    The Daiquiri is a very old cocktail. It was created shortly after the Spanish-American War by an American mining engineer, whose mining operation was near the small town of Daiquiri, Cuba. It was also my grandmother's favorite summer cocktail

      @joshrose843 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      That’s the “story” but he probably just stole what the locals were doing and told everyone he created it. It’s the American way haha

      @@joshrose843 lmao as a Cuban it might be because it wasn’t really popular in the US until it was introduced there from Cuba and the word “daiquiri” is indo Cuban taino word but even if it was invented by him it’s still Cuban it was made there and became popular there

    England sailor came to know about disease scurvy due to vit c deficiency but no one had knowledge so one scientist made statement of eating lemon and oranges
    So sailor use to drink lemon juice but the question came that u can not store them for long period as they spoil so sailor preserved the drink by adding rum sugar and water

    Too much sugar to my taste, but that’s personal.
    I woud say 60/30/somewhat less then 15 (and even then the sweetness is more than enough.)

    • @StevetheBartender_

      There’s definitely a lot of variation in recipes - best to grab yourself a few classic cocktail books and read up... if you only grab one book then Gary Regan’s Joy of Mixology is great and features a lot of modern classic recipes (amzn.to/2JFQ1Ph) otherwise The Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock (amzn.to/2JrUpy2) has 750 recipes that are historically accurate...
      Otherwise you can just try a recipe and taste.. then alter it to how you like it and create balance with the flavours.
