    Hey John - what about a headlight tutorial? My daytime running light only works half the time (when bars are straight or pointing left). They turn off when pointed right. Onyx is blowing me off and is not helping me

    Hey john, if I mount the kelly controller outside my bike, what kind of extenders do I need to make the cables long enough? Do you have a link? Thanks in advance

    • @JohnAngelnyc
      @JohnAngelnyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monday I will post on my blog the links to the cable you’ll need to extend the positive and negative wire of the Kelly controller. You’ll need to extend those two cables by 5 inches to reach the terminals. My blog is johnangel.nyc and the blog post is “Onyx RCR Links”.

      It’s a Class 3 ebike in New York State and New York City. I don’t know how Nassau County or Suffolk County treats the Onyx RCR. It is at their discretion to classify it as they see fit. I would hire an attorney for a solid answer. I believe there are a few guys in Nassau County with the Onyx RCR and I have not heard of any problems. You’re welcome to learn more about the state bill, and federal laws by finding that information on my blog post johnangel.nyc/posts/onyx-rcr-start-here/

    Hello, great info. Wondering if you can help me. I just got the 41Ah battery and now the bike constantly loses power almost in every ride. I can only consistently ride it on sports mode where I've noticed the bike does not go limp. Not a heat issue cause this happens as soon as in take it out the house even from a normal temperature. I've contacted onyx and told me to switch some cables to "hard reset" the bike but still the issue persists. What could it be? I'm at the verge of asking for a refund. I've put the old 23Ah battery back on and had zero issues.
    Thank you

    Hello John, I just did the sicko mode upgrade and I blew a fuse almost instantly at 80%
    What did I do wrong?

    • @JohnAngelnyc
      @JohnAngelnyc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Sicko mode blog post mentions removing the fuse completely. As in replace the entire battery connector cable from the stock 8 awg wire and SB50 connector to 6 awg copper stranded wire and QS8 connector. Alvin at DATSHOP has the the complete kit instagram.com/datshopnyc

    • @JohnAngelnyc

      I used “6 AWG oxygen free copper cable” to extend the positive and negative leads from the controller by 3 inches each.

    Hey John, what causes the Limp Mode to trigger on a stock onyx? Is it after ir hits a specific temp?

    • @JohnAngelnyc
      @JohnAngelnyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct. As it begins to overheat, it will protect itself and lower its power output.
