This commentary lately is my jam. Glad to hear it and hope you keep it up. Seems less taxing and sounds like you're having more fun. It's tha bomb

One of the biggest game changers for me was switching to freehand style like this video shows. I tried using the leather leg/lap style but was very inaccurate and created hinges , no matter how I laid the rock on the pad.
As soon as I switched over to freehand style, I started getting much better results. That's only one piece of the puzzle, but was a big piece for me at least.

Took me 40 years to make points like you showing .. seems could not advance much . But watching you bout tile knapping and other material . Has advanced my work greatly . So just wanted to tell you I've advanced more in 6 months than first 40 years . What you doing here is bout as far as I could get . My points looked like ca ve man . Lol . But that indirect percussion with tools like ishi stuck has help me greatly . Thanks

Thank you for your time again!
I actually love my deer antler billits and have several of different density.
You definitely got some good hits in.

Learned a good deal from this.
    1. Explanation of speed over friction
    2. Following through even tho it broke.
    3. The accidental billet out of alignment from what was muscle memory.
    4. The smacking of the face to remove the incomplete fracture around 25:30
    5. Don't get in a rush and let your subconscious take over (definitely do that from time to time.)
    6. Always weigh your risk when it fights back.
Hopefully the feed back helps you in some way

That’s me I wanna know how they did it, with minimum tools or techniques. Just an interest of mine thank you for making this video. I don’t care if you use natural or not but it is neat to see natural tool knapping

@16:30 if you were "allowed" to use a indirect percussion tool, could you have removed the "concreted" area by flaking from the middle to the edge? I noticed you appeared to strike at it a little like that's what you wanted to do? I have been in a similar situation already so that's why I am asking 👍

    • @KnapperJackCrafty

Yeah, I might have tried to pop off those step fractures at the top of that stack.

Hey buddy, you must get alot of noise and crap from Some viewers, cause you worry about how u say things!! But to me we watch your channel, you time your effort and your learning also! I know it's well known that, ppl should ssshhhh and just watch n learn and not mouth about things they don't know about!! If they just would silence themself and watch what you do, they would get their answers!! I laugh out loud at you talking about these things to yourself!! Dont worry, dont stress, keep doing what your doing, cause I enjoy your vids and info greatly! So do alot of others! Thanks for what you do and Thanks for sharing!

I see a lot of noise and crap from people on forums. I'm a moderator on Primitive Archer, for example. I don't personally get much pushback for my statements or ideas unless I deliberately annoy people... which I have done on several occasions.😁

Aw. Ye olde how they used to do it back in the day. I got this one for you P.
Viewer: I have a romanticized view of the past and I want to know how it was done in the past? ❤❤💩
Response:They did it using the best tools they could get their hands on.
Viewer: Where for art thou metrics that thine tool's quality be measured by?
Response;:Hark! Thine ability to blast off flakes when desired, Pray too it doeth not require excessive maintenance, it be true that thine tool of most cave dweller's longing desire be tough and long lived. Be these all the case surely thine tool shall be most coveted by thy neighbors. That they bite their thumb at thee. If ancient man could have acquired a soft/ heavy metal flaker ( like a copper billet or this aluminum one) you can bet the farm that they would have taken full advantage of it. So watch and enjoy... or don't. Don't be so pretentious Judas
