Doc! Thanks for playing my favorite carol! Mr. Phil did a great job with the arrangement. You brought it to life! Love the croc planters! A blessed Advent and Christmas to you! ❤❤❤❤❤
I used to grow hops on my front porch - screened in by a wall of vines during the summer! I somehow got two harvests of cones. I moved though, and don't have a nice porch anymore...
I'd send you a Santa Hat, but I'm a little late to the party today, and I'm sure you probably have several on the way to your PO Box already! And while everyone needs a Santa Hat, no one needs 10. (If you don't get one, let me know) Christmas music sounds great on banjo, and in bluegrass style. Love this one...
Sierra Ferrel and Billy Strings both use those old condenser microphones that you used in the school performance; I love the sound and the choreography of the players and singers
I'm guessing the feather in your hat is off the chicken. If not it is quite the coincidence. Thank you for making my Friday fretless, love the jacket also. ❤❤❤
As a person with no style sense your kinda making me want to get like a indiana jones esque get up. Idk if i have the personality to pull it off tho. Great video👍 also the croc plants rule
It is fun to watch your expression when you slide up and it's not what you exactly wanted. But gosh it gives the tune that Chinese Flair, which if you've played as long as I (I have old guy player poker face), well... it works into the song just fine! I thought the banjo came through really well. We had a bluegrass band back in the 80's of four of us church brothers. It was "The Uncalled Four" and a riot for a few years... just the one mike ever, and the banjo really came through clearest. My J-45 Gibson was the quiet one. Merry Christmas!!!
Please, what's the clues on the banjo? Is it home made? We can make like that? They don't have to be like leather stretched over something like a drum? Because that one sounds fine to me.
About the microphone at the concert: A great bluegrass band, making music for over thirty years, is Southern Rail, based in New England. Jim Muller (pronounced 'mewler'), a Virginian, is the main singer and plays the guitar. He also is a staff-writer for _Bluegrass Now Magazine_ (of Missouri), where his regular feature is "Plugged In", about amplification for concerts. I discovered Southern Rail nine years ago, at a concert in an outdoor venue that one would think would be hard to make work-and they sounded great, and years later Jim even praised the sound of my cell-phone recording made at the concert . . . both of which I take as testament to the quality of his knowledge and technique in setting up the microphones and speakers. (That other groups' concerts in that setting haven't sounded as good may be more evidence of the same.) Apparently his articles on the subject get plenty of attention in other countries, too, so maybe some of your fellows in music-making would like to check them out.
Your prop department has let you down. I will speak to them. I know a guy who made hats for the real St. Nicholas. Also... Make the band get you a wooden tub, like a metal washtub, but a sturdy wooden one. Build a sturdy frame inside it, and mount some pressure sensitive wheels on it, upside down, like in those little rolly steps in the library -- it rolls to move it around, but if you stand on it the body sinks down so you are standing firmly. Then make the band let you have height parity! The washtub should be big enough so that you can shuffle around a bit for comfort.
Thank you dear Phoebe. "Angeline the Baker" and "Hark the Herald" go well together. Now go and study for your school finals and upcoming church concert. Otherwise you might end up being a fretless poverty stricken chicken entertaining street banjo player with worn-out Crocs shoe souls. Hee hee. ❤🪕
I love a chicken that loves music. They are to be treasured.
Very nice Miss Phoebe, thanks to Phil for a great arrangement,❤😊
Great hat, good feather, nifty tunes, festive vibes, funny Crocs garden. Thanx as always, Martin London UK

Love your stuff, great talent!
When it all week for this fretless Friday and I was not disappointed. Thank you so much.❤️
Dear Phoebe, you did great. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas. RB
The old catio becomes a garden. Nice playing. Always amazes me how easily melodies adapt to the banjo. Merry Christmas!
I'd send you a Santa Hat, but I'm a little late to the party today, and I'm sure you probably have several on the way to your PO Box already! And while everyone needs a Santa Hat, no one needs 10.

Christmas music sounds great on banjo, and in bluegrass style.

Great! In my mind, I sang along with "Hark The Herald Angels Sing"!

Have you seen the "practice" flowchart? It has nodes such as "Are you awake?" -> "practice."
😀
Angeline the Baker is such an important folk/Americana song.
Happy Friday, Phoebe!
Yo! Saw you play a Christmas Concert last Sunday!
Huge fan of yours now!

You'll see one in a while, but you'll see the other later.
