    Just ordered both of these! I really would love to know the real reason Subaru designed the crankshaft offset like it was. If they wanted it straight it would have been straight, so I wonder what we're potentially sacrificing here. Like the plastic pitch stop that everyone upgrades- the plastic had functionality so that in an accident the engine could "slide down" instead of straight back into the cabin.

      We dont have a definitive answer, im sure Subaru does😂 but... our best guess is it was a required saftey measure to pass standards.

      It's for crash safety. In the event of an accident, the two piece drive shaft is designed to bend down and away from the passengers/drivers. Same thing for the plastic pitch stop. In an accident, the pitch stop mount is designed to push the engine down away from the driver or break in the event of a bad crash

      @ Thankya. Unlike the other carrier upgrade which replaces this with full metal encasement, I think this one which sandwiches in two horse shoes- should still allow that safety feature to work right? It's not often that you see horror stories or posts on the internet about driveshafts penetrating the cabin... In fact, I've never heard of that that happen before.

      sweeeet! did you install both the lockdown and carrier bushings?

      @PERRINPerformance I already had the carrier bushings ( preveously done, another brand product, aluminium one's) did not feel any change... but whit the lockdown added. ... i love the subtle NVH it's addidng and the directness of the connection you feel trough acceleration.

    Pre install issue:clunking from ds center support during transition from acceleration to deceleration and the inverse. Vibration comes on at 30mph and becomes harmonic at about 45. Something is certainly wrong.

      I wanna make sure I understand exactly what’s going on. So just to clarify, this is an issue that is/was happening before you installed the driveshaft lockdown?

      Also, what year and model do you have? Also the mileage would be helpful.

    will these parts put tohether allow fow more horsepower to the ground? if so then how much?

    • @PERRINPerformance
      @PERRINPerformance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The large benefit to these especially together, is they will give you a better drive feel. You will feel more of the road beneath you and how your car is reacting to it. These parts fall under the same category as a transmission mount or our engine mounts. The added stiffness of these parts and those alike aid in connecting the car and the road to the driver.

      @@PERRINPerformance ok. Sounds good. I already have transmission,engine mount and pitch stop. I like that feel

    Have you guys had anyone complain about drive shaft vibrations prior to install? I have a 22 with 30k miles and im having some pretty intense vibration at various speeds. Its not the wheels everything is balance, too early for it to really be ball joints or bearing. Which leads me to believe its drive shaft vibrations

    • @PERRINPerformance
      @PERRINPerformance  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is not something we have heard of on these cars. I would double check that the pitch stop mount is tightened or not broken, as that can do some weird things if its loose. If that is tight, then it could be drivetrain related and this might help. If you can check the pitch stop get back to us and we can work out a deal to see if our parts fix the problem.

    Installed the driveshaft lockdown & carrier bushings last night on my 2023 WRX. Just went for a drive to make sure everything was good. I’m getting a slight odor of burning rubber. Is that normal?

      @@KuyaPow626 No changes or adjustments made. Been driving for a week now and no issues at all. Thinking maybe since it was new install it had a short break in period or something. Hopefully no carrier bearing pre-mature failures down the road…

      Glad to hear that the smell went away. As far as the root caute of the smell id imagine some gunk fell on the exauhst when you poped out the old carrier bushings. Even if the carrier bearing was not lined up perfectly you wouldnt hace any rubbing or grinding issues, so thats my best guess.
