Early 00s Germany had not that grat of a team, it was a transitional period from the 90s to the great team of 06-14. Look at the lineup of Germany vs Brasil 2002 and tell me if thats a finalist worthy squad

@@m11-sam germany overperformed in 2002, and they had an a easy route facing Paraguay, Usa and South Korea in the knockouts. I mean yeah its surprising cause they were in the final but at the same time they were a predictable flop

The US in 2002 defeated strong teams like Mexico and Portugal, and if Germany played with Spain or Italy as it was to be expected, they could win at least by penalty kicks
If you don't know - Latvia football never had much support in Latvia. I think Latvia and Lithuania is only national football teams who don't even have they own National football stadium. And in Latvia there is zero 4 star UEFA level ranking stadiums. Largest stadium have 10 000 seats I believe - and last time there was full stadium of fans was - hmmm... I believe at least some 10 years ago. But Thailand GDP per capita is below Latvia, poverty in Thailand is far more bigger then in Latvia, by EPI (Environmental Performance Index) - it is something like Greenest country in World - then Latvia by ranking in 2022 is now 37 place in World, but Thailand 120. So we care more about our children's future and place where they will live not about in what ranking place our football team is now or been in 2004.
