LYRICS:
I spent my lifetime wishin' the waitress would come around
Tellin' jokes, shootin' pool on the other side of town
The whistle blows at five o'clock there's only one place I'll be found
Down at Ernie's icehouse liftin' longnecks to that good old country sound
And talkin' 'bout the good old times
Braggin' bout how it used to be
And I've worn out the same old lines
Now it seems nothing's news to me
There's nothin' like a steel guitar cryin' in the night
There's nothin' like a sawdust floor and a good old friendly fight
I'd finally find my way back home and you'd patch up my face
But that was another time and another place
Now we're talkin' 'bout the good old times
Braggin' bout how it used to be
I've worn out the same old lines
Now it seems nothing's news to me
I wonder how I came to be the know-it-all I am
And how the world ever got used to me
Talkin' 'bout the good old times
Braggin' bout how it used to be
But I've worn out the same old lines
Now it seems nothing's news to me

Clint Black, after 35 years, STILL has the cleanest vocal flip in the history of country music. GOAT
Damn straight. First time I listened to this I couldn't believe how nice he still sounded.
Thanks for keeping country music decent and classy. Need alot more like this.
@Jack that is racist af way too political aswell
My favorite Clint black song, now sung by my favorite modern day country singer 👌
Yes! Exactly on both county’s!!
They did a beautiful job here! I thought it sounded familiar but love this one as well as Clint! No disrespect Mr.Black
Clint Black is a legend in my mind and very underrated in country.
So apparently singing along and dancing in your chair at work are not really suitable according to my co-workers. Oh well...THWT. I'll do it again. GREAT song...love it.
Hello Sherry 👋 how are you ??
Jinks you are like nothing else in music why I am such a huge fan 38 years old listen to Clint for lots years great country music
Hearing Clint black back in country music makes me happy, it's good to hear him again
This has always been my favorite Clint Black song. So this last weekend we had the pleasure of seeing Ward Davis, Clint Black, and Cody Jinks at Red Rocks Amphitheater! I was so bummed when Clint didn’t sing this song during his set. To my amazement, these three came out together and absolutely nailed it!! It was my most definitely my favorite moment of the concert!!
I was there!! It was awesome!!!
I was there also. Cody and band I feel are better live than recorded.
When you first hear the instrumental start up my mind goes back to the 80s and 90s when real country was played. Anytime an artist covers a song you hope it will be honored to the best. This cover kills it with 2 of the best and one of the greats. We needed this.
Hell yeah well said
I remember when this was first released way back in 1989. Good job bringing it back around
Clint Black is the Best !!
Everything this guy does is amazing. I’m just thankful for his music!
Tell Clint and ward thank you for keep it real
Cody jinks hands down the best. There isn't anyone out there putting out REAL country music like Jinks does.
Yeah, Ward Davis.
I agree, have a listen to Creed Fisher though. Like Cody he’s old school country as well.
...... well actually there is. Jinks is one of many. Everyone has their own style but they're all keeping country music alive
@@AaronLongfellow I know him to but jinks is the big dog
@@AaronLongfellow hear him to but jinks is my go to
Cody it was an absolute pleasure seeing you play in providence please come back within driving distance.
This is country music thanks.
I totally agree with you 💯
@Jack what in the fondulac Wisconsin are you talking about dude
@@coleah69 he’s talkin bout the gold ol’ times, braggin about how it used to be.
Fuckin a
Remember when this song came out I was running over the road tractor trailer driving I heard it in a truck stop and really loved the song this is a fine remake of a true Clint Black country classic thanks Clint Cody and Ward for keeping it country love this version and love the original version as well take care.
Almost as good as the original…. Costco’s just singing, but when Clint Black sings you feel it deep in your heat.
I may have posted this before but the first time I heard this fine True country Clint Black song I was running over the road tractor trailer driving was in a truck stop when I heard it I fell in love with the song right there and then I hope this is a sign that real true country music is coming back of course no disrespect to today's country music thanks Cody Clint and Ward for keeping it country take care.

Doesnt know how to write a bad song.. also great job Clint and Ward!.......

So many memories when this one starts up. Thank you, Cody, for doing my favorite Clint Black song the justice it deserves
Just as I listen to Hank cash Merle and the rest of the old country outlaws, this is the music my son will be listening to my age. Thanks Cody!
Awesome good Ol country song , your music is so good 🎼🎶🎼💯❣️❣️❣️ great Singers💯💯🎼🎶🎼
When I heard the start of this song, it sounded like Randy Travis. Great job guys.
I love Wade, but that second verse was perfect for Church, especially leading into Clint🤷🏼♂️
That would be "Ward"....JS 🤷🏻♂️, lol. Sure it's just a typo
Keeps pumping out hit after hit after hit. Whether it’s a classic or original, it reaches a new upper echelon when you come across it
The Best in County Music today, Cody Jinks, Clint Black, & Ward Davis. Sing it, play it❤️🎶🎵
Jinks is the man.
Hotrod kicked ass on steel.
best singer and songwriter in COUNTRY today.
Great Song. You have brought real Country Music Back. Can't wait for you to come back to Utah.
Can't wait to see you in Vegas Dec 3rd. Taking my Wife and Son, Son will be turning 18 on Dec 2nd and I got him to love your music. HANDS DOWN MY #1 COUNTRY SINGER. Sooo under rated. Keep up the great work. 👍
Holy shit!!!!!!! Sorry Clint sorry Ward love you both but I love me some Cody.
No voice can harmonize with the steel guitar like Clint’s. Three of my favorite people in one place.
If there was more music like this on country radio I probably still be listening to country radio. 58 years old grew up on country music 60s 70s some of the '80s but I had to leave country radio about 4 or 5 years ago cuz I didn't get it anymore with all that rap crap in it and everything else Mr Cody Jinks thank you for keeping it real. I love you brother keep it up.
Agree with you. I too had to give up on new country about the same time. I'm 56 and grew up on it as well. This is a good cover. Not familiar with Cody or Ward but may have to take a listen. Was a big Clint Black fan back in the 90's.
@@brianh8392 seriously give Cody Jinks a listen. He he awesome.
