usually very helpful when my dealer doesn't have a particular answer I might be looking for. I'm lucky my dealer has someone pretty knowledgeable but he's definitely of the age to retire whenever he wants, he may do it just for side money because he loves it; but I'll be glad for their hotline when he does retire.
Great question, did you ever get an answer from Festool? My local dealer mentioned this exact point to me. He said you can’t plug a ts60 into a midi coz of the max amp draw.
I like the TS55 because it has a riving knife, the tsc55 for site work, and the TS75 for big ripping. Won’t buy the fixed cord TS60.
Glad I switched to Mafell.
I have the mafell mt55 best tracksaw, but now the ts60 is better. It has much more Power with corded brushless 2 Times and its smaller and Cuts deeper. But maybe mafell bringst a new saw soon😉
And dust collection, is a bit better to on the new ts60.
@@exigauner very helpful. Txs for ur feedback.
i everyone, I'm awake now. Caldwell Idaho
Hi all.
Mafell.
Too many model codes to follow with actually seeing them side by side. You talk too fast and you constantly get between the tool and camera blocking our view. Sorry if I seem rude. Just trying to be honest. It’s very distracting hearing you breathing heavy into the microphone as you try to talk. Slow the whole thing down. I am a professional carpenter / superintendent and I struggle to follow you.
