I am in love with the green Captain Willard

I just picked up a pre-owned SPB183, I agree that the dial is what sold me.
As for the case, I disliked the Willard case for the longest time, I found it looked odd. However, it makes sense on the wrist, this is one of the most comfortable watches I own.

I'm off to get one of these today. This video sums up the watch perfectly. It's fun, playful, not serious, comfortable, unique, classic, and desirable. I'd take it over that blase Tudor any day of the week. In fact, I could get the black and the blue Willard for the price of the Tudor. Not knocking the Tudor, it's just so boring I can't see why anyone would buy one. I love the black Willard too, but I don't have a watch with a blue dial and have so many with black dials I think I'll get the blue one first. If I end up loving it as much as I think I will, I'll get the black one next.

Okay so I did in fact go buy one of these at a local ADM. List price was $1,400 but got it for $1,200. It's fun, HEAVY, and the bracelet (other than the rattly clasp) is also surprisingly good quality. The blue dial is absolutely beautiful, and really is what sold me on this watch in the first place. The bezel is mis-aligned, but not by much and you can "manually" center it if it bugs you that much. The dial is the most interesting part. In the sunlight it's bright blue; indoors and in some light the dial (and bezel) can appear black. I was also considering the black-dialed model, but I think the blue gives you the best of both worlds. I'll have to see how the timekeeping is, but overall, a unique, attractive and chunky piece for not that much money. I seriously doubt I would go the next level (SLA069, SLA063, etc.) and pay $3,000+ though, that's kind of pushing the envelope for this case.

I think you are going to be very surprised to see how the resale value climbs as soon as the online retailers run out of stock. The blue willard is absolutely gorgeous - much more so than the black in my opinion.

Cool watch! Seiko always nicer than Tudor! All collections should include a Willard. Or two!

I just received the Blue Willard and I am very impressed on how well the watch fits on my 7.25” wrist and the bracelet is much improved over typical Seiko bracelets. I own the Tudor BB Blue as well abs I feel they are different enough that I don’t feel like I have too many blue watches. I always loved the Seiko Turtle but the shape of Willard is just awesome. I now have to go buy the black dial version now.

The Blue Willard is the best watch of all those Seikos. As a matter of fact, if we admit that the Tudor is a little overhyped the Seiko represents tremendous bang for buck.

Looks really good on your wrist, the colors pop with your skin tone. Probably should have wait a bit to see if you could get a discount, one these "limited edition" watches they stay quite a while on websites and they eventually discount them.

1200USD is actually a good price, they are trending for much more in Europe and the US. I noticed you also got the spb149 at a really good price. HK its just cheaper to buy watches

Fine review. Very nice-looking masculine diver. However, the bezel seems to align perfectly with the 12 position on the dial and the bracelet end links appear to fit flush and tidily to the case; these are things that we do not expect of a plus-thousand- euro Seiko.
mon ami, you must send this watch back and ask for a refund !

Thanks for the video. You're making some great content! Love your watch choices and can relate as I have the same and similar watches as you with the turtle and 62 reimagined...(still don't know what to call that watch... has it got a proper nick name yet?) I have thought about about picking up a willard also....hmm... But have also wondered about the Sub 300 from Doxa because it seems to have a similar case shape... Have you ever thought about Doxa?

A UK AD had this in their Black Friday sale for only £750, retail is £1200. I immediately ordered. After a few days I emailed them for a shipping update. They said "sorry, we can't find the box or the silicone strap, but that's why it was so cheap". Cancelled the order, got a refund.

such a biased comment making the blue willard "half the watch" as the Tudor. Tudor has been overhyped and overpriced and people tell themselves the same thing to justify the cost. The clasp.. really?
i highly doubt you'll lose money on Seiko Numbered Limited Release.

  • @LeeePowers
    @LeeePowers 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Thumbnail makes it look a little gold.
    Thats what made me click.
It is overpriced, and I went with SBBN023 for a little cheaper, and it only limited to 500.
Granted it was a Marinemaster instead of a Willard, this watch you are showing was "limited" to 5000pcs or so.
I dont know when another SBBN023 will surface for sale.
