Thank you for being brave enough to point out the aesthetic factor of our beloved case pocket jewelry. Just today I was ogling my case sod buster jr, .. in charcoal black delrin with the brass pins and liners, it really is a striking looker.
I like my case knives. I picked up six Bear & Sons Farmhand knives for $12 each vs the Case version. Both made in USA. I have more Case knives but Bear & Sons are now on my radar.
I have more case knives than any other brand. 85% that I get are really good. The rest have flaws and I just exchange for another one and have not had a problem. Good video here.
I have quite a few Bear & Son knives and many of them are quite good. But I'm 100% with you. Case is just flat out the better value and a better made knife. It seems like Bear & Son is suddenly the new cool knife. My 10+ years of experience with B&S has been very inconsistent. Some are really nice and some are absolute dogs. And anyone who thinks B&S has better stag or Bone is just lying to themselves. Case has the best bone in the knife industry. It's even better than GEC. BTW, I almost stopped watching when you chose the Para2 and Para 3 over the Dragonfly for EDC. I have been carrying the Dargonfly for over 3 years. LOL. Great Video.
I respect your opinion, I have more Case knives than anything else. Had them since I was ten, love em. But I also like my Bear & Son knives. Ain't got no modern knives, no flippers, just not my jam. Enjoyed the video John, keep them coming.👍👍
I’m a Big Fan of the CASE XX slip joint knives.I don’t like the so called Modern pocket knives.I don’t want or need a fast opening one handed pocket knife.I currently have around 105 pocket knives and I have a few that are the modern style because my little step brother gave them to me.All of them were made in China except one and I never carry any of them because I just don’t like them at all.My Favorite knife is a 2023 full sized Trapper in a Beautiful RED Bone pocket worn. RED is my favorite color and it’s very well put together with great blade alignment and no gaps or proud pins.I also daily carry a Large Camillus that is from around 1994 and a Battle Axe Conqueror in the beautiful RED Bone as well and a Victoriianox SD Classic on my key ring.I carry at least 3 knives every day and sometimes 4 because I can. They are not for personal protection because my Loud Barking and Biting friend in my front pocket takes care of that if needed. There is one so called knife channel that does nothing but Cry like a little Baby all of the time about the New CASE XX knives. Reminds me of a spoiled little brat and they think that their opinion is the only one that matters. He has become a total A-hole over his obsession with the subject.I stopped watching him completely because I don’t like Cry Babies. Thanks for keeping things Positive and God Bless.👍👏❤️🇺🇸
Case has hands down the most attractive handle finishes on the market today. I just wish that they would improve on their QC so that you didn't have to send so many back when you buy a new one. They have the best jigging and bone dying which makes them so desirable to me but the consistent quality just isn't there unfortunately, hopefully that improves over time.
Case puts out some nice collections. That’s what happens when the company has been around for a long time. Those knives like Spyder Co are nice knives but overpriced IMO.
Hi John, I rewatched your video of the old beater knife, and I am certain Coly had won it. Hopefully, for him, he will get back to you soon. Really enjoy your videos. Take care, John
I check out many channels on TH-cam, lately on classic slipjoint knives and I always read viewers’ comments too. There is a LOT OF criticisms Case knives, poor quality and especially issues which Quality Control should have caught but didn’t. Several people have expressed they will no longer buy Case knives. What’s going on, Case..???
Trying to keep knives in the $50 range and American made is almost impossible, either enjoy the low price and know you’ll have to sort through them to get a good one or expect case to raise the prices to be able to hand finish the knife
I just this week received 4 knives, SMKW-Exclusive CASE knives. All 4 are messed up. All 4 are/were filthy from the factory. Gunked up with polishing rogue. So much so that both the Stockmen knives will not open or close correctly. All 4 knives had "Burr" left on the blades, CASE didnt even try to strop them. Both the stockmen knives have blade rub. 1 of the shields on the Trappers fell off in the box. 1 of the knives isnt even the right color, supposed to be Jelley purple, mine is sky blue. Its all about the Quality Control, and right now, CASE has none. They lost people during COVID and now, Post-COVID, they are playing hell to catch back up with training new people to do jobs. In my package, SMKW sent me a freebie, a ROUGH RYDER trapper. That knife is 100% out of the box. Ready to go. No issues. NOT the CASE knives.

I do understand your point, but please think about this. Most quality control issues are fixable by the end user with about 20 minutes of elbow grease. See my videos on how. After fixed, the Case is a much nicer and more valuable knife. So we can except them for what they are and keep getting them for in the $60 range or make them do better quality control and drive the price up to into the $100 range. And that would still be cheaper than some of the other brands. So…if you think about it. Might be best to except them the way the are and fix them or send in for warranty work because I know how cheap you got those P&Js for.
@@JohnKlahr I will respond to your comment. "but please think about this. Most quality control issues are fixable by the end user with about 20 minutes of elbow grease. " response: I just spent nearly $100 per knife on 4 knives....why do I need to spend 20 minutes fixing their work? Rough Ryder knives, I dont fix. They come in a nicer box, they cost sometimes 10% of a CASE, and they are better finished. I still stand by the comment, that CASE QC is poorly lacking. As to CASE warranty work. It is crap. I sent in a Barlow knife...MONTHS ago, and the email response I got to my inquiry as to when it will be done is..."More than 4-6 weeks more than what we initially expected"..... That is crap. That means they will have had my knife for close to 5 -6 months. That is BS. The idea that you buy a finished knife from a company at full price, only to spend more time cleaning it and fixing it to where it should have been in the first place....that is unacceptable. If CASE cant perform to the level they did 3 years ago, then we shouldnt be paying what we paid for their knives, 3 years ago. They should be selling at the $20-40 mark. CASE is living off their past fame and the good work done years ago. This will not last long.
He’s a Crybaby and he thinks he’s Perfect and his opinion is useless. He’s obsessed with this subject and he’s showing his lack of maturity with his rants about the New CASE XX knives.😂
Not a fan of spyderko , they have too much hype. Especially for S/D ,where one guy is a huge shill for them. Excluding other good,or better blades annoys me.
Well sucks to be annoyed. ZT, Buck, Benchmade, and Protech are the major USA knife manufacturers and are all represented, and of course the video was not a head to head showdown type of video , but rather an explanatory style opinion piece showcasing Case Knives value, Sorry to annoy you

I’m with you on case John, they put out some amazing knives. Thanks for the video!
Your welcome, I hope you enjoyed it. I needed to get those thoughts out there after the heat I got over my recent reviews.
You can't offend anybody for telling the truth and I totally agree thumbs up keep it going really enjoyed the content
Thank you, I have some really cool stuff coming this week
Very cool!
Great video! Beautiful knife collection brother!
Thank you, hopefully it will go over well

Thank you , fixing the minor flaws and putting a mirror polish edge on them is part of the enjoyment for me, thanks for checking out the vid

Dragon fly is on of my favorites, could you imagine if they put a compression lock in it
Awesome video brother
Thank you Jason

Spyderco used to be the great value for high end knife steel, but their prices have gone way up lately
Good video! By the way, I received your blade oil recently, and I like it a lot. I will be ordering more when I run out. Thanks, John
Don’t forget to claim your knife package!
@@JohnKlahr What do you mean?

I’ll have to double check, still got them sitting there
