      I really appreciate that. Yes…the only downside is that it will shorten the life of the cable. I think it’s smooth as it is and dry silicone spray on the guide rods makes it even smoother.

    There is a guy selling the stand alone powertec lat pulldown with the weight stack for 1k in my area. I was going to pick it up but I decided to order the one from titan fitness with the 300lb stacks

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

      That is certainly one of Titan’s best pieces.

    How easy/convenient is it to take off the top portion of the cable machine and add the weight stack to it?
    I own a 2014 model Powertec lat machine and I'm just now gonna add the stack to it for convenient's sake and to spare me using up more 45s (will free up more for my leg press). The content and your advice/quick replies have been helpful, I've subscribed to your channel.

      Thanks so much. I don’t think it’s too bad. If you’re relatively handy, I don’t see why it would take more than 2 hours. 1 hour if you’re really good at assembling equipment.

    I just asked this question on one of your other videos but I’ll ask on here too. I just bought this Machine and they are telling me the utility bench will solve my issues but from the looks of this video you are NOT getting into the correct position to flat bench because of the prongs on the knee pads. I’m 5’8 not a tall guy. Is this a design flaw or is there a way around it if I buy the powertec workbench ?

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct. The prongs do get in the way on flat press. I shared this feedback with Powertec a couple years ago. I can’t remember if the bench fits, but try turning it the other way and facing in for flat press.

    Would it be difficult to do lat pull downs with a general bench pushed in? I fancy the lat tower but I have a different bench and I’m not sure if there could be a height issue as the rollers seems relatively fixed in terms of their height?

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I used this lat pulldown attachment and my old red bench for years. The only issue with getting a full range of motion is using an attachment that hangs low. A standard lat bar, mag grips, etc., should be good.

    So I have the space for the Lat Tower, but I already own the Lever Gym. Other than saving time reconfiguring and loading/unloading plates on the LG, would I gain anything by adding the Lat Tower to my setup?

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much. The Levergym has about a 2:1 ratio with a 300 pound weight capacity. The Lat Tower is 1:1 with a 500 pound weight capacity.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

      It all depends on what attachment you are using (ie how low it hangs from the pulley). Also, when the bench is placed in the decline position rather than the flat position, that will give you a greater ROM.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this Lat Tower can be added to the Power Rack, Half Rack, and Roller Smith. There are no band pegs, but hopefully they will be included in future editions. The entire stack is 200 pounds and you can add plates on the horns for a max weight of 500 pounds. It is a 1:1 pulley ratio.

      Some companies offer assembly and sometimes if you order products through a 3rd party seller they will assemble it at a pretty hefty fee. The only piece of equipment I have that challenged me is the Streamline Functional Trainer. I don’t think most machines are too difficult if you have a good socket set and wrench set.
