Had totti not suspended against sweden and bulgaria .Italy would qualify and won the tournament easily .don' t forget the draw 2-2 between the scandinavs in order to defeat italy
The 2-2 draw didn't make a difference in the end, because Italy failed against Bulgaria only winning with 1 goal. Any draw between Denmark and Sweden would have sent out Italy, because Italy performed poorly.
@@Flipper1974nz Good Lord man ….please tell me the humidity was no higher than 50 percent on that day . The Iberian Peninsula is typically a dryer and warmer climate ( great for wine production ) but some areas by the sea can go through these short and humid spells where you find those short and sporadic spell of rain then back to Sun again . Much unlike Northern France , Britain , Belgium , Netherlands , etc .
You are deluded , Buffon literally won the best gk in the world award literally 5 times , best gk in the 21rst centuary award , a world cup title and more than 12 league titles and 20 major trophies. Study idiot “ quality” lol
Buffon at this stage wasn’t as good as Toldo , but as with everything in Italy football is political and factional . The moment Buffon went from Parma to Juventus ( and still a fantastic keeper early on then ) made him the number one GK for Italy - especially under Zoff ( former Juve ) and Trappatoni ( former Juve ) . I agree though that at this stage Toldo > Buffon but not by much.
Yeah ok buddy Um , yeah , there was like only ONE other match which ended in a 2 - 2 draw during the group phase in the second match day group where France drew with Croatia 2 - 2 . Meaning out of all 48 group games the only match that ended 2 - 2 was the France Croatia game ( by that point after all groups had completed all their second match days this was the only 2 - 2 draw up until then out of 36 total matches played that far which had ended 2 - 2 ) .Moving on later to match day three for all groups where conveniently ( rather conveniently ) Denmark in the 89th minute while leading 2 - 1 allowed the softest goal making the final score 2 - 2 . The perfect score . Any draw 2 - 2 or higher like 3 - 3 and so on ( but not 1 - 1 ) . Their match went something like this . Denmark gets on the board 1 - 0 at the 28th minute . Then Sweden equalized in the 47th minute . Then Denmark went ahead again 2 - 1 in the 66th minute and finally in the 89th minute Sweden equalized making the final 2 - 2 . So …So….28 minutes into the match Denmark scores the first goal and goes ahead 1 - 0 . Then 17 minutes passes between Denmark’s first goal at minute 28 until Sweden’s equalizer in minute 47 to make it 1 - 1 . Then from the 47th minute we have about 19 minutes pass before Denmark again went ahead in the 66th minute making the score 2 - 1….Then from the 66th minute we had 23 minutes pass until the equalizer by Sweden in the 89th making it 2 - 2 and the final score. Broken down into 4 equal parts of spacing over the span of 90 minutes for a football match you have 22.5 minutes for 4 equal parts . Tallying the average timeline gaps between each of the 4 overall goals when starting with the first overall goal by Denmark at 28 minutes past the start making it 1 - 0 we thus get a 28 min gap from minute zero.. Then the convenient equalizer ( second overall goal of the match thus far ) by Sweden in minute 47 making the score level at 1 - 1 where 17 minutes had passed since the 28th minute ( being the time of Denmark’s first goal ) until the time Sweden scored in the 47th minute making the score 1 - 1 ( that’s a 17 min gap ) . Then Denmark scores their second and the third overall goal of the match in the 66th minute making the score 2 - 1 ( here there is a 19 minute gap from the 47th minute goal by Sweden after they made the score 1 - 1 ) and then finally after a 23 minute gap we get the 4th overall and final goal of the match by Sweden in the 89th minute ending the match as 2 - 2 . 28 minute gap + 17 minute gap + 19 minute gap + 23 minute gap ( take total and divide by four ) and you get a goal scored on average every 21.75 minutes . Breaking up 90 minutes over 4 equal parts you get 22.5 minutes . Wow . Like a perfect symphony or clock in motion . Denmark up / Sweden ties and again Denmark up / again Sweden ties with all four goals in the match being scored in gaps on average spaced 21.75 minutes apart . Now what did we say again was 90 minutes broken into 4 equal parts ? 22.5 right ? Now what are the odds that not only this match ( besides the only other match in the France vs Croatia match in the second match day in the group phase where it ended 2 - 2 ) would also end in the ( perfectly needed 2 - 2 draw ) where this match and only the France / Croatia match were the only two matches out of total 48 group matches ending with this exact scoreline ? But with that what are also the odds that for this all 4 goals they also would be just so conveniently timed as well spaced apart by an average of 21.75 minutes passing between all four ? What are also the odds that for each goal scored it would only then be met with an equalizer every time ? Funny that never did Denmark go up by two goals at any point ( fixing would be harder had they gone this route and wouldn’t be as credible had they done so . Oh no way , it must be sold as a “ competitive match “ where it will go like this ….1 - 0 / then 1 - 1 / then 2 - 1 / and finally 2 - 2 …..Yeah , cmon man . We can see it right here . So perfect ….So organized ….So “ Nordic “ or “ Germanic “ in how that typical coordinated efficiency of your little match ( fix ) played out . Of course it was rigged . Get over yourselves. You love to praise your own integrity and honesty . Do you really think under these circumstances that there was no prior agreement? With just how perfectly the match played out knowing full well that any draw of 2 to 2 ( or higher like 3 - 3 or 4 - 4 and so on ) would be the only…ONLY… result to eliminate Italy and also make sure you both progress ? So funny as you were the only other match ( besides France / Croatia during the group and under completely different circumstances when they played their second match day in the group versus your third and final ) that would end in a 2 - 2 draw which was timed and coordinated so so well ? 2 OUT OF 48 TOTAL GROUP MATCHES ended like this . Give me a break . Italy would gladly take their record at both the WC and the Euro over the record of both your frozen tundra nations combined . Italians remember very well the signs in the stands ( “ 2 - 2 bye bye Italia ) being displayed in ABUNDANCE over the stands prior to the match . All of what I just mentioned a complete coincidence surely . GTFO please.
@@mattia246 How can someone say Totti, Nesta, Cannavaro on a team consists of the worst starting lineup. That guy is so clueless. The Nordic Fix was unfortunate that's all.
Unlucky, Italy couldve scored 4 goals if it wasnt for the incredible goalkeeper. Totti missing out against Sweden was a big hit for them.
Thank you for posting this video mate, I've never found that game's highlights with totti braids🤩🤩.

That’s 104 degrees Fahrenheit. It really got that hot in Portugal ?

Recuerdo ese partido DEL PIERO tocó la pelota 7 veces y totti le escupió la cara a un jugador
Ferrari, Gattuso and Materazzi on the bench...Talk about being able to throw in some aggression!
Denmark cheated.
Also what was so humiliating here? Nesta was amazing as usual.

Formasi Italia
Buffon
Pessoto Nesta Cannavaro Maldini
Doni Tommasi Di Biagio Di Livio
Totti
Vieri

Buffon did not have the quality of Toldo, he should have been the starting goalkeeper
