I got my love for makeup from my aunt Mary. She was always glammed up with wigs, lashes and all. All of the ladies in my family were always put together but she was the only one that wore the good stuff. She bought my first eyeshadow palette for Christmas in 9th grade. It was over. Sidebar: I did work as a makeup artist for Fashion Fair cosmetics. 😂 I’m also 52.
So you understand my passion for makeup. You’re a makeup artist? Wow, I bet you can teach me some tips and tricks. I’m still learning! Thank you so much for your support. I truly appreciate you!🥰💕
I'm 71. I fell in love with makeup as a little preschooler watching my mom put on her Sunday face which was loose powder, "rouge", and lipstick. Because I have sensitive skin, I was a junior in college before I started wearing full-face makeup for church and date night. I was fortunate because the woman who worked the Fashion Fair counter at JL Hudson's Detroit was a member of my church. I would go to her counter and she would do my makeup for me, teaching as she demonstrated to those who gathered to watch.
That makeup counter at Hudson’s on Woodward is where I learned to apply makeup too. I missed it when that closed the flagship store. Downtown. 73-through the early 1980’s. I still love to look done when I go out.
I remember my very first make-up, Zuri. I was a Freshman in High School and I fell in love with make-up instantly. I remember when I got my first Fashion Fair compact in the Pink container. I felt like like one of the beautiful girls in Ebony and Jet magazine. Make-up still makes me feel Beautiful at 56.
I'm 56 and I been loving makeup since 7th grade in which my friends and I use to get in trouble for. Through the years a little make up here and there but not mastering the colors and blending. I'm leaning from a lot of makeup artists off TH-cam and Facebook. When I get my channel up Im sending out shouts from everyone I followed and watched, even you.
I’m 57. And I didn’t start doing make up and falling in love with it until around the age of 52 or 53. I learned all that I know from TH-cam university likewise I also had to intuitively figure out some things on my own, when it comes to doing my own make up. Although I would love to learn how to do make up on other people, at this point I’m just a big fraidy-cat
Wow I'm in total admiration of your make up skills. My focus nowadays is looking for multi-use products that don't emphasize my wrinkles, lines n pores lol. '80s Rock n Roll make up (the only type I ever learned) doesn't work anymore 😂. I loved make up back then. I didn't start getting into it again til my 46th bday last yr when I counted out my 10 grandkids 🤣. I'm re-learning, but determined to up my skincare n make up skills 😅. U are beautiful!
I fell in love with makeup when I was 9 years old. I started playing in my grannies makeup (Mary Kay). I guess I must have looked like a clown because my cousin took me to Neiman Marcus and bought me my first Fashion Fair. I was so excited and I’ve been wearing makeup ever since. Yes I was 9 wearing makeup and now I’m 54 years old and still loving it.
@@crownsofglorycollectionsI wear Clinique, Nars and Morphe foundation and I love Juvia’s Place eyeshadow palettes. I have so much makeup and my husband hates it but I still love it.
Sis I was 38 when I started menopause I had my last period at the age 42 and than another one at age 48. Now I’m in my early 60s and I’m using hormones medicine because these hot flashes is no joke. It makes me so crazy sometimes. But I thank God for the meds.
Hey Geraldine, I have tried hormone replacements (pellets) a few years ago it really worked but I was still concerned about cancer. Thank you for your support! I guess I need to start a call Menopause Sisters!😂 I pray that you have a great week!💕🥰
Hello, I'm a new member of Royal Nation. I first wanted to wear makeup after watching my grandma. I was about 9yrs. My mom would buy play makeup for me and my sisters, but once I was in high school I started buying the real stuff. I've noticed that I blot my T zone with a sponge just like grandma. Back then I thought that's what you were suppose to do.
New subbie….I think my love for makeup started around 8 when I watched my gma and aunties put theirs on. Thanks for sharing your tips!!! You look beautiful and I love the t-shirt 💕
I love makeup. I love a full glam look. I am going more natural on occasion. I also have super oily skin. I can’t do lashes!! No matter how I try😂. I love your look.
Funny, you should mention lashes. My formerly full lashes are thinning as I age so I'm going to try this product called Lash Buddy. These lashes seem to be easy on and easy off using a special adhesive tape. No glue or magnets. As you see from my photo, I too like to be pulled together. That's my full glam look. My natural look is primer or CC cream, mascara, lipstick, and earrings.
Hello, I'm 57 and going THROUGH!!!😅 I have to si in front of the fan when I do my make-up because I always start sweating. What did you spray on your face after you applied your contour before your foundation?
I stumbled upon your video today and love everything you do, however, for someone like me who wants to start wearing a little more makeup, there are just too many steps. Do you have a makeup video for beginners such as me? I just subscribed.
Ann Marie, you’ve been crowned 👑 as the newest member of the Royal Nation!🎉 I don’t currently have a video for beginners but for you, I will one. Hopefully you have your notifications on. Give me about 2 weeks. Again Welcome🥳🥳
Enjoyed the video. As a woman of color over 50 it was nice to be able to relate. I started getting into make a few years back to cover my acne spots. Plus it makes me feel better. I went through the same menopause or perimenopause systems. Honey I thought I was having a heart attack several times. My family thought I was loosing it or going crazy. I was diagnosed with anxiety but it took months to realize it was the start of perimenopause. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more videos. Thanks for looking out for the grown and sexy folks 😉
I usually use milk of magnesia. I just recently started using Glowish primer by Huda beauty. Please check out my latest video. Thank you for your support, I truly appreciate you!🫶🏽
Hi, I have been using Milk of Magnesium for years. Helps my oily skin tzone for hours. Girls at the gym asked how is it that my makeup does not move, Milk of Mag gurl!
Milk of Magnesia is the best primer. I don’t wear foundation because I wear masks daily. When I M.O.M will be used. My skin is dry now because of menopause. I’ll just water it down a little bit.
I started at age 45 and ended at age 40. i did experience hot flashes but my main problem was that the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet would turn red as though I had been hit really hard on them and they were hot.
Really, sometimes my the palms of hands turns red but didn’t know that it’s a symptom of menopause. I know menopause affects people differently. Thank you Stephanie for your view and support!🥰 Have a bless day!💕
The women in my immediate family really didn’t wear makeup. My family most of the women have really nice skin. But I got into makeup really just watching influencers on TH-cam and I have a cousin that is always beat but I like minimum natural makeup.
@@crownsofglorycollections I am sixty four and I love wearing it, I just don’t know how to wear it the way you all are wearing it these days. Also I don’t go out very much except for the doctors and I don’t have time to do All of that. As a young teenager I used to just play around with makeup but being in bed so much now I don’t. Then I wonder am I too old to put on so much makeup. I love watching your tutorial because it looks so beautiful.
My face would have started bitching within 5 minutes of putting all of that makeup on. As much as I love makeup I go through that whole menopause type personal summons and all that stuff for the started dripping off my face.
