Woow the hospitality of people in Arabic countries is absolutely incredible! The city is really vibrant! I'm in Japan so it's so far away, but I hope I can visit Iraq in the near future :) Thank you for sharing this!
I am a Serb I live in Australia I have a lot of friends here from Iraq wonderful people of our country have suffered a lot so I sympathize with them 🇷🇸 🇦🇺 ❤ 🇸🇾. in 6th grade in Serbia we learned about Iraq about the first civilization and about the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. By the way great video love it 👍👏.
I had no idea Iraq was so fascinating but then again the media never shows its beautiful cultural treasures. That mosque is indeed very ornate and intricate. Saddam`s deserted palace was fascinating too, I can just imagine what it must have looked like at the height of his power, and now it's an eery shell but very interesting. The food looks so colourful and delicious too. The people seem warm, happy and welcoming. Safe travels! Daniel from South Africa
I am from Uzbekistan, love to see iraqi brothers have finished with the wars and currently live in peace. Thank u Jason for taking videos and sharing them. Hope our Asian brothers and sisters will be good day by day. Love to see their culture, cause it has many similarities with ours. Dispite of fatty food Iraqis are very slim. Very glad watching your vids
Cities in Iraq are divided into two parts, a popular part of which is cheap popular restaurants and large shops that sell wholesale in these areas you do not find many women in them there are usually no houses here only shops this is the heart of old Baghdad and on the other side where family restaurants and shops selling single things are full of women, usually people go out streets in the afternoon or after sunset
In popular restaurants there are not many women because most of these restaurants are in the workplaces of men, and in medium and high-end restaurants the girl has two options, the first is to go to the families section of the restaurant, and the second is to stay in the regular section
Al Rashid street looks chaotic and no order , I wish you had visited Iraq in the eighties , it was so prospers and organized despite the war . but looks safe and the Iraqi people looks relaxed , Iraqi people are genuine , kind , hospitable and generous , have a great time . Best Regards from Iraqi guy live in London UK
The western media must be quite upset with you for portraying the Iraqis as normal people with families.. People who love to go out for meals and sheesha gatherings. People who love to shop and drink tea... Thank you for sharing, for the world needs to know how resilient the Iraqis are. How welcoming and hospitable their culture is.
It is very fascinating indeed. Just make sure you have a good local guide/friend with you and you’ll be safe and make the most of the visit. I’ve been in Baghdad two times and it was really nice!🤗

Hi Jason ... I would love to visit Baghdad and Iraq. There is so much mystery and fear about the country and your visit and video helps to dispel some of those fears. Very enlightening! The people seem warm and friendly. I loved seeing the festival with the music playing and the positive messages. Wonderful.
Looks like a fascinating city, I imagine you would need more than a week to really take it all in. I had recently seen a British Pathe video of Baghdad in the 50s, you can see how refined and near to paradise it was back then. Greetings from Cambs.
Thankfully my trip extended to 13 days to give me some extra time. But you’re right, Baghdad was a very sophisticated place during that era. Much more liberal than it is today.
That BREAD!!!🙌....I respect how you mingle with the people of the places that you visit and show the normal business of the day. Those are also the travel writers I like best. Everyone wants to see the famous sites a place is known for but I also love to get a feel for the culture and people and you successfully and consistently do that for us!!!🎯....looking forward to the other places you named...👍
Thanks for showcasing Iraq & its rich cultural heritage. The people of Iraq r very resilient despite so much trial & tribulation they faced. A holy place where the house hold of holy Prophet p.b.h rest in eternal peace. 👌👌

The city was founded in 762 as the capital of the Abbasid dynasty of caliphs, and for the next 500 years it was the most significant cultural centre of Arab and Islamic civilization and one of the greatest cities of the world.
Your stories on insta really drove me back to your videos, and I must say, amazing as always, Jason. I really like how you show the hustle and bustle of daily life in your travels- it gives it a really nice, authentic charm.
It's awesome to watch your videos. I left Iraq when I was 5 years old through Iran, to Greece, then to the US state of Georgia by 1987. It wouldn't be safe for me to return given my ethnic and religious heritage but perhaps one day when it becomes safe again for my people.
Just been watching a few of your video on Iraq. Just fascinating I love the culture and traditions and just seeing normal life in what was such a troubled place. Peace and best wishes.
