During this period i worked for a concert promoter who had offices at the capital center. WWF events regularly drew 4-5,000. The Bruno/Larry fued sold out on two different months.
Incredible segment. Bruno has a complete look of contempt for his former apprentice and Larry can't look Bruno in the eye because he knows he has unleashed a side of his mentor that he has never seen. It's stuff like this that modern wrestling is missing.
this is like a master class on hero and villain in pro wrestling. the hero determined hurt by the villain. the villain indignant with a skewed and deceiving perception of reality. can't do this anymore lol
Bruno looked so mad, I'm surprised his toupee didn't do a 360 flip on his head. Bruno has the distinction of having his nose classified as a foreign object.
bruno didn't keep his promise, he didn't run off zbyszko, it was bruno who was run off. and zbyszko hung around wrestling full time with a series against backlund into the winter, before going on a tour of japan
This was similar to the signing between Sammartino and Morales before the first ever Showdown at Shea in 1972, except for no post-signing comments from the participants.
How the great Sammartino kept his composure during this important contract signing I’ll never know. This man Zbyszko was the lowest of the low. JUDAS !!!!! 😤😤😤😤
Ultimately Larry "retired" Bruno, goes to Georgia and Dusty,Hansen, the Andersons,Dick Slater, etc. run away, he goes to the AWA and retired Bockwinkel and BOTH Gagnes, goes to WCW and what happened to the Road Warriors,Rock 'N Roll Express,4 Horsemen ( besides Flair who ran away later). The Dangerous Alliance was NOTHING without him. Ran the future Triple H out of there and retired on top. Larry the Legend.
@@kennethperry3641 Yep, I was watching it as well on Channel 45. Then Channel 54 in Baltimore brought in Southwest Championship Wrestling & GCW...fun memories 👍
bruno knew he was getting older and he also knew by 1980 larry had surpassed him in the ring. while bruno was a man of integrity every man is capable of doing anything when desperate so it wouldnt shock me if bruno did pay off the refs like larry said
Yeah, he’s stated that he needed to carry a pistol around with him. Park his car in the back of the building, etc. he said once he came out and his car was overturned 😂

I went to the first match of this feud, completely sold out, tremendous match the crowd was so loud it was almost as if it was silent, incredible!!!

You hit the nail on the head!!
The glory days of professional wrestling!!
Was there the night Larry turned. Great stuff
This was Pro Wrestling as Pro Wrestling can get Burno look PISSED and RIGHTFULLY SO and Zbysko did a great job of bringing this intensity out of him
This match at the Capital Centre was about a week after the Bruno vs, Zbyszko cage match at Shea Stadium.
Growing up in Mass at this time peiod I never saw this before. Ty for sharing .
Very rare to see phil zacko on camera, very cool to see
I remember when Zbysko turned. Everybody was shocked and couldn’t believe it.
Both deserved honorary Oscars.
Bruno deadly serious
I was at this match. It was the first time Capital Centre sold out for wrestling!
I was there .myself miss the capital center
Prior to this match, the Capital Centre ran WWF on Monday nights, drawing between 4-5,000.
@Ken-uo7iw no, they absolutely did not.
WDCA 20, Saturday mornings, 11am
I always remember cap centre cards being Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, but I started going in 1980
That mustard colored blazer was far more electric than the silent stares from Bruno and Larry.
Amazing clip! When you see these contract signings on WWE TV today, they can all be traced back to this!
there were ones before i'm sure
@@grawakendream8980This is the earliest one I’ve ever seen in the history of this promotion
The infamous lumberjack match
I saw one live in the 70s Bruno vs Stan Hansen at the Spectrum in Philadelphia
WOW! Bruno looked like he wanted to KILL Zbyszko!
Doesn't it look like it. That's a scary look no joke Bruno gave Larry
@@scottcassulis6062Pure intensity

they don't know how to spark the conflict or run with it anymore

😂😂😂 great jokes
Phil Zacko was the promoter of the Philadelphia wrestling area...
Many years before they did this with Bruno and Killer Kowalski.........Phil promoted Philadelphia.........also.....
Bruno kicked his ass that night
5/26/24
Bruno looked like the Ultimate Warrior with that intensity
bruno didn't keep his promise, he didn't run off zbyszko, it was bruno who was run off. and zbyszko hung around wrestling full time with a series against backlund into the winter, before going on a tour of japan
they met for three more matches in this series, including one 10 days later at allentown fairgrounds
Why did they take their shirts off just to sign a contract?
YES!!! Very good question on that one????
I thought that Larry would pearl harbor Bruno from behind right after they both signed the contract???!!!!
Why the question marks, Junior? Are you unsure of yourself?
How would I watch this? This wasn’t WWF obviously right?
"Took a powder" lol inside term slipped
Larry almost resembles Jim Belushi
Larry looks like Bill Murray
This was similar to the signing between Sammartino and Morales before the first ever Showdown at Shea in 1972, except for no post-signing comments from the participants.
good old days.😊
So apparently there was a signing between two pro wrestlers even earlier than this one in the entire history of this promotion.

Larry Zybysko don’t need no bars to be held! 😆😅😂🤣
Is this lumberjack match on TH-cam?
The good oldish days 😮
“This monster that I created…”
Stick that in your pen and sign it - classic !!
Is Larry Bill Murrays brother haha
He must have drank too much cough syrup that morning.

Sounds like him too.
Bruno probably was in the best shape of his life at the time, that is why he needed those lumberjacks out of the ring I suppose.
Bruno was far from his best shape. Ever since his broken neck he had to cut back significantly
He was in his best shape 10-20 years prior
Hogan had a similar look with Andre.
I remember this!!! Every Saturday morning at 11:00...followed Ernest Angley🙄
I remember watching him. My mom would get mad over my hand prints on the TV screen. ✋️
I do as well. Channel 20 WDCA, then we started to pick up WBFF Chanel 45 at 4:00 on Saturday. I was so happy 2 hours wresting per week. LOL😂

This is SO Hilarious
Both Bruno Sammartino and Larry Zybsko is no looking at each other
But at The Camera 📸 Only to.
Talk Directly to You The Fans
They did a steel cage match during the summer at Shea Stadium. It was pretty much the precursor to Wrestlemania. Huge card in front of around 40K.
deniro vs pesci

Look at Vinnie Mac 😂 before taking over
Bruno with his wig 😂
Awesome feud.
Too bad larry left the wwf too soon.
In never to return 😂😂😂😂 over money
All contract signings should be done without shirts.
Larry looks quite uneasy sitting across from the legend Bruno Sammartino.
'Doggone it Vince!'
That wig is ridiculous.
Wwe needs to bring back the vice president 😂
Bruno is the judas here.
No wonder hogan became so popular. Both were awful promos. Bruno with his fair hair too.
Larry needed police protection during this fued
Feud, Junior.
Yeah, he’s stated that he needed to carry a pistol around with him. Park his car in the back of the building, etc. he said once he came out and his car was overturned 😂
They also wrestled at Shea Stadium in a cage
